Pokemon: The Untamed Journey

Seeing the two Cottonees behaving strangely, Eldegoss paced anxiously.

Just moments ago, the pair had been playing a mock battle, inspired by the training sessions of Swampert and Ceruledge.

They had been using Razor Leaf to intercept each other's attacks, imitating the clash between the powerhouse Swampert and the precise, disciplined Ceruledge.

It was a fun way to train different from their usual playful games.

However, suddenly, both Cottonee stopped moving, curling up on the ground, trembling slightly.

The other Pokémon gathered around in confusion.

Eldegoss, seeing no solution, had sent Growlithe to wake Kai up.

Now, crouching beside them, Kai examined the Cottonee carefully.

No visible wounds

No signs of illness

They were perfectly healthy

Then why are they like this?

Just as he was trying to figure it out, a system notification appeared in his mind.

[The two Cottonees appear to be in distress, but in reality, they are about to evolve.]

"Evolution…?"

Kai's eyes widened.

Before he could react further, something happened a brilliant white light suddenly engulfed both Cottonee, wrapping their bodies in a radiant glow.

"This is… evolution!"

His mind clicked.

It all made sense. The overwhelming energy of evolution was putting too much strain on their small bodies, making them curl up instinctively as they adjusted.

Bathed in a sacred evolutionary light, the Cottonee's forms slowly changed their small, fluffy bodies grew slightly larger, their leafy extensions became wilder and curlier, and the cotton on their heads swelled into a large, billowy cloud-like mass.

Eldegoss, who had been frozen in worry, suddenly felt pure joy.

Its two little partners had finally evolved!

Finally, no more babysitting! (This thought must be erased immediately…)

Moments later, the glowing radiance faded, revealing two fully evolved Whimsicott.

Their once-small forms had grown, their delicate cotton fluff had expanded, and they now had mischievous grins, their playful eyes shining with excitement.

[Congratulations! The Cottonee has evolved into Whimsicott!]

The system chimed in, mimicking a game-style notification.

The newly evolved Whimsicott immediately started testing their bodies, spinning and bouncing lightly as their cottony forms floated in the air effortlessly.

Unlike their naive, playful pre-evolution selves, they now had a mischievous, sprightly air, exuding playful energy.

After a moment of adjustment, they descended before Kai, their expressions full of gratitude.

"Whimsi~cott!"

Their voices carried pure appreciation.

If it weren't for Kai's farm, the safe and nurturing environment, and the stable supply of food, they wouldn't have evolved so quickly.

Kai smiled warmly. "Congratulations on evolving, Whimsicott!"

The other Pokémon gathered around, offering their congratulations in their own ways.

Kai caught a certain glint in the eyes of some of them.

The Poliwag leader and its three followers, as well as Growlithe, all showed subtle hints of longing.

They wanted to evolve too.

For the Poliwag, evolution was simple they would naturally evolve once they reached the right level.

Hisuian Growlithe, however, still had a long way to go. It hadn't even been a week since it hatched.

'When the time is right, I'll find a high-quality Fire Stone to ensure it gets the best possible energy boost for evolution. For now, he would let it grow naturally and focus on building its strength.'

The evolution of the Cottonee pair had infused new vitality into the farm.

With two additional Whimsicott, not only was Eldegoss' workload reduced, but the farm's agricultural expansion could now proceed more smoothly.

That evening, Kai called Swampert over to help move five large crates of freshly harvested crops to the farm's entrance.

Dialing a number, he waited.

Soon, the deep rumble of an engine echoed from within Los Platos, and a small cargo truck approached the farm's gate.

A sharp honk rang out.

Then… a furry head poked out of the driver's side window.

Kai blinked.

Instead of a human, a Primeape was sitting in the driver's seat, gripping the steering wheel like a seasoned pro.

Primeape: (▼へ▼メ) (Where is the fucker!!!)

Kai: (⊙_⊙) …Wait, what?!

'Where the hell is the actual driver?!'

Before Kai could process the absurdity of the situation, the truck's rear doors swung open, and a burly man with a thick beard stepped out, yawning.

The man stretched, rubbing his eyes before scanning the farm.

Taking in the old, worn-down fences and the rustic charm of the fields, his drowsiness vanished instantly. His eyes gleamed with curiosity.

"So this is the abandoned farm everyone's been talking about? Can't believe someone actually took it over!"

Squatting down beside the fence, he examined the old wooden beams, muttering to himself.

"This thing's ancient… Even a Caterpie could probably break through it."

Primeape rolled its eyes. Without hesitation, it jumped down from the truck, marched up behind the man, and raised its fist.

A brightly glowing Brick Break formed in its palm.

Then—SMACK!

"Gahh—!!"

The man and Kai both winced.

The man shot up, clutching his head in pain, about to complain only for Primeape to grab his ear and drag him toward Kai.

Forced into a bow, the man greeted Kai awkwardly.

Primeape, on the other hand, gave a proper, respectful nod, as if apologizing for its companion's rude remarks.

Kai was at a complete loss.

"…Are you sure you two don't have your roles reversed?"

A moment later, the man finally looked at the crates of fresh produce. His eyes widened in surprise.

"Whoa… Peter wasn't kidding. These crops look fantastic!"
