One Piece: My code name is Green Bull

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: The Donquixote Family’s Top Executives

Suddenly, massive trees burst out from the ground. They sprang up as if uprooted and grew at an astonishing rate, covering a radius of over 100 meters. Every pirate within this range was trapped in the rapidly growing forest.

Within seconds, the once barren ground transformed into a dense forest. But the real horror for the pirates was just beginning.

The trees that shot up from the ground didn't just grow rapidly—they attacked.

The massive trees crushed the pirates, and sharp wooden spikes pierced their bodies like blades, impaling them high above the ground.

In just a dozen seconds, more than half of the pirates were dead. Their blood stained the trees red, and countless corpses hung suspended in the air until the forest finally stopped growing.

Everyone present—whether Navy or pirate—was stunned by the sudden scene. The Navy soldiers stopped shooting, staring at Jon in disbelief, their faces full of shock.

The pirates, meanwhile, were utterly terrified. In an instant, a forest had sprung up—an eerie, deadly forest capable of killing people. More than 80% of their 100-man crew had been wiped out by this single attack.

When the trees stopped growing, the tallest among them exceeded 10 meters, thick and sturdy.

This was Jon's first time unleashing his powers at full strength. Fueled by rage, he had pushed the ability to its limits, making this his most powerful large-scale attack to date.

Although it wasn't as fast or as vast in scope as Hashirama Senju's "Birth of the Forest" from legends, Jon's version was far more aggressive once formed.

He could control the forest he created, directing every tree to attack simultaneously—an undeniably devastating power.

Moments ago, some pirates had dodged the trees that erupted from the ground, only to be skewered by branches that struck them with deadly precision.

This was only possible because of Jon's exceptional mastery of Observation Haki, which allowed him to sense the exact positions of his enemies. His mental energy was strong enough to control multiple attacks at once.

Without such potent Haki, the attack's effectiveness would have been halved.

Combining his Devil Fruit ability with Observation Haki had always been Jon's strategy. And now, it was clear that this choice was correct—the larger the battlefield, the more powerful his Observation Haki became.

The attack had been deadly enough, but the cost was enormous. After using the ability, Jon's face had turned pale, and sweat dripped down his forehead.

Whether it was creating such a massive forest or using so much Observation Haki, it had drained him greatly.

His body felt hollowed out, and his head throbbed in pain.

But Jon didn't care about the negative effects. Instead, he felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. Killing those pirates felt like he had done something good—it soothed his soul and cleared his mind.

"Ensign Jon... you... you..."

Major Matt was so shocked that he couldn't finish his sentence. This attack had completely overturned his understanding of combat—he had never seen such a unique and terrifying attack before.

"These people deserved to die, didn't they?"

Jon slowly stood up but staggered. Fortunately, Pemberton was quick enough to catch him.

"Jon, are you alright?"

Pemberton was also shocked, but he handled it better than the others. He had seen Jon's abilities before—though this was the first time he had witnessed the full power of Jon's "Forest Birth."

"I'm fine. I just need to recover."

Jon closed his eyes, ignoring the pain in his head, and spread his Observation Haki, instantly covering a vast area.

Thanks to his diligent training, Jon could quickly communicate with the surrounding plants and absorb their energy.

Unseen by others, plants within a kilometer radius slowly withered, their life energy converting into pure vitality and surging into Jon's body.

However, Jon deliberately avoided draining the larger trees, as they had taken years to grow. He didn't want to rob them of their life force. Instead, he focused on seasonal plants and flowers. Though they provided less energy individually, their sheer numbers made up for it.

As life energy flowed into him, Jon's stamina recovered rapidly.

The Navy soldiers watched in shock but were also reinvigorated by the sight. The pirates, on the other hand, were overwhelmed by despair and fear.

The battle had started with a gunfight, and Coleman had been preparing to order his men to charge. But in the blink of an eye, a forest had sprung up, and the trees themselves began attacking.

Coleman had watched helplessly as his subordinates were slaughtered one by one. If not for his own considerable strength, allowing him to cut down the attacking branches, he would have been among the dead.

Though the trees had stopped moving, most of his men had already died in the forest.

Fear and rage twisted Coleman's face. He had never experienced anything like this before—he was close to losing his mind.

Surrounded by towering trees, he felt an overwhelming sense of dread. Without thinking, he turned and fled out of the forest.

When Coleman finally escaped the forest, he was horrified to see that of his once large crew, only about 20 men had made it out with him. The rest had perished among the trees.

"%&##!!"**

A stream of curses poured from Coleman's mouth. He was terrified. There were monsters like this in the Navy? This was nothing like the Navy officers he had encountered in the North Blue.

"What do we do?"

Coleman was paralyzed with indecision. Having lost most of his crew without even seeing his enemy's face, even this ruthless pirate captain felt the urge to flee.

As Coleman hesitated, some of his subordinates were already considering betrayal.

In a secluded corner of the forest, four pirates huddled together.

These four pirates varied in height and build. One of them, a man wearing a snot-like cloak, a hat, and sunglasses, was speaking.

"Diamante, Vergo, Pica—you've all seen it. Coleman's in serious trouble this time. He's provoked a powerful Navy officer—this might be the end for him."

A boy who looked no older than ten, with glasses and rice balls stuck to his face, spoke calmly:

"We've known for a long time that Coleman is nothing special. He's not the leader we're looking for."

"Vergo's right. Coleman is useless. We never should have joined him in the first place."

Diamante snorted in disdain. He had never respected Coleman. The pirate captain treated them like kids and never viewed them as valuable assets, which was intolerable to these proud youths.

These four pirates were none other than the future top executives of the Donquixote Family:

Trebol, Vergo, Diamante, and Pica.

I see the various concerns about Jon's strength in the comments and to that I want to say he is still growing as a character and how to use his fruit properly.
