Naruto :Uchiha's Reincarnation

Chapter 42: Chapter 42 Newcomers

After Kato Dan and Tsunade had spent a few days at the camp, they left shortly after Haruto and his team successfully learned the Spiritual Activation Technique. Their duties as elite shinobi of the village called them back to the warfront, where they were still needed.

Before leaving, Tsunade handed over a hefty stack of medical books. Her instructions were clear: only by memorizing all the contents of these books could they hope to delve deeper into medical ninjutsu.

While the veterans departed, fresh arrivals appeared at the camp. In the aftermath of the recent battle, the front lines were suffering from strategic missteps. One notable mistake had been made by the commander, Mito Kadobu, which had forced most of Konoha's forces to retreat to the border of the Land of Fire.

Even though Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya managed to hold Hanzo at bay, preventing further disaster, Konoha had still suffered significant losses. Kato Dan, along with his comrades Kimu Kato and Mito Gate Flame, had disrupted Amegakure's logistics supply chain, forcing Hanzo to slow his advances. This eventually led to a temporary alliance between Hanzo and Konoha, with Konoha agreeing to provide logistical support.

Thus, a strong elite force was sent to reinforce the front lines. Leading them was none other than Uchiha Fugaku, the head of the Uchiha clan and an acquaintance of Haruto. The Uchiha clan's involvement came about because Konoha could no longer afford to spare any more of its forces, so it turned to its powerful ninja clans, offering concessions in exchange for their elite warriors.

Despite deep-rooted biases within Konoha's leadership, even elders like Koharu had no choice but to approve Fugaku as the mission's leader. Fugaku, known for his prowess and as the head of the Uchiha clan, was the best candidate for the job when the Hyuga clan couldn't be deployed. The stakes were high, and Konoha's leadership hoped that cooperation between Konoha and Hanzo would eventually lead to victory in the Land of Rain.

As Fugaku and his team arrived, he immediately sought out Haruto. In the camp, Fugaku sat across from Haruto, his posture upright, his hands resting neatly on his thighs. Every movement of his was deliberate, exuding the pride of the Uchiha clan.

"I've heard about your achievements lately," Fugaku said, his tone measured. "Defeating several chunin within six months of graduating and fending off Dairo Umagurugi… You've done well."

Dairo was the Ame ninja who had nearly sacrificed himself using a barrage of explosive tags in a desperate attempt to kill Haruto and his team. His skill was well-known in the Land of Rain, placing him among the strongest chunin.

Haruto responded humbly, "You're too kind, clan leader. I'm still just a genin. There's much I need to learn."

Fugaku was momentarily taken aback by the humility. The Uchiha were not known for being modest. Had it not been for Haruto's Sharingan, Fugaku might have doubted whether the boy was truly an Uchiha. Typically, any other member of the clan would have let their ego soar with such praise, even from the clan head.

"You should focus on maintaining the family's image," Fugaku said cryptically, though Haruto could tell the older man was nudging him toward a more typical Uchiha attitude.

Haruto, catching Fugaku's meaning, replied, "I understand, clan leader. But I believe actions speak louder than words. Gaining military accomplishments and demonstrating strength is the best way to uphold the family's reputation."

Fugaku seemed pleased by this answer, standing up to lead Haruto outside. He intended to offer guidance on refining Haruto's Fire Style techniques. In Fugaku's eyes, Haruto's rapid progression, especially opening the Sharingan at such a young age, made him a standout talent among the Uchiha in recent memory.

In fact, Haruto's trajectory mirrored Fugaku's own early years. Fugaku himself had opened the Sharingan before the age of ten and had also achieved chunin rank within a year of graduating. Because of this, Fugaku had high hopes for Haruto, envisioning him as a potential right-hand man in the future.

Standing outside, Haruto prepared to demonstrate his Fire Style. "Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Technique!" he shouted. A massive flame, shaped like a dragon, erupted from his mouth and crashed into the nearby mountain, sending chunks of rock flying.

Fugaku, watching closely, nodded with approval. Haruto's mastery of the Great Dragon Fire Technique was nearly as fast as Fugaku's own when he first learned it. Haruto's progress, however, wasn't just a result of his natural talent.

Much of Haruto's improvement was thanks to the Spiritual Activation Technique, which he had recently mastered. His heightened mental energy allowed him to control chakra with far greater precision, which was critical for performing advanced jutsu. Additionally, in the past six months, Kato Dan had given him valuable lessons in Fire Style techniques, refining Haruto's abilities even further.

With Fugaku's guidance, Haruto's fire jutsu was becoming even more potent, marking another significant step forward in his development. It was clear that under Fugaku's watchful eye, Haruto would continue to grow stronger, perhaps one day reaching the upper echelons of Uchiha power.
