Chapter 110: Chapter 110
**Chapter 110: Don't Want to Offend the Other Party**
Zhao Ling landed the Cloud Piercing Shuttle on the outskirts of the Sunset Forest, about a hundred miles from Tiandou Imperial City.
Standing at the bow, he gazed into the dense forest, debating whether to claim the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye for himself first. After all, the Eye housed countless immortal herbs—treasures that could significantly benefit not only him but also Ah Yin and Dong'er.
He had recently acquired the *Xuantian Baolu* from the system and was confident it would help him identify the herbs within the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye. Zhao Ling planned to harvest the mature ones for his storage space, leaving the immature herbs to continue growing.
Unlike ordinary storage soul guides, Zhao Ling's storage space had a unique feature: it preserved the condition of items as if time had stopped entirely. Anything placed within it remained as fresh as the moment it was stored.
This discovery came by chance. While in Soto City, Zhao Ling had bought some hot buns as snacks for Ah Yin. However, Ah Yin had fallen asleep upon reaching the Great Fighting Soul Arena, so he tossed the buns into his storage space. Days later, when sorting through his inventory, he found the buns still steaming hot and perfectly fresh.
Though thrilled with the preservation function, Zhao Ling lamented one limitation: his storage space couldn't hold living creatures. Nevertheless, it was an invaluable tool for maintaining the quality of items indefinitely.
With this in mind, Zhao Ling resolved to visit the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye that night, gather mature herbs, and leave the rest untouched.
Returning to the cabin, he found Ah Yin sitting under a lamp, engrossed in *The Queen Ran Away with the Baby,* occasionally chuckling to herself. Beside her, Bo Saixi was equally absorbed in *The Domineering Prince Falls in Love with Me.* The two women occasionally exchanged amused remarks about their respective books.
Zhao Ling sighed. "Yin'er, your husband needs to step out for a while. Want to join me?"
Without even glancing up, Ah Yin waved dismissively. "No, no, I'm busy. You go ahead."
A bit disheartened, Zhao Ling muttered to himself. 'Ah Yin is so captivated by a storybook that she doesn't even want to accompany me?' He glanced at Bo Saixi, only to quickly look away. 'Forget it. If Ah Yin won't bother, why expect attention from someone like Bo Saixi, who barely tolerates me?'
With no one accompanying him, Zhao Ling disembarked alone and headed into the depths of the Sunset Forest.
Years ago, he wouldn't have dared venture into the forest alone, especially at night. While it wasn't as perilous as the Star Dou Great Forest, the Sunset Forest still teemed with tens of thousands of soul beasts and, occasionally, beasts that had survived for over 100,000 years.
But Zhao Ling was no longer the same. For him, even a 100,000-year-old soul beast wasn't much of a threat.
As he advanced, low-level soul beasts, such as pig and wolf soul beasts of a hundred- or thousand-year level, began to trail him. Attracted by the scent of blood lingering on him, they mistakenly saw him as an easy target.
Zhao Ling, however, had no patience for these minor annoyances. A self-proclaimed carnivore, he slaughtered the beasts without hesitation and stored their meat in his space. He imagined roasting their flesh later, seasoned with oil, cumin, and chili powder—a delicacy to savor.
The monotony of dispatching minor soul beasts was briefly interrupted by a pack of Nether Wolves. Though weak individually, they hunted in groups and circled Zhao Ling cautiously, unsure of his strength. His lack of visible soul rings made them think he was an ordinary human.
Yet, as they hovered just out of reach, Zhao Ling grew tired of their games. Releasing a fraction of his Titled Douluo aura, he sent shockwaves through the pack. The weaker wolves collapsed, trembling, while stronger soul beasts in the distance fled in terror.
Originally, Zhao Ling intended to let the Nether Wolves go. But remembering the abundance of meat already in his storage, he reconsidered. Walking up to the Nether Wolf King, a beast no older than 800 years, Zhao Ling observed its trembling form with disdain.
The Wolf King instinctively cowered, unable to muster the courage to flee. It buried its head in submission, overwhelmed by Zhao Ling's aura.
"Relax," Zhao Ling said mockingly, slapping the Wolf King's head several times until it swelled like it had been stung by bees.
With a smirk, he added, "You'd better remember my face and scent. If I catch you or your pack tailing me again, I'll make sure to skin you alive."
The Nether Wolf King whimpered in acknowledgment, watching helplessly as Zhao Ling disappeared deeper into the forest. Once the terrifying human was out of sight, the Wolf King howled frantically, signaling its pack to retreat.
Though lacking intelligence, the Wolf King understood it had been spared—not out of mercy but as a warning. The aura Zhao Ling exuded was far stronger than anything in the heart of the Sunset Forest. Vengeance was out of the question. Its only option was to flee and avoid ever crossing paths with that human again.
