Chapter 363: Chapter 45: The Coming Power of God
"Summon Thunder Bomb?!" Lorelei's eyes widened slightly as she heard Ash's command. A flicker of doubt crossed her face.
She had never encountered or heard of a move called Calling Thunder Bullet.
"Could it be… a new move developed by Ash? Like Aerial Ace Secret Skill or the Unnamed Triple Strike?" Lorelei's expression grew more focused as she recalled these innovative techniques.
"Slowbro, stay alert!" Lorelei didn't interrupt Ash's move. Instead, she decided to observe its true power, issuing only a cautious reminder to her Pokémon.
---
On the battlefield, Pikachu's eyes glimmered with arcs of electricity. As it charged up, the intensity of the lightning caused the entire stadium to dim. Thunder and lightning surged from Pikachu, reaching high into the sky.
In an instant, dark clouds gathered, casting a shadow over the stadium. The roar of thunder echoed as lightning streaked across the clouds, creating a breathtaking and oppressive scene.
The crowd collectively held their breath, staring skyward. A heavy atmosphere seemed to press down on everyone, a sensation that sent shivers down their spines.
"This… What is this?!"
Lorelei's pupils shrank in shock as she watched the swirling thunderclouds. From within the dark mass of clouds, a colossal dragon-shaped head formed, composed entirely of crackling lightning.
The dragon's head emerged, its glowing eyes radiating power as it gazed down upon the stadium like a deity judging mere mortals.
"This… This isn't a normal move!" Lorelei muttered. "It's not like the Aerial Ace Secret Skill or the Unnamed Triple Strike. No, this move… contains divine power!"
---
At that moment, Pikachu's electric pouches sparked furiously, unleashing arcs of energy as it exerted its control.
The thunder dragon opened its immense jaws, and from its maw, a concentrated sphere of lightning began to form.
A split second later, the sphere shot downward, heading straight for Slowbro with unparalleled speed.
The sheer force broke through Slowbro's Psychic barrier as if it were nothing, the attack slamming into the ground with explosive power.
A deafening roar filled the air as the Calling Thunder Bullet detonated, creating a towering pillar of lightning that engulfed Slowbro entirely.
Within the pillar, Slowbro's silhouette flickered faintly amidst the blinding energy.
The entire sequence—from the formation of the dragon's head to the impact of the lightning sphere—happened in a mere two seconds, leaving most of the audience stunned and unresponsive.
---
"Slowbro!" Lorelei called out anxiously. She tried to discern Slowbro's condition, but the intense lightning made it impossible to see clearly.
Pikachu, meanwhile, was visibly drained from the effort. Though it had managed to execute the attack, the strain of controlling the Calling Thunder Bullet took a significant toll on its stamina.
As the lightning began to dissipate, the battlefield came into view. Sparks of electricity lingered, scattering across the field and creating an Electric Terrain that continued to crackle faintly.
In the center of the charred battlefield stood Slowbro, its body scorched and smoking. Blue energy flickered faintly around it, signaling the loss of some of its stat modifiers.
Slowbro was battered and breathing heavily. Though it remained conscious, it was clear the attack had inflicted severe damage, leaving it barely able to stand.
---
Lorelei's eyes narrowed as she assessed the situation. "To think… a Silver-level Pikachu could push Slowbro to this point with just one move!"
Moreover, the move wasn't just powerful—it left behind a battlefield-altering effect. The Electric Terrain continued to amplify Pikachu's Electric-type moves.
Still, Lorelei noticed Pikachu's labored breathing and shaky stance. It was evident that this move was a tremendous burden on Pikachu's body, making it difficult to use repeatedly.
"So there's still a chance…" Lorelei murmured, her determination reigniting.
On the other side of the battlefield, Ash clenched his fists. Though he was pleased with Pikachu's performance, he couldn't hide his surprise.
"Even after all that, Slowbro is still standing…" Ash muttered. "The gap in strength is still too big."
Ash knew that the Calling Thunder Bullet was not at its full potential. Pikachu's current strength limited its ability to unleash the technique's true power.
Against a Pokémon of Slowbro's caliber, even with the advantage of Light Ball and type effectiveness, one strike wasn't enough to secure victory.
---
"Slowbro, use Slack Off!" Lorelei commanded, seizing the opportunity to recover.
Slowbro's body began to glow with a soothing light as Normal-type energy coursed through it. The move worked quickly, healing some of the burns and restoring its stamina.
Ash realized the danger immediately. If Slowbro fully recovered, Pikachu wouldn't have enough strength to keep up.
"Pikachu, don't let it recover! Use the Calling Thunder Bomb again!" Ash shouted, waving his arm.
"Pika… chu!" Pikachu growled, summoning every ounce of its remaining energy. The dragon-shaped head reappeared in the thunderclouds, roaring as another massive sphere of lightning formed within its jaws.
This time, the attack launched even faster, streaking downward before Lorelei could issue another command.
---
The lightning sphere struck with precision, creating yet another thunderous explosion. A second pillar of lightning rose into the sky, engulfing Slowbro entirely.
The crowd shielded their eyes from the blinding light as the battlefield trembled from the impact.
When the lightning finally faded, Slowbro lay motionless on the ground, its body covered in soot. It had fainted, unable to withstand the overwhelming power of Pikachu's second attack.
---
Pikachu, too, collapsed onto the field, panting heavily. Though it remained conscious, it was clear it could no longer continue fighting.
Above the battlefield, the thunder dragon head slowly dissipated as the storm clouds parted. Sunlight streamed into the stadium once again, illuminating the aftermath of the intense battle.
---
The referee, recovering from the shock, raised his flag and announced, "Slowbro is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!"
Cheers erupted from the audience, their excitement uncontainable. With elite-level strength, Pikachu had defied expectations, crossing two levels to defeat one of Lorelei's Elite-level Pokémon.
Though exhausted, Pikachu had proven itself worthy of the title of Ash's strongest partner.
