Chapter 46: Chapter 46
After obtaining Itachi's DNA from the Uchiha compound, Naruto left wearing mourning attire.
By 9 p.m., Naruto was strolling through the bustling streets.
During his walk, he had already reaped a considerable amount of negative energy points.
Arriving at Ichiraku Ramen, Naruto found Teuchi waiting for him.
Naruto, carrying his canvas bag, lifted the curtain and entered the shop. It was nearing closing time, and there were no other customers present. Even Ayame and Teuchi's three apprentices were absent.
"Little Master,"
"Master!"
With no outsiders present, and no Anbu or Root operatives monitoring outside, Naruto smiled and gestured for them to relax.
During their conversation, Naruto gradually uncovered Teuchi's aspirations.
"What? Your dream was merely to become Konoha's best chef?" Naruto's question made Teuchi flush with embarrassment.
"Yes, Master. For any chef, becoming the best in Konoha has always been the ultimate goal."
Naruto nodded with a smile before stating, "No, being Konoha's best chef can only be a stepping stone. To consider it your ultimate dream is too limiting."
Teuchi and Ayame exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of Naruto's meaning.
Seeing this, Naruto cut to the chase. "The world is vast. Are you truly satisfied with being just Konoha's best chef?"
"What?"
Hearing this, Teuchi seemed to grasp something but couldn't confirm it, so he looked at Naruto with burning eyes. Ayame, on the other hand, was too grounded in her experiences within Konoha to fully understand his intent.
"That's right. Your dream should be to become the world's greatest chef," Naruto said confidently. "If it were me, I'd set my sights on becoming the greatest culinary master the world has ever known."
Naruto's words left both Teuchi and Ayame stunned, their mouths agape.
Teuchi swallowed hard. "Little Master, if you were a chef, what would your ultimate dream be?"
Though Ayame remained silent, the anticipation in her eyes betrayed her curiosity.
Naruto chuckled. "If I ever became a professional chef, I'd devote myself to building a nation of culinary wonders—a country founded on the culture of food."
"What?!"
"Little Master, don't say such things lightly. What if someone overhears?"
Hearing this, Teuchi and Ayame's expressions changed drastically, and they hurried to check outside. Fortunately, the streets were almost deserted at this late hour, allowing them to relax.
"Oh, come on. I was just saying if." Naruto shrugged, his tone carefree, like that of an innocent seven-year-old boasting grandly.
But Naruto had considered his words carefully.
From the recent competition for the title of Konoha's top flavor enhancer, Naruto knew that while Teuchi and Ayame were middle-aged, their passion for cooking remained youthful. They were simply constrained by the rules of their world, suppressing their true ambitions.
Naruto aimed to reignite their love for cooking through this opportunity.
He painted a vision so grand that, even if they treated it as a joke, it would open their minds to new possibilities.
Once the mindset was expanded and the dream established, their attitudes and aspirations would naturally transform.
Ayame might take longer to change due to her traditional perspective, but Teuchi, who had traveled extensively, already seemed deeply inspired by the vision Naruto presented.
Satisfied with the groundwork he had laid, Naruto decided to stop pressing the issue for now. Transforming perspectives took time.
Naruto then unveiled his true trump card to win them over: two sheets of paper and a 500-pound sack filled with lotus-flavored seasoning.
The large sack landed on the ground with a thud, leaving Teuchi and Ayame bewildered. They couldn't understand how it had appeared, as Naruto hadn't used a sealing scroll or performed any visible techniques.
Ding! You've gained 200 shock points from Konoha villagers!
"Master, what is this?"
The two stared at Naruto in confusion.
Naruto smiled and used a kunai to slice open the sack, revealing meticulously packaged portions of lotus-flavored seasoning.
"This is my secret blend of spices to support you. With these, I believe you'll quickly rise to become Konoha's top culinary experts."
"What?! Master, is this the legendary seasoning?"
"And... so much of it?"
Teuchi and Ayame trembled as they gazed at the enormous supply of the seasoning, their disbelief evident.
"It's just a small gesture. These are only basic seasonings," Naruto said casually. Then, handing over the two sheets of paper, he addressed Teuchi, "Take a look at these. You're responsible for implementing what's on them."
Teuchi carefully examined the papers, his hands trembling. His eyes lit up with astonishment and joy as he scanned the contents.
"Ultimate Barbecue Recipe?"
"Barbecue? What's that?"
Teuchi quickly deduced the concept of barbecue from the recipe's steps, while Ayame remained perplexed.
One sheet detailed the barbecue process, including ingredient selection, preparation, marination, and cooking techniques. The other contained a blueprint for constructing a barbecue grill and its accompanying tools.
Naruto was confident that with these resources, Teuchi could independently master the art of barbecue.
"Teuchi, do you think you can handle this?" Naruto asked with a smile.
"Yes! I'm fully confident! Master, did you develop this entire system yourself?" Teuchi looked at Naruto with fervent admiration.
"That's right. And this is just the simplest recipe—merely the tip of the iceberg. In the future, I'll teach you even more complex culinary techniques. Learn well."
Teuchi and Ayame were stunned, their jaws dropping.
What? Such an unparalleled recipe was just the simplest?
"Thank you, Master, for your guidance!"
"Thank you, Master!"
Seeing the two about to kneel in gratitude, Naruto quickly stopped them. "If you don't want me to disappear suddenly one day, avoid such displays in public."
Ding! You've gained 200 shock points from Konoha villagers!
Teuchi and Ayame froze, looking at Naruto in disbelief.
"Little Master, are you in some kind of trouble?" Teuchi asked, confused.
Naruto smiled faintly. "Let's just say certain people's attention makes things... complicated. From now on, in public, I'm simply your part-time apprentice at Ichiraku Ramen."
Hearing this, Ayame realized the potential danger her earlier public acknowledgment might have caused and nodded solemnly.
"Understood, Master. We'll keep things discreet."
Teuchi, catching on, nodded in agreement.
With the groundwork laid, Naruto handed Teuchi another 100 pounds of barbecue seasoning and gave him a mission:
"Teuchi, use the next three days to set up a barbecue stall in front of Ichiraku Ramen. With this recipe and these seasonings, I'm confident you'll dominate the market."
Seeing their newfound passion, Naruto declared confidently:
"In three days, your Heavenly Barbecue and Ichiraku Ramen's Signature Noodles will rise like twin swords, shocking the culinary world of the Land of Fire!"
"Yes, Master!"
"Understood, Master!"
