Then they will collect Rea for her next two years; and Gajeel being the youngest, will escort Rea's final two years abroad. Ritsu protested loudly and was ignored on the whole.

Rea packed a satchel with her essentials; a rather large satchel, and prepared to leave her life long prison behind.

One week after everything had begun Ritsu fumed as the small entourage departed and left him without Rea, her family titles, estates, wealth, patronage, or marriage potential.

The group traveled together until they were sure Ritsu had not followed them.

Yachiru worked diligently to help Kakashi and Rea reach minimal understanding between their languages and then Rea was on her way to the village hidden in the leaf with Kakashi for a two year trek of his country.

Rea learned that everyone had used some form of magic to pinpoint the spell location and arrive at her residence in one day.

By foot Kakashi's home would take nearly two months and the others were even farther away.

They had all decided that travel time to each location should not count towards her two year stay.

Kakashi would escort her to Kenpachi and Yachiru after his time was complete and they in turn would escort her to Gajeel who would take her back to her own country after his two years were up.

One month into their journey Rea spoke Kakashi's language haltingly, but fairly well. They had become good friends but she had yet to see his face.

"Do you always wear a dress? No, I mean cloth…mask?" She stumbled over the words. Kakashi's eye narrowed and sparkled telling her that he was smiling "Yes, I don't like to take it off."

"Even among your family?" Rea was astounded, he looked a little sad and replied "My blood has all died and I never married" They walked silently until night was near.

Then they built a small camp and Kakashi made a fire.

 Rea shivered, the nights were getting cooler and she was unaccustomed to walking and being outside much. Kakashi opened his pack and pulled out a blanket.

He walked over to Rea and put it around her shoulders and then stood still as stone as he realized that she had taken his hand into her own.

"Sit with me please Kakashi, I'm warmer if you're close." She said quietly. Kakashi didn't move, he seemed to be contemplating what to do.

He began to walk away and she pleaded "Please…" He sat next to her, she leaned into him and sighed happily as he slid his arm around her shoulder and held her close to his chest.

She could hear his heart beating quickly and asked him "Are you alright?" "YUP!" He replied too quickly.

Rea got in front of him on her knees and touched the sides of his face, she looked into his eye with concern and leaned in closer to him.

"A-are you sure?" Sweat began to build on Kakashi's brow and he turned away from her a little and crossed his legs before saying "Y-yeah, just… the fire is hot…"

He stood and then coughed lightly as they both looked at the remaining embers of the fire and Kakashi said "I'll go get more wood… for you…for the fire…I'm hot…but, AH DAMNIT!" He smacked his forehead and walked off to find wood.

Rea sat puzzled and then sighed and soon fell asleep under Kakashi's blanket, next to what once was their fire.

Kakashi sat just outside of her range of sight with a pile of wood in his arms. He waited until she fell asleep and then built up the fire once again.

He avoided looking at her and cursed himself for getting excited over an innocent young woman who was simply worried about him… and not intentionally seducing him.

(What is she anyway? Eighteen, maybe nineteen?) He wondered to himself. He bit his lip and growled at the pain and himself, then sulked off to the shadows as Rea stirred in her sleep.

No doubt the next month would seem MUCH longer!

Rea woke with a scream "NO!" Kakashi was instantly on his feet and stood over the trembling girl, with a kunai in his hand.

He searched their surroundings quickly and slowly dropped his guard "Bad dream?" He asked in a concerned voice "Memory."

Rea said quietly and wouldn't look at him. He sat next to her and pulled her into his lap "It's alright, you're safe now, and it's all behind you. HE is behind you." Kakashi knew that Ritsu had done unimaginable things to Rea, things she may never be able to speak of and it made him angry.

Yet all he could do for his new friend was to offer her comfort now.

They packed up camp and had a quick breakfast of cooked fish and a few roots that Kakashi taught Rea how to find, then they headed out for his village which was still weeks away.
