Panex Building
In the top-floor chairman's office, Ben Sullivan returned to deliver his report to Charles Sullivan about Ethan Grave's unyielding stance.
"Brother, are we planning to increase our investment?" Ben asked cautiously. "Or should we pivot? Ethan mentioned he's open to channel cooperation. With the two new species he's unveiled, Pokémon Biotechnology clearly has a bright future."
He hesitated before adding, "One more thing, Ethan made it clear he won't cooperate with us unless we divest completely from Ciguli. He's adamant that this is non-negotiable."
Ben shook his head, letting out a wry smile. "This might be the most uncompromising company Panex Group has ever dealt with."
Charles leaned back in his chair, his sharp features framed by long black hair, giving him an air of dramatic intensity. Despite his casual pose, with his legs propped on the desk, his eyes burned with frustration.
"Heh," Charles sneered. "Ethan thinks he can use Northam Group to pressure us? Who does he think he is?"
With a sudden burst of anger, he kicked a laptop off the desk, sending it clattering to the floor. Ben flinched but kept his gaze lowered, avoiding his brother's fiery glare. Charles's infamous temper was well-known within the company, and few dared to confront him directly. Only Secretary Sloan had managed to endure his volatility, outlasting a string of predecessors.
Charles exhaled sharply, regaining his composure as quickly as he had lost it. "He refuses to sell, Fine. He doesn't want investment, Fine. But to demand we divest from Ciguli? The audacity!"
Ben waited in tense silence as his brother brooded, finally breaking the stillness with a measured question. "Brother, what's our next move?"
Charles's tone was cold and decisive. "Effective immediately, prohibit all channel cooperation with Pokémon Biotechnology. Instruct all Biolife Alliance advertisers to sever ties with them as well."
Ben nodded, understanding the implications. The Biolife Alliance controlled more than half of the domestic advertising market, and it was a figure that was still growing. Cutting off Pokémon Biotechnology from this network could significantly hinder their expansion.
"Also," Charles continued, "find a couple of reliable people to infiltrate his lab. We need intel on his processes and future plans."
"Understood," Ben said.
Charles leaned forward, a sly smile crossing his face. "Oh, and about the Biolife Alliance conference, schedule it for the same day as the International Gene Biology Academic Exchange Conference."
Ben blinked, surprised. "The same day?"
"Exactly," Charles replied firmly. "If we're hosting the first Alliance conference, it needs to make a statement. The timing and venue should rival the symposium. We'll hold it at the same location, showcasing our dominance."
Ben hesitated but nodded. "Understood."
Charles's reasoning was clear. The International Gene Biology Symposium was a prestigious global event, attracting the best minds in genetic research. Recently, Charles had faced criticism from scholars, some mocking him as a "businessman" meddling in scientific fields. Hosting the Biolife Alliance conference in tandem was his way of asserting his place in the industry.
"And," Charles added with a smirk, "if possible, coordinate to host our event inside the symposium itself. Let them see us up close."
Ben sighed inwardly but replied in a measured tone. "I'll make the arrangements."

Pokémon Biotechnology Company
A few days later, Pokémon Biotech received official certification for their new genetic organism, Squirtle. Ethan called a company-wide meeting to share the news.
"The company is growing faster than ever," Ethan began, addressing the enthusiastic room. "We've surpassed 100 employees, with new hires joining us every day. HR can barely keep up!"
The room chuckled, but Ethan's focus quickly shifted to the future. "Our next big step is marketing. Squirtle, our water manipulator, needs a grand introduction. Annie, I want you to lead a team to Lab No. 2. We'll shoot promotional videos and photos and prepare a comprehensive launch campaign."
The excitement in the room was palpable, but Ethan wasn't done. "I'm also planning a collaboration with the Tarvok City Fire Department. Imagine Squirtle firefighters aiding in real-world emergencies. This will not only showcase Squirtle's capabilities but also underline our company's commitment to making a positive societal impact."
The room buzzed with murmurs of approval, but Ethan had more to share. "The tech department needs to prioritize launching our new website. It will serve as the exclusive hub for our genetic creations. This is the reason I renamed the company, it's time for Pokémon to become a global brand."
Pausing to let the vision sink in, Ethan continued. "Looking ahead, I want us to acquire land, a pasture, a hill, or even a park. We'll build a Pokémon sanctuary where people can interact with our creations firsthand. It won't just be a marketing initiative; it will establish Pokémon as a living, breathing intellectual property."
He scanned the room, gauging reactions. The energy was electric as employees whispered excitedly about the ambitious plans.
"And finally," Ethan added, "we'll develop something akin to a catalogue, I call it a Pokédex, it would be a comprehensive database cataloging every Pokémon we create. It will include detailed descriptions, training guides, and more. Eventually, we'll pair it with a mobile app for real-time recognition and interaction."
The room erupted into applause. Amidst the cheers, Ethan chuckled and raised his hands for silence. "Wait a second, no one's talking about Squirtle! What's going on? This is really starnge"
Annie grinned. "Mr. Grave, you've spoiled us. You hinted at a new species weeks ago, so we've been ready for it. Honestly, it's just another example of your brilliance."
