Naruto: I Quit

Chapter 110: Plan To Kill

A few days later, in a vast desert, two figures clad in peculiar attire traversed the sandy expanse. This was the Land of Wind, a nation characterized by its extensive desert terrain.

The two men, both dressed in black windbreakers adorned with a blazing cloud pattern and hats to shield them from the scorching sun, were none other than Naruto and Kakuzu, the newest addition to the ranks of Akatsuki.

Indeed, the desert was unforgiving, with temperatures soaring during the day and plummeting at night. Their choice of attire, while unconventional, was a practical necessity.

Naruto, with his wooden mask concealed beneath his hat, led the way. Beside him, Kakuzu, a recent recruit to Akatsuki, pondered their mission. Their objective was clear: they sought Sasori, an S-class renegade from Sunagakure.

As they traversed the desert, Kakuzu contemplated the value of capturing an S-class renegade. Would it be more profitable to recruit Sasori or to exchange his head for a hefty sum?

Meanwhile, Naruto, from beneath his mask, issued a command: "Kakuzu, perform Universal Pull."

Kakuzu, surprised by the abrupt request, hesitated momentarily. However, having witnessed Naruto's prowess firsthand, he complied without further question.

The two continued their journey in silence, with Kakuzu's typically reserved nature contrasting with that of his former partner, Hidan, known for his boisterous and reckless demeanor.

Naruto found solace in conversing with Kurama in the spiritual realm.

"Kurama, how's it going? My plan is unfolding smoothly," Naruto boasted, eager to share his progress with his long-time companion.

Kurama's expression grew complex, struggling to find the right words. As the sole witness to Naruto's journey, Kurama couldn't deny the undeniable truth: Naruto was veering further down the path of a villain. Building his team and positioning himself as the ultimate adversary was a daunting prospect. The real concern lay in the motives behind Naruto's actions—his pursuit of Jinchūriki and wild tail beasts raised questions about his own standing.

"Kurama? Why the silence? I've got a talking gourd next to me; I don't need you playing mute," Naruto quipped, his dissatisfaction evident. Loneliness didn't sit well with him; few had shown him genuine kindness over the years. Without Kurama's companionship, Naruto feared he'd lose his voice.

Kurama snorted, breaking the silence. "What did I tell you? Impressive speed, but are you about to initiate the tail beast capture plan?"

Naruto's laughter was devoid of warmth. "Haha, don't worry. We won't act immediately, not for another three to five years, at least. And even if they try, I won't allow it. Remember our ultimate goal and our true enemy. Do you really think I'd challenge Kaguya with my current strength?"

Kurama's response was muted, his thoughts unclear.

Naruto's resolve hardened. Despite his earlier allegiance to Black Zetsu's plan, he had no intention of following through. His earlier statements were mere facades—products of his strategic foresight and adult-like discernment.

In truth, Naruto had matured beyond his years, understanding the complexities of his ambitions and the consequences they entailed. He would chart his own path, one defined by resilience, wisdom, and, above all, integrity.

"I still need time, a lot of time. Let me make the most of it to continually enhance my strength. If I can amplify the gravitational magnetic field to a hundred times, I'm afraid my physical endurance will become truly steel-like. By then, I might even approach the speed of light."

"At that point, my physical prowess alone will be sufficient to contend with Ōtsutsuki."

"And my Wood Style Ninjutsu, Sage Mode, and various other Ninjutsu, etc."

"Kurama, do you ever wonder why I insist on recruiting these individuals personally? I want them to submit to me willingly, to recognize me as the convincing leader. That means I need to learn from them."

"Moreover, I might need to gather what I need from the five major Ninja villages in the five great countries. There's also room for honing my skills and advancement. Dealing with the constant switch between Rinnegan and Sharingan is quite bothersome. What if I can make Rinnegan and Sharingan coexist simultaneously?"

"Since Gouyu exists in Rinnegan, is it possible to host Sharingan's pupil technique in Gouyu? There's too much on my plate; time is of the essence."

Naruto only reveals his sincerity and his true thoughts and plans when facing Kurama.

But Kurama was puzzled and asked, "Then how do you buy time?"

"It's very simple." Naruto's face, hidden under the mask, displayed a dark smirk. "Just kill a certain tail beast?"

Kurama was stunned, "You sneaky guy, that's a ruthless move."

"Well, the tail beast won't truly die anyway. It will be resurrected in a few years. Others may not know or may think that the Gedo Statue needs to absorb the tail beasts in a specific order. If the order is disrupted, the plan to capture the tail beasts will have to be postponed for at least three to five years."

"So, Kurama, which of your tail beasts has a bad relationship with you? Tell me; I'll help you get revenge."

Kurama remained silent, trying to play innocent.
