One Piece : Captain, We’ve Arrived at Laugh Tale

Chapter 10: Chapter 10 : Luffy, Keep This Lion

Buggy had no time to defend himself and took a direct hit to the nose. Bright red blood flowed out, about to drip, making him scream in pain.

However, this guy was also quite cunning.

"Is this straw hat important to you? If so, then I'll..." Buggy said, suddenly thrusting a dagger-filled hand toward Luffy's back, aiming for the straw hat.

"Luffy, watch out!" Zoro quickly warned.

But Luffy didn't dodge at all. Instead, he let the dagger strike the straw hat. A metallic ding rang out as Buggy's hand and dagger bounced off, leaving the hat completely unharmed.

Luffy raised his hand to press down on the straw hat, hiding his expression. His tone carried a hint of anger.

"Hey, Buggy, were you trying to destroy my treasure? The promise I made with Shanks? I won't forgive you! I'm gonna beat you up right here!"

Buggy's face was filled with disbelief.

"No way! How did my dagger not pierce the hat?! It just bounced off!"

Luffy chuckled. "Hee hee, Teacher Carl always taught me that my straw hat is something I must protect. So, I always wrap it in Armament Haki."

"Armament Haki?! You know Haki?! A kid from the East Blue learned Haki?! Are you an idiot?! Who the hell wastes Haki just to protect a hat?!"

Buggy was completely shaken.

The fact that Luffy knew Haki was shocking enough, but what made it even more ridiculous was that he used it just to protect his hat!

"But thanks to that, my treasure is safe!" Luffy said seriously.

Buggy was completely stunned and, in frustration, simply ordered his crew to attack. But deep down, he already knew—if Luffy could use Haki, even his entire crew wouldn't stand a chance.

A man on a unicycle rolled straight toward Zoro.

"Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro! I am Cabaji, chief of staff of the Buggy Pirates! Prepare yourself!"

Zoro grinned, excited to face another swordsman.

"Luffy, Teacher Carl, leave the swordsman to me!"

"Then I'll handle the tamer and the rest of the small fry! Captain Luffy, can I keep that lion as a pet?" Carl asked, looking eager for a fight.

Taking on Tamer Mohji and the other weaklings wasn't even a proper warm-up for Carl. But as a crew member, he wasn't about to just stand by. Besides, that lion seemed interesting—it might make a great mount.

Luffy nodded. "Alright, Teacher Carl, Zoro, handle it however you want! The big-nosed guy is mine!"

"Who are you calling big nose, you b*****d?!"

Buggy was furious, but deep down, he was still afraid of Luffy.

Meanwhile, Zoro had already started fighting Cabaji.

Cabaji was skilled in acrobatics, but his swordsmanship was mediocre.

In the past, Zoro might have struggled against him, but after three days of brutal training, he was a completely different person.

Compared to Carl's intense training, Cabaji's tricks were nothing more than child's play.

Sure enough, Zoro easily dodged Cabaji's fire-breathing and mist attacks, taking him down without even needing his Three-Sword Style.

"You're not strong enough to call yourself a swordsman," Zoro remarked.

On the other side, Carl wielded his massive black greats word and swept through the Buggy Pirates like a storm. Screams filled the air as the blade passed through, and when it returned behind Carl, not a single enemy was left standing—including Buggy's first mate, Mohji.

Carl then approached Richie the Lion, who froze in terror.

However, Richie understood human speech and immediately lay down in submission. Carl sat on its back without hesitation, securing himself a new mount.

"Cabaji! Mohji!"

Buggy was both furious and terrified.

His top two officers had been defeated just like that, and now he was facing a guy who knew Haki—this was bad!

Just then, Buggy caught sight of a certain orange-haired girl running off with his treasure. His anger boiled over, and he completely forgot about Luffy's strength.

"You dare steal my treasure? You're dead!"

Buggy launched himself at the girl, feet separating from his body as he flew toward her.

Nami's eyes widened in panic as Buggy closed in. She tried to dodge, but before Buggy could even finish his sentence—

BAM!

A fist slammed straight into his face.

"Your opponent is me!" Luffy declared.

He was ready to keep fighting, but there was no need—he had hit Buggy way too hard.

Buggy shot through the sky like a human comet, his feet still planted on the ground.

Luffy: "..."

And just like that, the Buggy problem was solved.

The Straw Hat Pirates not only wiped out the Buggy Pirates, but they also walked away with a ton of treasure and a new mount—definitely a big win.

Luffy, laughing as usual, sat down with Zoro to continue eating and drinking.

The fight hadn't even messed up the dining table—there was still plenty of food and booze left.

While the four were feasting, an old man in full armor rushed over.

But the moment he saw the scene before him, his angry expression vanished, replaced by confusion and disbelief.

"Hello, I'm the mayor of Orange Town. Did you guys defeat the Buggy Pirates?" he asked cautiously.

"Yeah, I sent Buggy flying!" Luffy replied casually.

"Really?! You defeated the Buggy Pirates?! That's amazing! The town is saved! By the way, I still don't know who you are."

"Oh, we're pirates!"

"Huh?! You're pirates too?!"

The mayor immediately tensed up. At that moment, a crowd of townspeople appeared behind him, standing in formation with fierce expressions, ready to fight.

"We're taking back our town! Pirates, get out!"

"We're taking back our town! Pirates, get out!"

The voices of the townspeople grew louder, their determination swelling.

But Luffy didn't get angry. Instead, he just laughed, stretched out his arms, and pulled all the food into his stomach. Carl, watching this, was speechless—especially when Luffy grabbed the food off his plate, too.

"Alright, guys, let's go."

With Luffy's command, Carl, Zoro, and Nami got up and started walking away. The townspeople warily stepped aside, keeping a close eye on them.

It wasn't until the four—and their lion—returned to their ship that the mayor suddenly ran after them, shouting his gratitude. Luffy flashed his usual carefree grin and waved goodbye.

"Nice town," Zoro remarked.

"Yeah, the town's good, and so are the people. They protect what's theirs," Luffy said with a relaxed smile.

His words made Nami pause.

She looked at Luffy deeply and clenched her fists.

She still had her doubts about Luffy—after all, he was a pirate.

But… he wasn't like the others.
