Naruto: Marrying Kushina Uzumaki From The Start!

Chapter 57: New Choices!

Hokage's Office

"Bang!"

Shimura Danzō slammed his hand on the armrest of his chair, glaring at Sarutobi Hiruzen. "Hiruzen, Koharu is dead! And I am sure Yoruichi is behind it!"

Jiraiya couldn't help but interject, "Danzō, Minato already confirmed that the assassin used Water Release. It's likely the Hōzuki clan's hidden technique, the Water Gun Jutsu. How can you link this to Yoruichi?"

Even though Jiraiya wasn't fond of Yoruichi, Danzō's obsession with blaming him was too much.

"Koharu only just had a public disagreement with him," Danzō retorted. "Isn't that enough reason to investigate him? If we let this slide, where is the dignity of Konoha's leadership?"

His sharp eyes locked onto Hiruzen, filled with accusation.

Mitokado Homura, seated nearby, remained silent, his expression dark.

Across the room, the Sannin—Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru—watched silently, waiting to see how their teacher would handle this.

Sarutobi Hiruzen sat at the head of the table. Though his hair had started to turn gray, the Third Hokage was still at his peak. His battle-hardened body and vast experience made him a formidable force, rivaling even the Third Raikage.

Setting the report aside, Hiruzen looked up and faced Danzō with unwavering resolve.

"So, what are you suggesting?"

Homura spoke up, his voice grave. "We can't let Yoruichi continue to act recklessly. He's becoming arrogant, abusing his power. If we don't stop him now, he could turn into another Madara Uchiha!"

Tsunade scoffed, cutting in, "You're being dramatic, Elder Homura. Yoruichi isn't remotely comparable to Madara."

Homura's glare shifted to her. "Tsunade, you weren't there when the Uchiha betrayed us. Someone like Yoruichi, with his growing influence and abilities, could destroy Konoha if unchecked!"

Tsunade shrugged. "Yoruichi inherited both the Senju clan's Wood Release and the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques. He's a prodigy, unlike any we've seen. If he chose you as the Jinchūriki for Matatabi, it's because you were the most suitable candidate. Isn't that what you always preach—sacrificing for Konoha?"

Homura's eyes flashed with anger. "You dare mock me?"

As the Chakra of the Two-Tails flared within him, Homura's eyes shifted into slitted pupils, and his teeth sharpened. His feral transformation made Danzō flinch and step back.

"Homura, calm down!" Hiruzen shouted, appearing in front of him in an instant. His hand glowed with five elemental Chakras, pressing against Homura's chest.

"Five Elements Seal!"

A roar erupted from Homura as the Two-Tails' Chakra receded. His feral features disappeared, leaving him trembling and pale.

"Go home, Homura," Hiruzen said, his voice heavy. "You need rest. You're unstable."

Homura's shoulders slumped as he walked out of the room, his back hunched and aged.

Watching him leave, Tsunade whispered, "He's not wrong. Carrying a tailed beast is a heavy burden."

Danzō, regaining his composure, turned to Hiruzen. "This only proves my point. Yoruichi is a threat to Konoha's stability."

Jiraiya rolled his eyes. "If you're so concerned, maybe you should have handled the Two-Tails better."

Tsunade smirked. "Exactly. Elder Danzō, do you even know how to use sealing techniques? What would you have done if Yoruichi hadn't stepped in?"

"You—!"

"Enough!" Hiruzen's voice silenced the room. His sharp gaze fixed on Danzō. "Your accusations are baseless. Yoruichi is nothing like Madara. He's Konoha's future, not its enemy."

Tsunade added, "Don't forget, Yoruichi saved Konoha from Matatabi's rampage. Without him, the village would've suffered far worse."

Danzō clenched his fists, his anger barely contained.

Hiruzen threw a report onto the table in front of Danzō. "Read this. It's about Yoruichi defeating the Third Mizukage."

Danzō hesitated before picking up the document. As he read, his face twisted with disbelief and frustration. After several minutes, he threw the report down.

"I understand. I'll take my leave," Danzō muttered before storming out.

The room fell silent as Hiruzen dismissed the others, leaving him alone. Staring into the empty space, he sighed.

"Tobirama-sensei, Hashirama-sensei… I'm doing my best. But even I can't keep him on the right path forever."

---

Later that night, Yoruichi returned to his home. The moment he stepped inside, he noticed someone waiting for him—Uzumaki Mito.

"Not asleep yet, Grandma Mito?"

She smiled faintly. "You did well today. Don't worry about the elders."

Yoruichi chuckled. "I'm not worried."

He wasn't lying. He had no intention of killing Homura or Danzō outright. Death would be too easy for them. Instead, he wanted their misdeeds exposed for all of Konoha to see.

"I know what you're planning," Mito said. "Hiruzen will give us a satisfactory resolution."

Yoruichi raised an eyebrow. "You still trust him?"

Mito nodded. "He'll do what's best for Konoha. Just wait."

With that, she left, leaving Yoruichi deep in thought.

---

The next morning, Yoruichi was unexpectedly summoned by Hiruzen.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, Hokage-sama?"

Hiruzen smiled. "I have a proposal. The head of the Administrative Department, Akimichi Takekaze, is retiring due to health issues. I'd like you to take over the position."

Yoruichi frowned. "Why me?"

Hiruzen continued, "I'm also appointing you as the Deputy Commander of the Anbu. You'll assist Hatake Sakumo in managing the Black Ops."

[Ding! Host, new choices are available.]

1. Decline all positions and remain idle. Reward: Mastery of Wind Release Techniques.

2. Decline one position. Reward: Akimichi Clan's Multi-Size Technique.

3. Accept both positions. Reward: Evidence against Danzō and a high-tech surveillance recorder.

Yoruichi smirked. "I accept."

The rewards were worth it. A recorder capable of capturing footage from 1,000 meters away would be invaluable in gathering evidence against Danzō.

Hiruzen sighed. "Yoruichi, I hope you understand the weight of these responsibilities."

"I do," Yoruichi replied.

As Hiruzen left, Yoruichi's smile widened.

"This is just the beginning."
