Chapter 3: Train Accident
The girl appeared out of place, almost like she didn't belong to this whole place and moment yet at the same time she appears more important than anyone else standing here.
Her long dark hair hung loose around her shoulders and her pale skin seemed to glow under the sunlight. Her uniform is neat and clean starkly contrasting with the disarray around her and her expression was blank. The girl's eyes were also empty without any emotions or brightness and completely devoid of human emotions but despite this tears were falling from her eyes.
There's no expression on her face yet her tears look so real and painful. She walks like a puppet being controlled like she doesn't have any control over her body except for her tears.
The only thing genuine and real about her was her tears as she walked passed in front of me.
I felt like holding her hand, stopping her and helping her from what she's going through but the eerie feeling intensified as she gets closer to me.
Noah's instincts were screaming out loudly to get as far away as possible from this girl but the humanity within him and his emotions resisted the urge to run away, they urged him to help her. She was wearing the same school uniform as those High school students with frameless glasses and a ponytail. Her face looked like it was slowly losing blood.
Noah decided to listen to his instincts as he never felt them scream so loudly in his mind telling him to run, he tried to move his legs to get as far away from this place as possible from this place but his legs felt heavy. He couldn't move his legs at all, as if someone had placed a heavy weight on his legs and holding his legs to the road tightly.
The girl walked right past him without even looking at him or anyone else. She didn't make any odd movements or say anything, just kept walking.
She didn't join the high school students who were searching for something around the railway track nor did she assist in the search. Within minutes, she crossed the railway crossing and disappeared into the crowd ahead. What's her destination no one knows not even herself.
After the girl left the railway crossing, strength returned to his legs they no longer felt heavy as before nor he felt that eerie feeling that kept on intensified but Noah fail to notice his surrounding atmosphere as just as girl disappeared the sun light become less visible as dark cloud start to gather along with numerous vultures flying in sky.
Just as girl leave this place man who was holding dead man hand aberrantly stood up, he has this small maniac like smile on his face, he eyes had look of madness in them yet tears were continue fall from his eyes.
Both of these men were wearing normal office clothes. The crying man has short black hair and looks to be around in his 30s, he looks like a normal white man.
Then he slowly starts to walk towards the crossing, people who were standing around the dead man try to stop him as he was the only person who can them any kind of information about the dead man but he didn't stopped and just kept on walking.
As the man walks vultures in the sky to move too, flying in the circle as him in centre like all the planet orbit around sun but everyone standing here failed to see this, they didn't raise their head to look sky is getting filled with vultures. Slowly and steadily they're blocking the sunlight with their wings.
When Noah looked at him, he didn't feel the eerie sensation he got from the girl with glasses. Noah took a few steps forward. He doesn't know he to step forward it just felt as natural as breathing air to him.
The man glanced at the train stopped at the crossing, the one on Noah's right side and on the first track. He stood behind the train wagon, extremely close to the buffer.
Noah was so much distracted by everything in front of him that he didn't even notice his friends Lucas and Dáithí were calling his name.
Lucas and Dáithí get on the scooter to go home. They had enough for today and just want to go home.
"Why is he standing on the road like this?" Lucas said to Dáithí.
"Maybe he had a mental breakdown as he's not good under pressure and can't handle shit like this." Dáithí said with bit irritation as he fuck it up really badly today."
"What are you saying, dude? I know that he's not good with handling stressful situations but it doesn't mean he just had a mental breakdown just because that alcoholic was holding a shotgun." Lucas said to Dáithí.
"I don't know, maybe he just want to be part of the bystander here who's just watching chaos unfolded here, no-one cares about that dead man or those kids over there searching for some shit."
"Dáithí you said those bystanders don't care about anyone then what about you, you also don't care about them you didn't even try to help them or try to know the situation."
"Lucas, both of us don't care about them but at least we are not being part of the bystander, both of us just want to go home, unlike Noah. Who suddenly out of nowhere decided to be part of the bystander here."
Noah didn't hear his friends calling because he was completely focused on the man standing behind the train wagon buffer. Though they were some distance apart, the man was staring directly into his eyes.
As the man looked deep into his eyes, his smile widened while tears still flowed from his eyes. Noah started to hear the high school students' gibberish louder, their words making no sense. The scary part was that the students were far away, murmuring this gibberish under their breath, not loudly.
So, how can he still hear this gibberish? This time, Noah didn't feel the same eerie sensation as before, but rather an overwhelming sense of impending death.
Before he could run, scream, or call for help from his friends, a freight train came on the second track without sounding a siren to warn the high school students or the people helping them to move away.
The train hit the students and the people helping them, but just as it did, the ground beneath the second track suddenly collapsed. The train engine hit the ground, derailed from its track, and overturned along with its wagons.
The train wagons overturned and crushed the students on the third track or the first track and the people standing near both tracks. It plowed through the crowd, obliterating everything in its path.
The train engine destroying the crossing road moved toward the man standing behind the wagon buffer and crushed him like a watermelon, his body burst like exploding watermelon. As the train engine hit the other train, it got derailed and destroyed the alcoholic's house, continuing forward to destroy the old buildings around the railway track.
The scene was pure chaos and madness as people scattered and mangled remains lying everywhere.
When that crying man died his right body part got crushed between two trains while his left body burst like watermelon and his flesh exploded in air and his flesh spared out and fell onto the road. The train's impact obliterated him. His body was torn apart with a sickening splatter, flesh and blood exploding in a grotesque display. The stench of blood and burnt metal filled the air, mingling with the screams of the dying and the horrified cries of the survivors.
Some of it hit Noah's face and body for a few seconds. Noah couldn't even comprehend what just happened.
Noah was drenched in blood and gore, his mind spinning in a whirl of terror and disbelief. The sight of the man's remains, the wreckage, and the carnage left him paralyzed on the spot he was standing. The world spun into a nightmarish blur of red and darkness, leaving him to face the horrifying reality of the destruction before him.
Just as train derailed from the track and hit the first high school student vulture's dark feathers start to fall from their wings to the ground, feathers lying everywhere is they fell to ground, they only got scattered by strong gust of wind. If anyone had paid attention to this they would have seen tiny maggots crawling on the flesh and blood or screech of the numerous vultures big quit and not flying down on ground.
His mind went blank. After a few seconds, he started to scream out loud in fear and shock, his screams of horror blended together with all the people standing there who had lost their family and friends in the accident.
The man's flesh and blood slid off Noah's face and fell onto the road. A nauseous feeling began to rise in his stomach as he can smell and taste the men blood on his lips and tongue as his face painted red with that men blood and flesh as he screams blood drops get inside his mouth and he vomited in sheer terror. Noah fell to the ground, staring at the man's flesh and blood lying in front of him, the torn-apart remains of his body.
It was a really horrifying and gruesome death, lots of people died today.
Noah kept on remembering that smiling maniac face while tears were falling from his eyes.
Even after vomiting up his lunch from the morning, he was still nauseous, and his stomach hurt badly. Noah started gasping for air and continued to vomit the water left in his stomach, Noah's stomach hurts after vomiting a few times, it feels strength is leaving his body again.
Even though the road was dirty with his vomit and the flesh and blood of the victim, Noah still placed his hands on the ground to support himself. Just as he did, he felt something soft, a piece of flesh, blood, and a hard object beneath his left palm—it might have been that person's bone. Noah became fearful and disgusted, and the nauseous feeling returned.
In the midst of the flesh and blood, he saw a golden piece of jewellery with a black thread passing through a hole, Noah looked at this weird looking jewellery.
Noah starts to lose his consciousness as everything that happened was too much for him, he can't deal with this type of tragic situation.
Noah lost his consciousness but before he could fall his both friends held him together not letting him fall on his face on the road.
Whole area got crowded as a train accident happened here, some of them got here to help people who are injured and help those who were buried in their broken house but most were just bystanders.
Who were just standing there without doing anything, just watching chaos unfold before their eyes.
Noah slowly opens his eyes in the darkroom, he sees his surroundings and sees that it's his own bedroom but no one else is in his room, he don't see Dáithí on his bed.
Noah looks outside and it's already night time, he goes to the living room but still can't find Dáithí, he starts to get anxious.
He searches for his phone and soon finds his phone on his study table, in his phone he reads Dáithí text message.
"Me and Lucas are on the terrace, if you wake up come and join us up here."
