Chapter 57: Chapter 57
Taking down Kakashi didn't take much effort.
The white-haired, stubborn ninja had surprisingly agreed to join half-heartedly and on the spot, something Naruto hadn't anticipated.
He had expected resistance—maybe even a bloody fight—but Kakashi had conceded so quickly that it felt almost anticlimactic. Now, here Kakashi was, walking alongside them and assisting in their plans, much to Naruto's disbelief.
This guy's change of heart is a bit too fast, Naruto thought.
To speed up their mission, the group split into pairs. Naruto's Nine-Tails mode ensured Kakashi couldn't easily pull anything suspicious. After all, despite Kakashi's agreement, none of them fully trusted him yet.
In the dead of night, on a quiet, empty street, two figures moved swiftly.
Tap, tap.
The faint sound of their footsteps faded into the stillness.
"What are you looking at?" Kakashi asked, stopping when he noticed Naruto had fallen behind, staring at a small shop they'd just passed.
Naruto's eyes lingered on the sign above the shop.
"Ichiraku Ramen?" Kakashi read aloud, his tone soft. "Naruto, don't tell me you're hungry right now."
"Hey, Naruto! What are you thinking?" Kakashi nudged him a few times.
"Huh?" Naruto snapped out of his thoughts, answering honestly. "Nothing… just thinking about something important."
"Important, huh?" Kakashi said skeptically. "You mean ramen?"
"No! The most important thing for a village's development is, of course, its ninjas," Naruto declared, his voice resolute. "But people also need a place to relax. Back when I was in Konoha, whenever I felt down, I'd come here and have a bowl of ramen. It made me feel better."
Naruto's eyes sparkled with determination. "Wouldn't it be great if the villagers of Shin-Konoha had a place like this? A bowl of Ichiraku ramen when they're unhappy would do wonders for morale!"
"Let me get this straight," Kakashi said, glancing at Naruto with suspicion. "Are you doing this for the village or because you want to eat ramen?"
Naruto wiped away a bit of drool forming at the corner of his mouth, betraying his supposed seriousness.
"Anyway," Naruto said quickly, ignoring Kakashi's pointed look, "let's bring Uncle Teuchi back to Shin-Konoha. It's for the good of the village!"
Kakashi sighed, realizing there was no room for negotiation. "You're the future Leader of Shin-Konoha, so it's your call."
Naruto's resolute decision left no room for argument.
Teuchi's House
Teuchi, the owner of Ichiraku Ramen, sighed as he looked at the unexpected guests standing in his home.
It was late at night. What could they possibly want?
"Miss Hanabi, do you want a bowl of ramen?" Teuchi asked politely, looking at the young Hyuga heiress who sat with an innocent expression on her face.
The dignified princess of the Hyuga clan, sneaking out of her home at this hour, just to eat ramen?
"Two bowls, actually," Hanabi corrected, holding up two fingers. "My sister wanted one, but now I'm hungry too."
Teuchi chuckled helplessly and got to work. "Fine, fine. Two bowls it is. Ayame, help entertain Miss Hanabi while I prepare the ramen."
Teuchi's daughter, Ayame , grumbled as she climbed out of bed. "Seriously, people wanting ramen at this hour… I'm going to age faster if this keeps up!"
Ayame pulled on a robe and walked into the main room when she noticed something strange—a dark shadow outside the window.
"Ahhh—!"
Her scream was muffled as a hand covered her mouth. In the next instant, Ayame found herself restrained by Kakashi.
"What the hell, Kakashi? Why do we need to come in through the window?" Naruto hissed as he climbed in behind him.
"Ah, Sister Ayame! It's been a while. Is Uncle Teuchi home?" Naruto asked cheerfully, as if nothing unusual had just happened.
Ayame, recognizing Naruto, froze. Her wide eyes filled with confusion and fear.
"Sister Ayame, don't panic," Naruto said quickly. "We're here quietly. Don't tell anyone, okay?"
Ayame nodded reluctantly, realizing Naruto's situation. He was a wanted man now, a traitor to Konoha.
Seeing her agreement, Naruto gestured for Kakashi to release her.
The moment she felt Kakashi's grip loosen, Ayame slapped him hard across the face.
"Pervert! Where did you think you were touching just now?!" she shouted, her face red with embarrassment.
Kakashi scratched the back of his head awkwardly, avoiding her gaze. "Sorry… the situation was urgent. My bad."
Naruto ignored the commotion and walked into the living room, where he saw a young girl sitting quietly.
"Are you part of Teuchi's family?" Naruto asked, confused.
"I'm a Hyuga. I'm here to buy Ichiraku ramen," Hanabi replied.
Naruto blinked. "The Hyuga family? Then you must know Neji."
Hanabi nodded. "Brother Neji left Konoha with a big villain named Naruto Uzumaki," she said matter-of-factly.
Naruto felt a pang of guilt at being labeled a villain but let her continue.
"And Sister Hinata, too! She used to talk about how that bad guy loved Ichiraku ramen, and now she wants to eat it. So, I snuck out to buy some." Hanabi looked frustrated.
"Say, isn't Naruto Uzumaki a big bad guy?" she asked, her voice accusatory.
Naruto scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Well… yeah, I guess you could say that."
