Raising the Elf’s Genius Slayer

Chapter 65

Chapter: Theory of Dimensions

“Have you ever heard of the Theory of Dimensions? It refers to the theory that countless dimensions exist within a single universe.”

“For instance, let’s name the realm where humans, elves, dwarves, and beastmen cohabit, the Middle Realm.”

“In this context, the Theory of Dimensions aims to explain other realms like the Demon Realm, Spirit Realm, and Heavenly Realm. To put it bluntly, these are concepts that are extremely hard to access physically.”

“The continents within the Middle Realm exist on a certain planet. That planet resides within a specific galaxy, and that galaxy is part of a broader universe.”

“However, the Demon Realm does not exist within this universe. The same goes for the Heavenly Realm and Spirit Realm. Simply moving great distances won’t ever lead you to those other realms.”

“So where exactly do these other realms exist? That’s where the dimension comes into play.”

“The Middle Realm, Demon Realm, Heavenly Realm, and Spirit Realm all spatially overlap. By shifting dimensions from where you currently are, you can immediately transition to another realm.”

“Let’s use a simple example. If you take a step forward, that’s moving through space. But if you transition to another realm from the same spot, that’s moving through dimensions.”

“Of course, there’s a small positional difference when shifting dimensions. As a side note, it’s been frequently claimed in academia that this could be used to facilitate space movement, but dimension shifting is way more challenging, so it isn’t particularly practical.”

“To simplify things, just think of the differences between 2D and 3D. Other realms are defined not by height or depth in dimension but by their inherent ‘difference.'”

“Mages have attempted to systematize this concept of dimension through quantum magic, but they haven’t achieved notable results as of yet. Recently, the Grandmaster Rondalf Magicion attempted to explain dimensions using quantum entanglement…”

“…Wait a minute, Eri, where did you learn all that?”

It may have been an article, but from the look of it, she seemed to understand everything she was explaining. How could a spirit that was barely born have learned such things?

When Enok asked, Eri scoffed.

[Iris taught me.]

“Is that so…?”

[This is something I learned separately. I was just curious and asked.]

Eri snorted, which made Enok’s body stiffen.

‘Huh…?’

Is puberty already kicking in? This is an awkward reaction.

“Yeah… I see. You’re quite smart.”

[…….]

What is this, really? Feeling her gaze, he glanced sideways to see Undine covering her mouth with both hands.

If you’re trying to hide your laughter, at least do a better job! I glared at her, and she removed her hands and laughed openly. That naughty spirit.

Anyway, the sudden topic came up because the Helldog is a creature from the Demon Realm.

Why on earth are these beings meant for the Demon Realm in the Middle Realm? Rionne seemed to have doubts, but frankly, Enok wasn’t too curious.

“Ah, no! These guys are dangerous! Our clan members would never be slack against them!”

The boisterous human man was chatting without any sense of tension, but what do I know? There’s no need to be tense.

Thud—

Enok stepped forward. Rionne and Undine took a step back. Enok was sufficient for this, and he was treating this as a sort of training.

– Croak…!

As one human broke away from the formation, the Helldogs that were in a standoff charged in.

Kiiing-!

Enok’s Ki Eye began to unleash its prowess. Four Helldogs charging at him. The lines extending from them were vividly visible.

Thud, Enok took a step forward.

Swoosh-!

Then, as if they were concerted, all the spears the Helldogs unleashed went wide.

An attack that couldn’t conceal its intent in front of the Ki Eye holds no meaning. It’s almost like a glimpse into the future; with a casual flick of his hand, the four Helldogs became nothing more than heaps of meat sprawled on the floor.

“Whoa…!”

Ignoring the loud man, he stepped deeper into battle. One Helldog, frozen in disbelief at the sight of the impossible, Kiiing-! The Ki Eye pierced through it all.

‘The line above the Helldog is likely…’

As a test, he drew the minimum power while tracing the line with his finger.

Swoosh-

The Helldog split apart without any resistance. A light flickered in Enok’s eyes.

*

“Wow…!”

Seeing the Helldog split like tofu made Rionne clap her hands.

“Looks like Enok is finally starting to see the lines!”

[Sometimes it’s a bit scary to watch him.]

Undine looked at the rampaging Enok with a bewildered expression.

The ‘line’ refers to the grain of wood or the texture of meat, but what Rionne referred to was a slightly deeper essence, which was in fact lesser than the Ki Eye.

However, it wasn’t surprising due to the unique way Enok obtained the Ki Eye. For someone his age to even see something that’s typically perceived only by a Grandmaster? It’s absurd either way.

“W-What nonsense is that…?”

Still, Rionne and Undine were somewhat okay, but what kind of a feeling would this human man beside them have?

“At that age…. What have I been doing…?”

With his mouth agape and his complexion turning pale, one could almost guess his thoughts. To begin with, this man wouldn’t even know what Enok did. He was merely showing an overwhelming performance against the Helldog.

If he knew the ins and outs, he might just faint! The gap in overwhelming talent is no joke. It’s not strange at all for someone to feel discouraged when witnessing such a sight.

Before long, Enok disposed of all the Helldogs and let out a soft breath. That monstrous little brat. Undine flitted over and playfully tapped the back of Enok’s head.

[Hey you!]

“…? Why did you hit me?”

[Just a little slow, as usual.]

Looking at Enok’s aggrieved expression, Undine tried to calm her racing heart.

‘It seems like he hasn’t noticed Eri’s signal yet.’

But that’s bound to change. When he does notice that signal, just how far will this little brat go?

‘Now, show me little one. Can you fly higher than the Emperor?’

Defying odds and striving toward those stars, it felt like I could see him soaring to the very end of the sky.

*

‘It still feels a bit awkward.’

This is what they call ‘grain,’ but I still can’t see it unless I use the Ki Eye. In fact, it requires even more concentration than usual to see.

So for now, it doesn’t seem like there’s much significance in the grain when fighting someone on a much lower level. The drain from using the Ki Eye seemed greater.

Would it be useful when fighting someone pretty tough? That’s encouraging.

Enok and his group were leisurely eliminating monsters as they proceeded through the dungeon. An odd point was that every monster they encountered was a creature from the Demon Realm.

– Wowwwww────────!!

A three-headed Cerberus roared, spewing fire from its mouth.

“Push forward and protect!”

Enok surrounded himself with a barrier utilizing electromagnetic force. He then charged straight into the billowing flames. The fire parted hopelessly, creating a path towards Cerberus.

Crackle-!

Enok wrapped his hand with electric energy. He was about to smash one head, but—

Squeal-!

Boom! A long tail struck Enok’s hand away, sending him airborne. Cerberus seized the opportunity and swung a gigantic paw.

Kiiing-!

‘I can see it.’

The trajectory of the claws approaching him, at the same time, the texture of the claws. He countered the attack with an attack of his own, as Enok twisted his waist in mid-air and drew his sword.

Swoosh─!!!!

Crack…! The claws and legs were severed simultaneously, making Cerberus flinch.

With its three heads completely unguarded, Enok snapped his fingers.

With the Heavenly Carnage Thunder God Technique, he successfully manifested the Railgun. Still needing to trigger by snapping his fingers, the substitute wasn’t completely replaced yet, but this was sufficient.

Boom!

Three Railguns blasted off the three heads. The headless body of Cerberus stiffened and collapsed to the ground.

Boom—!

Ignoring the screaming human man in the trembling cave, Enok trotted over to Rionne.

“I won, Rionne.”

“Yeah! Our Enok is amazing!”

“Reward.”

He confidently thrust his head forward.

“Hoho, good job, kiddo.”

A light, soft touch brushed against his forehead. Satisfaction brought a smile to my face. Rionne was smiling brightly too, which made me even happier.

A presence fluttered in the distance, approaching with a rustling sound. If I catch that, maybe I’ll get a reward too? And it could serve as training at the same time. Where else can I find such a lucrative chance?

If I had been trading like this, I would probably be the wealthiest person on the continent by now.

“Whoops? Who’s come to bother our little pup? A human and an elf…. Quite the strange combination, huh?”

I turned to the voice of a woman. Well, I tried to turn, but failed.

“Ah, no, Enok!”

Rionne tightly gripped Enok’s head, her eyes flitting with fear. But with those huge eyes of hers, everything was reflected. Enok tilted his head and looked at the woman’s reflection in Rionne’s eyes.

“Oh, I recognize that.”

A woman with horns on either side of her head and bat-like wings fluttering on her back. I seem to have heard of her somewhere. Especially that fabric that seems like it’s on or off for her mouth, I definitely remembered.

“T-That lewd succubus! Why didn’t you wear proper clothes!? Don’t show that disgusting flesh to our Enok!”

The demon that sucks the life force out of men, the succubus.
