Naruto: From Konoha to One Piece

Chapter 235: Chapter 236: Reanimation Experiment

"Fusing the Soul-Soul Fruit, Hollow-Hollow Fruit, and Revive-Revive Fruit, this Devil Fruit may be called the Yama Fruit."

Looking at the enhanced fruit in his hand, Shin immediately smiled. "What am I thinking? Isn't this just a Soul Fruit? After eating it, do I really want to be the King of Hell?"

"I don't know if I'll travel to a mythical world in the future... Forget it. When my strength isn't enough, I shouldn't step into such high-risk worlds."

Even in classical mythology, those immortals and celestial beings possess boundless power. If Shin were to enter such a world, his survival would be left purely to luck.

Any being with formidable mystical abilities could essentially foresee the so-called fate of the world. Shin had no desire to be labeled as an extraterritorial demon and eliminated.

As for fantasy worlds from modern literature, they're even more chaotic. Writers do not need special effects, so they exaggerate freely. Planetary destruction is trivial, universal annihilation is common, and reality itself exists in layers upon layers of escalating power levels. Even the multiverse struggles to contain them.

Some settings are even more terrifying. Take the eldritch horrors of the Cutchulu's realm—where even time and causality can be reversed, leaving travelers utterly exposed. The Lord of Mysteries world is worse; knowledge itself is dangerous, and the more one knows, the closer they are to death.

Shin's system is not powerful enough to handle such things—he would likely become just another casualty.

This is why Shin became more cautious when considering interdimensional travel.

Taking a bite of the Soul Fruit in his hand, Shin replaced the Azure Dragon Fruit he had been using. Within moments, he felt a strange transformation in his soul. The most noticeable change was the rapid surge of his Yin chakra, which had previously been at a disadvantage.

"Time for an experiment." Shin turned his gaze to the corpse of the Dragon Slayer Swordsman, Ryuma. He retrieved a spore he had prepared beforehand, injected it with a large amount of chakra, and soon, a white humanoid form began to grow.

However, despite the fully formed body, it remained motionless. Its vitality was palpable, yet there was no trace of a spiritual presence.

Shin's expression remained unchanged. This was a side effect of world traversal. He had conducted experiments on animals before—many living creatures lost all spiritual essence after passing through, turning into empty shells.

Of course, some animals survived the process without issue, but Shin had yet to determine the exact reason behind it. Because of this, he never dared to attempt sending people through.

Fortunately, for this experiment, an empty vessel was precisely what he needed. Forming hand seals, Shin spoke in a low voice, "Impure World Reincarnation!"

Normally, performing this technique in the world of One Piece resulted in no reaction. However, this time, he distinctly felt his chakra being drained. Simultaneously, the newly ingested Soul Fruit emitted a strange energy.

The two forces merged and surged into the white body before him. Ash-like fragments adhered to the humanoid form, gradually revealing a heroic face—Dragon Slayer Swordsman Ryuma!

Opening his eyes, Ryuma glanced around in confusion. "Huh? Aren't I already dead? What's going on?"

Shin exhaled in relief before bursting into laughter. Ryuma, still adjusting, wore a perplexed expression.

"So, I'm already dead!" Ryuma sighed with resignation.

"I didn't expect to be dragged back after death. This is quite an interesting experience."

Shin studied him closely and asked, "How much strength can you exert in this state?"

"Strength? It's significantly weaker than before." Ryuma flexed his arm. "This body's physical capabilities seem subpar—perhaps only half of my former strength. My Haki is at about 70-80%, but my swordsmanship isn't too affected."

"However, without a solid foundation, none of that matters. Physical fitness is crucial."

Shin nodded slightly. In the One Piece world, even swordsmen required exceptional physical strength. Just looking at Zoro's relentless training made it clear how vital a strong body was.

While swordsmanship had its own mystical elements, such as the "breath of all things," it ultimately came down to raw power.

Zoro had already grasped the "breath of all things" ability in the first half of the Grand Line, enabling him to cut through steel. However, if he had faced Kaido at that time, even if Kaido stood still and let him strike, the worst he could do was give the Yonko a pedicure.

Would Kaido or Charlotte Linlin, both of whom relied on pure physical dominance, be able to comprehend such mystical techniques? It didn't matter—they could simply block attacks with their bodies.

Ultimately, even for master swordsmen, attack power depended on physical prowess. Superior technique gave an edge in battle, but only when the physical stats were evenly matched.

Ryuma's current body had only half of his original physical strength. While this didn't necessarily mean his combat power was halved, it did mean that instead of standing at an emperor-level, he would now struggle against a Yonko's top commanders.

Additionally, Shin noted a significant drawback in using the Impure World Reincarnation in the One Piece world—its regenerative abilities were greatly diminished.

Perhaps due to the lack of chakra, the dirt body was still immortal, but regeneration took significantly longer. After being blown apart, it required an hour or two to recover instead of instantaneous healing.

Furthermore, the body's defensive capabilities were much weaker than before death. Without Armament Haki, its physical durability was only slightly better than that of a normal person.

Under these conditions, someone like Ryuma could at best contend with elite Vice Admirals or mid-tier Yonko commanders.

The only advantage was that this world lacked sealing techniques. Thus, the immortality of the Edo Tensei body remained a highly intimidating factor.

However, endurance was hardly a concern in One Piece. In Naruto, where stamina was often a limiting factor, unlimited chakra provided a huge advantage. But in One Piece, even Vice Admirals could fight for days. Against such opponents, infinite stamina was merely a nice bonus rather than a game-changer.

After repeatedly testing Ryuma's Edo Tensei state, Shin could only sigh—there was no such thing as a perfect technique.

The only real benefit was the sheer intimidation factor. Without proper sealing techniques in this world, the undying nature of the Edo Tensei body was still quite a fearsome advantage.
