Chapter 512: Chapter 512: Collection +1
"Inconsequential."
Under the cold gaze of the silver dragon, Arkaluun's words came to an abrupt halt as he watched his opponent's form grow inch by inch, towering and majestic like a mountain.
Even with the restrictions of the main material plane's rules, Garon's form was still magnificent after using the Titan transformation. The awe-inspiring silver dragon, over five thousand meters long from head to tail, surpassed the visual impact of the first generation Iron Dragon King that Arkaluun had once seen in the main material world.
With a gentle sweep of the dragon's wings, it created a storm of flying sand and rocks.
Garon's eyes narrowed, and an overwhelming dragon's might, as if from an abyss, swept out. It stirred the ground beneath, sending a cascading sand waterfall thousands of feet high into the air.
"I am the King of Sand!"
"You dare use my power against me in my own domain?"
On the other side, the sand giant's steps faltered slightly as it faced Garon's enormous form. Seeing the silver dragon stir up a sand tsunami about to engulf him, Arkaluun's gravelly face twisted with rage.
Raising a long sand spear, he slashed downward heavily.
In the next instant, the sand waterfall created by the dragon split, forming a straight and wide path. The ground cracked open, extending into a deep ravine that stretched for hundreds of kilometers.
As the rolling sands separated, they fell on either side of Arkaluun, their movements driven by his fury. More sand, like flowing water, gathered onto the sand giant's body, further enlarging the deity's form.
Ultimately, a sand giant standing over six thousand meters tall emerged. It was surrounded by swirling wind and sand, as if celebrating its king.
This transformation clearly wasn't easy for Arkaluun.
Reflected in the silver dragon's eyes, the sand giant's surface crumbled with every step. Previously, when it displayed a thousand-meter form, its body seemed integrated and solid, but now it looked unstable.
If merely size was the goal, both Garon and Arkaluun could present even grander forms, even with the limitations of the main material plane's rules.
However, overindulgence in size without considering other factors can sometimes reduce combat effectiveness.
Arkaluun, in trying not to be outdone by Garon's imposing figure, had abandoned his more suitable form, opting for a meaningless grandeur that he couldn't fully control, resulting in greater energy loss.
"Foolish and stubbornly competitive."
Garon, with a calm demeanor, assessed Arkaluun internally.
Without expanding his form further in this display of might, the silver dragon spread his wings. His massive form tore through the sky with a roar, dancing amidst the heavens.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The dragon's wings flapped fiercely, producing thunderous booms.
Garon seemed like a rising and falling silver star, carving a graceful yet dangerous arc through the air, diving towards Arkaluun from high above.
"Entertain me with your insignificant grains of sand!"
The deep growl from the dragon's mouth echoed.
With his wings sweeping across the sky, the high-speed wind pressure tore through the ground below, creating a deep, endless chasm.
On the other side, Arkaluun, as an ancient primordial being, felt Garon's contemptuous insult, and his sand-formed eyes darkened.
The long sand spear struck the ground heavily.
Within a million-mile radius, in Arkaluun's domain, the sandy ground began to spin, and the sky filled with a thick veil of coarse sand, covering the world like a shroud.
At the same time, the endless sand seemed to come alive.
It surged forward as if imbued with life, adhering layer by layer to the silver dragon's body, aiming to engulf Garon completely, leaving no space uncovered.
Sizzling sounds accompanied the corrosive, decaying power of the sand.
Garon could feel that as the sand grains contacted his dragon scales, they were eroding his armor. Prolonged exposure would eventually turn his scales into dust.
Moreover, the sand sought every crack, trying to infiltrate his body.
At this moment, Garon's thoughts focused.
An invisible, formless power of time flowed over his body, stopping the sand from penetrating.
In just a breath, countless grains of sand had gathered, encasing the dragon in layers upon layers, forming a massive sand sphere that obscured his silver form.
Sand Shackles!
Arkaluun extended his hand towards the sand-encased dragon, his gaze sharp.
"Pathetic creature, you shall be bound by my chains and weathered to dust!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Between the heavens and the earth, endless sand churned and twisted, coalescing into countless massive, unbreakable chains of sand, wrapping around the sand sphere to imprison the dragon.
But just as the chains were about to lock in place, time suddenly stopped.
The raging winds, the swirling sands, and even the solidified chains all froze in place.
Arkaluun's expression tightened.
The sand surrounding him boiled more fiercely.
"Endless sands, heed my command, seal!"
Arkaluun stomped on the ground.
Countless grains of sand gathered above his head, forming a crown-like shape.
Crack. Crack. In the domain of stopped time, the frozen sands began to tremble. The chains slightly twisted, wrapping around the surface of the sand sphere, carrying a strong sealing force, trying to lock the dragon inside.
Meanwhile, Arkaluun's face changed drastically.
Boom!
With a deafening crash, a brilliant silver wing, marked with circular patterns, burst through the layers of sand, scattering countless grains.
Boom!
Another wing followed, breaking free.
Then, the dragon's claw, covered in silver scales, swiped, shattering the seemingly indestructible chains into fragments that fell to the ground like rain.
"You have failed to please me, and I am disappointed."
The dragon's deep voice echoed in the ear of the wilderness deity, making his heart sink.
Amongst the scattering golden sands, the silver dragon gazed down, his eyes deep and ancient, as if veiled by a faint glow from primordial times, unfathomable.
"Encased in my destructive sands, yet almost unscathed..."
Only now, sensing the immense power within his opponent, did Arkaluun realize that this adversary was far from ordinary, incomparable to typical deities.
In this moment, the wilderness deity recalled the strange tone of the original Sun God.
"Could it be that Ayherne didn't come to this small world because of this dragon?"
Arkaluun mused silently.
Currently, Garon's biological level, without merging with the deity Garon, was comparable to a middle-level deity. Arkaluun, being a high-level quasi-deity, had initially looked down on Garon, having perceived his power tier. But he hadn't expected to fall into a disadvantage.
Even under the restrictions of the main material world, one's inherent life level greatly influences the outcome.
Unaware of Arkaluun's thoughts, Garon, without giving him time to think, attacked.
Whoosh!
Space rippled with waves.
The silver dragon's wings spread, slicing through the sands, darting forward like a silver line through a backdrop of yellow sand.
Faced with the dragon's overwhelming might, Arkaluun had no time to ponder.
The sand spear stood upright, its surface vibrating at a high frequency, with sharp, serrated sand particles ready to cut through the dragon's neck as he swooped down.
Simultaneously, Garon extended his claws, each talon gleaming with a cold light.
Rift of Time and Space!
With chaotic spatial flows coating his claws, the silver light clashed fiercely with the sand spear.
Boom!
A ring-like shockwave erupted, causing the desert ground to crater and collapse.
With the dragon's low growl, the spear, filled with Arkaluun's primordial strength, snapped with a crack.
Arkaluun's pupils contracted.
Sandsteel Armor!
Endless grains of sand compressed and layered to form an indestructible armor, covering the sand giant's body.
Meanwhile, as Garon's claw approached, the black-scaled ring on his wrist spun counterclockwise, releasing the power of time.
The armor reverted to its original sand state under the time reversal, and as the dragon's claw pierced through Arkaluun's chest, the sand armor vanished as if it had never been.
Boom!
The Rift of Time and Space tore through the wilderness deity's sandy flesh, entering through his chest and emerging from his back.
With the dragon's mountainous body pressing forward, Arkaluun's form staggered backward under the relentless force.
As the wilderness deity was pushed into a disadvantage, Garon's other claw ripped through his body again.
Thud!
The silver dragon stood upright, his powerful hind legs smashing the ground to halt his massive form's momentum.
Garon's claws had both pierced Arkaluun's chest.
At the same time, the dragon, towering over the deity, grinned menacingly as his teeth gleamed.
Rip!
Garon's claws exerted force.
Under the dragon's immense power, Arkaluun's body trembled violently and then burst apart, his upper half shattered into a cloud of swirling sand.
Clatter. The lower half of the sand giant's body also crumbled into fine particles, blowing away in the wind.
Garon shook his body slightly, dislodging the sand from between his scales.
"I am the essence of sand, endlessly mutable, infinite, and immortal."
Arkaluun's ethereal voice sounded again.
With a fierce wind, the sand condensed into smaller, thousand-meter-high sand giants, surrounding the silver dragon in countless numbers and attacking.
Garon remained unmoved.
These new sand giants, while numerous, lacked the primordial power of the previous form and were no of the same quality. They were merely a façade of strength, easily distinguishable from the original's true form.
Garon had shattered Arkaluun's previous form, and although he couldn't kill the tenacious deity outright, he had inflicted significant damage.
**Time Slice!**
Garon's dragon claw descended, and invisible temporal power, like rippling waves, swept through the multitude of sand giants.
Crack! Crack! After a brief pause, these massive figures fragmented, each grain of sand within them severed into finer particles.
"It's futile."
"I embody the destructive winds of sand, an infinite form."
"From the beginning, I have stood invincible."
Arkaluun's voice continued to resound.
Once more, the sands surged, like a torrential downpour, converging towards Garon.
Instead of forming a singular giant, Arkaluun controlled the vast sand and wind, launching wave after wave of assaults: sandstorms, sandfalls, sand spears, relentlessly assaulting Garon like an unending tide.
"A deity without a fixed form is indeed challenging to kill."
Garon's Platinum Dragon Eyes reflected the sand-filled world, his gaze steady.
For a deity like Arkaluun, each grain of sand was part of his body, and lacking a definitive shape, he was exceedingly hard to destroy completely.
But hard to kill didn't mean impossible.
"Let's see if you truly are immortal."
Garon took a deep breath, summoning the immense elemental energy within him that he had long kept in reserve.
There was no need for incantations or elaborate gestures. With Garon's profound understanding of the world's essence, a mere thought was enough to construct the necessary spell model.
Simultaneously, Garon drew upon the power of time, using Dimensional Magic to cast multiple spells simultaneously.
In the sand-filled world, numerous suns began to rise.
In an instant, these conjured suns filled the sky, resembling countless golden dragon eyes, coldly observing the world below.
Eye of the Sun.
This was the highest-level spell of semi-divine power within the material world, pushing the limits of what the material plane could sustain.
Closing his eyes slightly, Garon's deep voice intoned, "Come, witness the feast of destruction."
As Garon poured his magic into the spell, the suns grew intensely bright, emitting boundless light and heat, enveloping the land inch by inch, melting each grain of sand.
In that moment, Arkaluun sensed the threat of death.
Short-term resistance was manageable, but prolonged exposure would be dangerous.
Arkaluun's resolve began to waver.
With a whirlpool-like motion, the sands started to retreat, attempting to slip through the plane's barriers and escape the continent of Noah.
However, invisible and intangible temporal chains had already woven into a net around the plane's boundaries, sealing the space.
Leaving the material plane in Garon's presence was no easy feat.
"The continent of Noah, sheltered by my wings, is not a place you can enter or leave at will."
Garon's eyes narrowed as he continued to cast a variety of destructive spells, systematically eroding Arkaluun's form. Each grain of sand was targeted, none spared.
Against a formless deity like Arkaluun, this method was straightforward, albeit brutal and effective.
The world became a cage.
Arkaluun, unable to match Garon, was gradually worn down.
Under these circumstances, Arkaluun's fate was sealed.
"Ayherne! That treacherous bastard."
Arkaluun silently cursed, realizing he had been misled by the primordial Sun God.
Had the Sun God been upfront about the dangers of the continent of Noah, Arkaluun might not have insisted on coming.
Unwilling to die slowly, Arkaluun reformed a body brimming with primordial power and fought Garon desperately, only to be repeatedly shattered.
Eventually, after a protracted struggle.
The once vast area covered by sand had shrunk to a mere few dozen kilometers.
Suspended in the sky, Garon glanced down and cast both Spatial Weaving and Temporal Amber.
Crack. Crack. The Temporal Amber extended, encapsulating every grain of sand, sealing the now severely weakened Arkaluun, while spatial compression reduced the entire area to a small patch of sand only a few meters in diameter, each grain sparkling with life.
For an unkillable deity, sealing was often the best option.
"I told you, you would become part of my collection."
Smiling slightly at the immobilized Arkaluun, Garon carefully stored the artistic temporal amber.
"The large-scale invasion of the material world by these deities… Let me see where Ayherne is hiding."
Thinking of the primordial Sun God, Garon's eyes glimmered with a mix of reminiscence and anticipation.
