One Piece: Voyager of the Sea

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Life of Being Kicked off the Ship (Part 2)

Accompanied by a scream, the man released Jialai. Seizing the opportunity before the other two could react, Jialai quickly ran backward, the taste of blood in her mouth making her want to vomit.

She hadn't expected the seemingly small Jialai to be so fierce. The other two finally came to their senses and chased after her, their footsteps leaving more prints on the scattered hats.

Damn it! I'm too slow! Jialai exerted all her strength, but when she glanced back, the two pursuers were barely a finger's distance away from catching her. Her eyes caught the corner ahead, and without hesitation, she turned sharply.

Bang! Unfortunately, Jialai was knocked away and crashed directly into the two people chasing her. Everything spun as her vision blurred. Before she could recover, someone grabbed her arm and landed a heavy punch to her face, making the world spin even more violently.

The intense pain kept her conscious. Jialai didn't know whether to be relieved or not. She struggled with all her might, but was still thrown harshly onto the hard ground. The impact made her instinctively let out a muffled groan, and she could feel someone's foot pressing against her back. It was the person she had collided with earlier, but now, she had no energy left to care about that. She barely managed to open her eyes, staring at the three men before her.

"Damn woman!" The man who had been bitten by Jialai earlier caught up, furious, and stepped forward, ready to give her a beating.

Jialai resigned herself and closed her eyes…

"Jialai." A familiar voice sounded in her ear. It was Bepo. Jialai thought she was hallucinating, but as she slowly opened her eyes, she saw Bepo's phantom.

Only when she saw Jebalu beating the three men so severely that they were unrecognizable did Jialai realize it wasn't a hallucination.

No wonder it didn't hurt earlier. Jialai wanted to smile, but when she had been thrown onto the ground, her back had hurt terribly. As she smiled, she realized her face hurt even worse. When she lightly touched her cheek, it was swollen, looking like a steamed bun.

"Captain, Jialai seems to be seriously injured." Bepo's voice sounded again. At his words, Jialai snapped back to her senses, and disregarding the pain, she struggled to stand up, head bowed. "I'm fine," she murmured, not daring to look up at any of them.

Jebalu returned, holding a paper bag. "Jialai, this is yours."

"Thank you." With Bepo's support, Jialai stood up, attempting to straighten her back. The pain was so intense that beads of cold sweat appeared on her forehead.

"Jialai, where are you going?" Bepo and Jebalu walked behind her, watching as she moved forward.

"I originally planned to say goodbye to you all. I even bought a small gift for you." Jialai forced a smile, and the group arrived at the place where the hats had fallen. She squatted down, picked up a hat, and stood up. The simple movements made her sweat profusely.

"You bought us hats?" Bepo seemed delighted, reaching for the hat.

Jialai awkwardly clenched the hat tighter. "It's dirty now. Forget about it." Who would still want to give a gift when they looked this miserable, especially with them seeing her in such a pathetic state?

"No, I think it looks great," Bepo said cheerfully, grabbing the hat, which had originally been white but was now streaked with black and gray. He dusted it off and placed it on his head. "It fits perfectly."

Jialai slightly raised her head to look at Bepo, whose already fluffy head was now topped with the gray-black hat, making him look comically cute.

She hadn't expected Bepo, who was originally an animal, to be so considerate. Jialai felt her eyes burn with unshed tears, but she forced out a smile. "I'm glad you like it." She then gave the other hat, which was originally white, a firm pat and handed it to Jebalu.

Jebalu hesitated before taking it. "I don't like wearing hats." When he saw the disappointment in Jialai's eyes, he immediately placed it on his head.

A big guy wearing a cute hat. Jialai couldn't help but laugh despite the sharp pain in her face.

"Jebalu, I don't think hats suit you," Jialai said, gesturing for him to take it off. But both Jebalu and Bepo noticed the beret with gray dots in Jialai's hands.

"That hat looks nice." Both of them liked the beret.

"This one is…" Jialai glanced at the person standing not far away but couldn't bear to look at his expression. She tightened her grip on the hat. "It's for me."

"Let's go back." Luo's voice suddenly cut in from the side, and he, along with the others behind him, began to walk.

"Jialai, come to the ship to treat your wounds." Bepo kindly suggested.

"No, it's… I was planning to say goodbye at the port." Jialai's voice choked. "Since I've met you here… there's no need to go to the port."

But Jebalu wouldn't listen. He grabbed her hand and pulled her forward, making her stumble. Seeing her pained expression, Jebalu simply threw her onto his back and effortlessly carried her.

Bepo followed behind, and the two of them occasionally asked about Jialai's experiences from the past day.

Though they had known each other for only a short time, meeting them again felt like reuniting with family. Though she had only been away for a day, it felt as if much longer had passed. As Jialai lay on Jebalu's back, tears couldn't help but fall.
