Naruto: Saving the Universe by Stealing Attributes

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Frontlines – This is Magnet Release!

Inside the main base camp at the Konoha frontlines.

Minato Namikaze frowned, his gaze fixed intently on the map spread across the table as he silently contemplated.

The door creaked open, and Minato looked up. His expression softened with a warm smile when he saw who had entered.

"Mirai, you finally made it."

"Minato, long time no see," Mirai greeted him, casting a glance at the map covered in symbols. With a slight grin, he remarked,

"Looks like the battle hasn't been going too well."

Minato sighed and nodded. "You're not wrong."

"The shinobi from Sunagakure are masters of puppetry and poison, they've been dealing us some pretty painful losses," he admitted, a hint of frustration in his voice. "Honestly, I'm getting a bit of a headache."

On the battlefield, the majority are Genin and Chunin. They often decide the outcome, but their combat methods tend to be straightforward—shuriken, explosive tags, close-range skirmishes…

And that type of fighting just happens to be perfectly countered by Sunagakure's puppet masters.

To make matters worse, the village recently pulled a team of shinobi from here, making an already bleak situation even more dire.

But thankfully, with Mirai's support, the tide might just turn.

With this thought, Minato looked back at Mirai, curiosity flashing in his eyes.

"Mirai, is it true you cut off the Fourth Raikage's arm?"

"Please, can we not talk about that?" Mirai groaned. "It's just an arm, do I have to confirm it with everyone I meet?"

"Still impressive," Minato remarked with a touch of awe. "A is an incredibly powerful ninja. I once encountered his surprise attack squad on a mission, and his speed was unforgettable."

The thought of someone like A losing to Mirai—it was astonishing.

Just a few months ago, sparring with him had felt like a breeze. His terrifying talent was almost enviable.

"I also heard something about the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist—"

"Enough already!" Mirai cut him off, rolling his eyes. "Forget those trivial things and tell me about the current situation."

Seeing Minato's lingering curiosity, he hurried to stop him from dragging out the conversation. Flashy boasting wasn't his style.

"Still the same old Mirai," Minato chuckled. "Always brimming with energy, no matter the time."

He took a moment to organize his thoughts, then quickly filled Mirai in on the current state of the battlefield.

After listening to the report, Mirai scoffed. "So that's the situation, huh?"

"Doesn't seem like anything to worry about."

"Mirai," Minato said, hopeful. "Do you have a plan to resolve this?"

"If our Genin and Chunin are suffering heavy losses against the puppet masters, I'll just kill off all those puppet masters."

Minato blinked, taken aback. "Mirai, Sunagakure's poisons were created by Chiyo herself, and to this day, we haven't found a cure. If you get poisoned, it's certain death."

Unfazed, Mirai shrugged, turning toward the exit. "They won't get the chance. Just wait for my good news."

As he watched his leave, the weight in Minato's heart lifted. For some reason, whenever Mirai was around, he always gave him a sense that anything was possible.

After standing there lost in thought, Minato gathered his ninja tools and headed out of the tent.

"I can't let Mirai take on all the pressure. Time to stretch my own muscles."

...

In the Rain

In the midst of the rain, Mirai held a long sword, amplifying his sensory skills to the maximum through his Kagura Mind's Eye technique.

Using the intelligence Minato had given him, he quickly located the hidden Sunagakure outpost nearby.

Dozens of them were arranged in a triangular formation, reinforcing each other so that any attacked outpost could quickly call for backup.

"Let's start in the middle."

Without wasting time, Mirai flew from above, descending directly to the central outpost.

"Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"

A massive fire dragon spiraled down, engulfing the outpost in an instant.

Screams echoed as a few Sunagakure ninja, their bodies wreathed in flames, staggered out. Spotting Mirai, one of them fired a signal flare into the sky with their last bit of strength.

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for obtaining reward: Secret Technique – Puppet Technique!

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for obtaining reward: Chakra +1!

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for obtaining reward: Physique +1!

Boom!

As the notifications chimed in his mind, the signal flare burst in the air. The ground began to rumble.

In moments, Mirai found himself surrounded by a swarm of Sunagakure shinobi.

"What's going on? There's only one Konoha brat here?"

"What were the sentries doing, letting a Konoha shinobi slip all the way here?"

"Just kill him already. I want to get back to sleep."

Seeing it was just Mirai alone, the Sunagakure shinobi looked unimpressed. No matter how he got there, he wouldn't stand a chance against their sheer numbers.

"Is this all you've got?" Mirai said, his disappointment clear as he looked at the two hundred Sunagakure shinobi around him.

With all that noise, this was it? Not even two hundred of them.

"What nonsense are you babbling, brat?"

"So few? You arrogant fool, you look down on us?"

"Tch! Delusional fool, die already!"

The nearest group of puppeteers launched their attack, sending a barrage of poisoned senbon flying at him from all sides, leaving him no room to dodge.

The senbon gleamed a dark purple, clearly laced with deadly poison.

Grins of anticipation spread across the Sunagakure shinobi's faces as they waited to see the kid skewered like a pincushion.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

A large mass of golden sand surged up from beneath Mirai's feet, forming a protective wall that blocked every attack.

The Sunagakure shinobi froze in shock, disbelief etched on their faces.

Golden sand…
