Naruto: You Call This A Medical Ninja?

Chapter 392: ### Chapter 392: Refusing Minato’s Invitation

The next day, as sunlight streamed into the room, Reiki slowly sat up. His body felt the strain of the previous day's exertion.

"Ah… pushing myself to the limit like that still takes a toll," Reiki muttered, stretching his arms. He stood, feeling the stiffness ease.

Just then, the door opened, and Shizune entered with a basin of hot water. Her face lit up when she saw him awake.

"Brother Reiki!" she exclaimed, hurrying over to check on him. She fussed over him, examining his vitals.

Reiki smiled gently. "It's okay, Shizune. I'm just a little tired. What I really need right now is something to eat."

Shizune brightened. "I'll prepare something right away. Oh, and… the teacher and Lord Minato are waiting for you in the living room. If you're not feeling up to it, just rest for now and eat first."

Reiki chuckled and ruffled her hair. "I'm fine, don't worry. I'll go see them now."

### A Conversation in the Living Room

When Reiki entered the living room, he found Tsunade and Minato seated together, deep in discussion.

"Teacher. Brother Minato," Reiki greeted them with a smile.

"Reiki," Minato said, his expression filled with concern, "how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine," Reiki replied casually. "But you're not here just to check on me, are you? Go ahead and ask what you want to ask."

Minato hesitated briefly before speaking. "Tsunade-sama and I have been discussing Konoha's future. We believe the village's management model needs to evolve."

"Wait a minute!" Reiki interrupted, raising his hands defensively. "Brother Minato, I'm just a medical ninja. Why are you telling me this? Don't involve me in administrative matters!"

Reiki's reaction was immediate. The idea of being roped into the bureaucracy and endless paperwork made his skin crawl.

Tsunade shot him a sharp look. "Reiki, do your best and listen to what the Acting Hokage has to say."

Under her glare, Reiki sighed and sat down. "Fine, fine. Go on."

### Minato's Vision for Konoha

Minato laid out his vision for Konoha's future. He emphasized three main points:

1. **Bridging the Gaps Between Clans**: The battle had shown the power of cooperation between clans. Minato proposed initiatives to strengthen their bonds and foster a stronger sense of unity within the village.

2. **Enhanced Training Programs**: Drawing from Hatake Sakumo's and Jiraiya's success with focused training regimens, Minato wanted to institutionalize concentrated training for ninjas, including specialized programs for medical ninjas.

3. **Distribution of Potions**: Minato raised a critical question about the potions developed by Tsunade and Reiki. "Should these potions remain exclusive to Konoha, or should we consider distributing them to other villages?"

Reiki responded immediately. "Keeping them exclusive to Konoha would backfire. If the news leaks, other villages will grow suspicious and hostile, possibly even uniting against us. It's better to sell them openly and generate goodwill—and income. Plus, we might face shared threats in the future, and these alliances could prove invaluable."

Minato nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense. Tsunade-sama, do you agree?"

Tsunade crossed her arms, nodding curtly. "Reiki's logic is solid."

[**Inner Tsunade**: *You really needed my opinion after that flawless explanation, Minato?*]

### Minato's Proposal to Reiki

Impressed by Reiki's insights, Minato stood and extended an invitation. "Reiki, would you consider working in the Hokage's office? Your perspective and skills would be invaluable for Konoha's development."

Reiki nearly choked. "No, absolutely not!"

Without waiting for a response, he approached Minato and began channeling healing chakra into him. "You've been running on fumes, Acting Hokage-sama. Let me at least fix that."

As Minato's energy visibly improved, Reiki grinned. "There, all better. Now, Acting Hokage-sama, I'm best suited as a medical ninja. The village needs me in that role. Administrative work isn't my thing."

Minato smiled warmly. "I understand. But remember, the Hokage's office will always have a place for you if you ever change your mind."

Turning to Tsunade, he added, "I'll leave things here to you, Tsunade-sama." With that, he disappeared in a blur of yellow light.

### After Minato Left

Reiki let out a deep sigh of relief, slumping into a chair. "Teacher, what was that about? Does he want me to abandon medical ninjutsu and become a bureaucrat?"

Tsunade smirked. "Don't worry. Minato just recognizes talent when he sees it. You're not just a medical ninja, Reiki—you're a monster of talent and potential. That's why people like Minato gravitate toward you."

Reiki groaned. "I'd rather stick to healing people than deal with village politics. Let's just leave it at that."

Tsunade chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Fine, fine. But don't be surprised if Minato keeps trying to recruit you. That's how he is."

As Shizune returned with a tray of food, the room settled into a comfortable silence. Despite Reiki's refusal, it was clear that both Tsunade and Minato held him in the highest regard.
