Chapter 619  Challenges Daimon & Nethereal sisters, Jazmine’s version (part 8)

Having obliterated her enemy, Chris released her spell and the imposing castle which now had a missing wall returned to the ground, alongside a sigh of relief from the honey eyed girl, her mana which was absorbed into the ground earlier was released into the atmosphere.

When a mage has reached a certain mastery at the time of using a spell with huge energy consumption needs and if talented enough, it's possible to retrieve some of the mana that is left after the usage of the spell, if there is any, back into the body, like Daimon does with Comet Sword.

However, Chris just learned that new spell, that's right this castle wasn't the same she used back when they were participating at the tri-colored lake's tournament, but was an improved version of it.

'As new as that spell is to her, she was still able to use a partial release, in case she needs to continue fighting, quite good', thought Daimon.

Just like with Comet Sword, which Daimon has learned to release in parts as he sees fit, Chris used partial release with "Fortress Crush", as she only made the frontal part of the castle explode.

That's right, if she needed to, she could have used the whole castle as an offensive mean, of course that would have been the end of her participation in a fight, because she would end up completely empty in terms of both mana and stamina, which is why she focused in learning how to partially release it.

In case you haven't realized it yet, her improved spell shared some resemblance with Daphne's Storm Stream, or it would be more accurate to say it resembled the Chaos Stream from the Duchess, no, it actually resembles the original attack which he received from that whale at the trial from the lineage temple, which is the original and complete version of those two spells.

The difference lies in the fact that the Storm Stream is only composed of water and wind elements and mana from its caster, while Chaos Stream uses other elements and mana that linger within the atmosphere to produce an insanely strong attack by making all the elements and mana dragged by it clash with each other, hence why it includes the word "Chaos" in its name.

But the attack he received from the whale at the trial from the lineage temple went beyond that, as it used not only mana and elements but even other type of energies that lingered in the vicinity, how does Daimon know it, it's actually easy, that stream he had to dodge from time to time, contained traces od his own battle aura… an energy that doesn't exist in the atmosphere at all.

Chris did something similar, the ground which she controlled to create her castle had nether in it, due to this place's atmosphere and the interference of the Lords to create an environment which was beneficial for them.

Originally, any other energy and element besides Chris's mana and the earth mana that was contained in the earth used for the castle should have been expulsed, a process that also consumed a lot of mana by the way.

But now, Chris instead was able to isolate said foreign energy and element to then use it for her benefit, despite not having neither the affinity nor the capacity to use that energy, the result was that layer of darkness nether which acted as a counter for the ultimate spell used by the darkness affinity guy.

Amusingly enough, the scenario prepared by the Balax Lord to help his subordinate, ended up being his downfall, since the nether that had accumulated in the ground surpassed what the darkness affinity guy could manifest out of the medal and while obviously there was a limit as to how much Chris could use on her castle, she still overwhelmed a darkness nether user with darkness nether, it was rather poetic.

'Daphne should be able to use the original version of Chaos and Storm stream now that her mana circuits will be healed, meaning she'll be able to use other energies and elements for offense, meanwhile Chris can now do the same but for defense, what an amazing team', concluded Daimon.

The honey eyed girl felt the praise sensation coming from Daimon's direction and her eyes glowed for a second as she nodded in that same direction, gaining the recognition of the one she considered as a truly strong one gave her a slight sensation of pride, but she didn't lose herself into it, since she had seen what the second strongest one among them, in other words Aisha could do.

'I understand the fulfillment that having my efforts recognized brought me, but why is my lineage reacting just by looking at him…', thought Chris.

The honey eyed girl was returned to the real world by her victory's announcement echoing through the area.

And with that declaration, Chris was transported from her battlefield back to the resting area, not without she stealing one last gaze in Daimon's direction, something that didn't escape a certain crazy girl's attention.

High up into the sky, the enemy queen who was doing her best not to curse out loud, finally calmed down after receiving a message from her subordinate which was the next in line for the fights.

"To think someone that focused on defense had such a strong ace up her sleeve… well played White Queen, however you are going to regret not having saved such an "irregular" piece for the next fight instead", said Erika to Jasmine before focusing on the next battlefield.

All this while the youngest of the nethereal sisters ignored her and stealthily slowly but surely floated closer to Daimon, who feigned not to notice her, she looked cute thinking he couldn't notice the diminishment in distance between them just because he seemed to be paying full attention to the fights, it was also amusing that she nearly took a whole step closer when she saw the honey eyed Chris stealing a gaze at their direction earlier.

Leaving that little merry episode aside, the atmosphere at the next battlefield was quite tense, from Erika's side, the participant was a slightly muscular guy with tanned skin and red hair, he had some resemblance to the enemy queen so perhaps the "material" used to create him related to the one used for Erika.

From Jasmine's side, the one participating was a tall girl with white hair and bright blue eyes, she exuded an unapproachable and cold aura while remaining there in silent, until now, naturally she was the strongest of the Risha sisters in terms of head on combat, Liliana.

"Even if that arrogant idiot was more bark than bite, he wouldn't have lost so easily, and I highly doubt I would have received an "order" just to deal with a normal mortal that hasn't reached even the same stage as me, so what's your deal?", he asked only to be met with cold silence from the snow eagle girl.

"Tsk", despite his rough looks, the red-haired guy was a quite a witty one, he took advantage of the fact that fire affinity people like him, are known to be either energetic and talkative or aggressive and violent to try and make the enemy give some information.

He even set up the trap quite slily by throwing in some "bait" in the form of giving out information that should be unknown to the other side, but he unfortunately didn't know that Liliana is not a words person.

Unlike the Valas princess who couldn't talk due to Arlion's curse, the snow eagle girl is naturally quiet, even with her own sisters she uses as few words as possible most of the time, not because she isn't sociable at all, since her actions often speak for her, that's just the way she is, proud looking, cool and aloof like a snow eagle.

Well, there is an exception though and that is when Daimon is involved, but not only Daimon isn't present in her battlefield, but the other party is an enemy so she has no reason to spare a man other than Daimon even a single world when it's not necessary.

'Annoying block of ice, oh well I guess it's not like I need to play as usual, I got the "order" after all so… let's just utterly crush her!', inwardly screamed the red haired guy as he counted the fractions of a second left until the barrier disappeared.

"Boooom!", the moment preventing them from fighting faded, a loud explosion followed by a sea of dark orange battle aura, surrounded of the red-haired guy, engulfing the white-haired snow eagle girl and causing the ground in the vicinity to melt due to the high heat released the fire battle aura.

But that wasn't all, the release of battle aura stopped all of a sudden and the ground below the feet of the red-haired guy exploded as he flashed at Liliana's direction.

"Clang!", a thunderous metallic sound echoed through the whole battlefield as the red-haired guy's magic weapon, a brutal red scimitar clashed against a refined looking rapier.

"Hssssss!", what followed was a violent reaction caused by the huge difference in the temperatures of the two weapons.

"Crack!", then Liliana being naturally forced backwards, leaving a deep path of broken ground as she moved backwards, it was to be expected as she is a mage and the opponent is a knight, not to mention the difference in their realms.

The red-haired guy however didn't look happy in the slightest, though he won in the strength contest, that was a given, considering the difference in their paths, what made him frown is the fact that despite the big impact of his attack, the white-silver haired girl in front of him didn't seem to suffer the slightest wound.

Not to mention that his fire battle aura didn't burn her at all, and he didn't give her any time to cast a spell, so she couldn't have used one to defend herself and in any case, he can tell that she is an attack type mage, so her defensive spells shouldn't be that strong at all.

It was then that the red-haired guy noticed the fact that the ground where Liliana was standing earlier, was slightly more elevated than the rest which had melted a bit due to his battle aura, only then he injected nether into his eyes and was able to notice the thin "coat" of light blue mana that covered the snow eagle girl from head to toe.

"Heh, so you indeed prepared beforehand and here I thought you were a wild one, but it seems you are rather crafty", said the red-haired guy, to which Liliana simply turned into a blue flash that rushed straight towards the enemy.

The red-haired guy inwardly snorted, he had to admit that he was indeed tricked by the cool and aloof snow eagle girl, meaning that her mana manipulation ability should be quite high.

'That's why I hate meticulous mage bastards, let's make it so that you can't hide your moves anymore!', he inwardly shouted as his body exploded in battle aura.

"Battleground Flame Scimitar", the red-haired guy's magic weapon became even more brutal looking by being cladding in violent dark orange battle aura, but that wasn't all, when Erika told Jasmine that she should have saved a defense specialist which a hidden ace up her sleeves like Chris, it wasn't her being petty.

But because the red-haired guy who was facing Liliana, was… the vice-captain from the special operation unit within the Balax Lord's army.

Liliana who was charging at the enemy though the waves of high heat battle aura that were released by the enemy when he was casting his martial art, suddenly frowned at the warning sent by her battle instincts.

"Battleground Slash", with a less flashy name but a much more dangerous tone in his voice, the red-haired guy slashed frontwards and the scimitar he was holding with his two hands, exploded in battle aura which was then shot as an attack

"Boooom!", a highly concentrated mass of battle aura destroyed everything in its path, cutting through the solid ground all the way to the closest part of the wall that surrounded the battlefield, to then bypass it before the slash exhausted its power.

The red-haired guy smirked, he didn't pay attention to the area which was devastated by his attack, but instead looked at the sky where a white-silver haired girl with though sharp pretty looking ice wings was floating.

There was also a noticeable light blue mana layer which released a white haze due to the difference in the temperature of the surrounds and the light blue mana, which isolated the snow eagle girl from the rest of the world.

"Now that's more like it, looking at them up closely, those wings surely are quite something, the result of you being used as a material will most likely be able to join the special corps, I'll ask the Lord to assign the result directly under me", said the red-haired guy.

Unfortunately for him, provocations were useless against Liliana, she has had way more insulting and disgusting words directed at her by the guys from the Light Faction whom his father wanted her to marry and not even once did she pay any attention to that, it was a different story when they were directed to Leslie or Ivy though.

'So, unlike the others he can use martial arts for something as simple as a regular attack, his offensive output would be quite high then, but his energy reserves would suffer the downside, unless…', Liliana who remained completely silent, used those pretty blue of hers to analyze the enemy's aura.

She might not have Ivy's special eyes, but out of the three Risha sisters, her battle instincts are the sharpest, maybe because her race descends from snow eagles who according to the records are considered to be the strongest flying birds of prey, in the four galaxies, surpassing any other flying bird race in terms of both size and aggressiveness.

Amusingly enough, the calm and cool personality akin to the royal lineage of the snow eagle Risha family's branch, perfectly balanced the aggressiveness that would normally cause Liliana and her mother Anya to be more on the reckless side.

That being said, it's not like Liliana didn't know how to be cunning, in fact she has realized the importance of it after seeing Daimon who fights by absolutely overwhelming his opponents, though she of course has adapted such tactics to fit her.

"Suppressed realm…", she said, it was only two words, but the unadulterated disdain in her voice, accompanied by a barely noticeable raise in the right corner of her pretty lips, perfectly conveyed her intention to the red-haired guy, she was… looking down on him.

The red-haired guy was actually a peak Knight Lord, however the participants were limited to be at the middle stage of the Lord ranks, at least naturally, they could boost their realms past that with abilities, spells, martial arts or whatever, so he had to have his realm suppressed in order to participate.

Naturally with his realm suppressed his strength and battle prowess also diminished, but thanks to the Balax Lord's power, he managed to keep the larger energy reserves of a peak Knight Lord, hence why didn't hesitate to show the difference between himself and the regular members of the army and even the majority of the special corps.

Which is that he could use Battleground level special martial arts, but regular ones as well, his energy reserves and his mastery allowed him to fight as a proper member of the special corps, unlike the darkness affinity guy from earlier.

But now he was being looked down upon due to it, it was as if he was told "Coward who chooses to fight someone with a way lower realm", since he wasn't facing even one of the enemies that are at the Lord realms, like Chris or Lance, but a Star ranked one, in other words Liliana, with the excuse that his realm was suppressed.

'This bitch… no calm down, the Black Queen seemed to specially care for the White Queen, so this might be a strategy from her, don't fall for it', thought the red-haired guy to himself.

"So, what, what use does "fairness" have in a fight for survival, we at the Balax army only care for one thing and that is strength!", roared the red-haired guy as he tensed his legs, causing the ground below of him to crack before he propelled himself into the air.

"Fiery Trail", with a loud shout the movement martial art of the red-haired guy made him disappear from plain sight while midair.

"Mm…", mumbled Liliana as she nodded, the enemy didn't understand why she said that, but he also didn't care, as he was moving at high speed with his scimitar aiming at her chest, the scimitar was so big that a single slash would cut all the way from Liliana's chest all the way to her navel with ease, despite the snow eagle girl being quite tall for her age.

"Battleground Slash!".

The red-haired guy who already imagined the scene of the white-silver haired girl being cut down in half diagonally, was met with disappointment as a loud metallic sound echoed through the battlefield, not only that but there was no explosion this time.

"Clang!", he looked at the place where his scimitar should have cut the enemy before the explosion caused by the physical impact as well as the release of battle aura would have followed, just to see a pair of rapiers blocking his scimitar.

"Ice Phoenix Sword", for the first time during their fight, the snow eagle girl used more than two words, it was for a good reason, as she condensed an intricate looking rapier out of ice, the thing had the same basic design as the one she used, with the difference that there was a perfectly carved mythical-looking ice bird with its wings spread, on the guard.

"Crack!", the blockade lasted only for a fraction of a second though, since the newly created ice rapier crumbled apart and Liliana was sent flying backwards, however the impact was reduced quite a bit so instead of hundreds, she just retreated a few dozens of meters.

The important part is that the explosion of battle aura was interrupted, since the red-haired guy expected the physical impact to still go through, he is a knight after all, add to that humiliation the fact that the white-silver haired girl didn't seem surprised of the result which meant that she expected this outcome, and you get a pissed off nethereal.

"Booom!", the red-haired guy once again released a large quantity of battle aura, he changed the martial art he was going to use this time though, instead of a Battleground martial art which he could use with shortened casting, he went with one which needed full casting.

"Battleground Orange Blade!", this time the explosion of battle aura occurred even before the red-haired guy rushed at Liliana, it actually cladded the scimitar creating a "blade" that surpassed the ten-meter mark.

"Fiery Trail", only then, he flashed towards the snow eagle girl who remained at the same spot at where she was floating and then another surprising event happened, Liliana… used four words this time!

"Ice Phoenix Sword, Triple", this time the enemy did get to see the process since the battle aura explosion was already ongoing, first, one of the three ice rapiers alongside the real one blocked the scimitar stopping it in its tracks.

And then, the other two which were by the way not being wield by the white-silver haired girl's hands… they were floating and being manipulated by a stream of light blue mana connected to the snow eagle girl's wings.
