My Manor

Chapter 377: Chapter 376: The Big Guy from Outside

"Finally, I'm back," Feng Yunchen said happily, lying on the sofa in her own home.

Even though she had flown first class, she still felt a bit down. Flying really wasn't a fun experience. In fact, whether it's by car, train, plane, or ship, traveling is quite exhausting.

The only difference is that first-class cabins allow for a better rest—that much is true.

"Sister Chen, aren't you going to clean up?" Ai Xiaoxi asked, glancing at Feng Yunchen who was lying on the sofa in a relaxed, unbothered manner. She sighed, a bit exasperated, and spoke with an eye roll.

"Xiaoxi, don't worry about that. Aren't you tired after sitting on the plane for more than ten hours?" Feng Yunchen waved her hand dismissively, but Ai Xiaoxi sighed again and shook her head. There was no convincing this sister of hers.

But considering that Feng Yunchen had taken good care of her during their trip, Ai Xiaoxi held her tongue, putting their luggage on the sofa before starting to unpack.

Actually, it wasn't just regular luggage; it was mostly their clothes—outfits for company photo shoots—and cameras, all packed separately in the U.S. After disembarking, company staff had picked up the rest of their things.

But while sorting through the luggage, they unexpectedly found two sets of clothes packaged with Jiang Hai's name on them. At first, they were stunned. Upon closer inspection, they realized it was women's clothing, which made their faces turn red. They immediately knew these were gifts from Jiang Hai.

So, as the staff picked up their luggage, they also grabbed these two sets of clothes.

Returning to their home in the capital, both Feng Yunchen and Ai Xiaoxi were feeling a mix of emotions.

"Sister Chen, how much do you think these clothes Jiang Hai bought for us cost?" Ai Xiaoxi asked, pulling the clothes out. The most eye-catching set was the one on top. The outfit wasn't from a single brand but a mix of high-end names.

The trench coat was Burberry, with pieces from Donkey, Chanel, Versace, Givenchy... It was clear that Jiang Hai wasn't particularly good at picking out clothes.

He simply bought whatever he thought looked nice. Money? He didn't care much about that.

From a professional fashion standpoint, Jiang Hai's choice was a little... odd. Some pieces were too flashy. After all, he bought the most expensive non-customized versions of those brands.

But to ordinary people, the clothes were undeniably beautiful and made for great mix-and-match outfits.

Ai Xiaoxi looked at the clothes in her hands and turned to Feng Yunchen, full of curiosity. She had only just entered the industry and was eager for clothes like these, but she didn't know much about them. For women, a good dress was always the best.

"You can't figure it out on your own?" Feng Yunchen rolled her eyes at Ai Xiaoxi. She had already checked the prices earlier but didn't say anything. Sometimes, it's better for someone to figure things out themselves to appreciate it more.

"Right!" Ai Xiaoxi slapped her forehead and started searching online.

The internet was incredibly powerful these days. Within moments, Ai Xiaoxi found the prices of the clothes.

However, the prices were listed in the U.S., and luxury goods in China were more expensive.

"Oh my God, this set of clothes costs nearly 2 million RMB?" Ai Xiaoxi pointed at the clothes, her eyes wide with shock. She'd originally entered the industry for money, and now, not only had she shot a fashion blockbuster in the U.S., but she'd also gotten clothes worth 2 million RMB. It was hard to believe.

"No, this gift is too expensive. I can't accept it. I should send it back to Jiang Hai." After a brief hesitation, Ai Xiaoxi decided that even though she wanted to sell the clothes and send the money home, she couldn't bring herself to do it. So, she resolved to return them.

"Two million is just pocket change for Jiang Hai. You know his capabilities. Just accept it. And don't even think about selling those clothes to send the money back to your parents. This is Jiang Hai's money. It should be enough to give you a good life," Feng Yunchen said, sighing as she saw Ai Xiaoxi about to get up and send the clothes back.

Ai Xiaoxi was a good girl, but she should also have someone who cared for her. Feng Yunchen wasn't sure whether her relationship with Jiang Hai was good or bad, but after pulling Ai Xiaoxi back down, she took a VISA card from her bag and handed it to her.

"Sister Chen, I can't take this money. Jiang Hai and I are doing this voluntarily. I don't want our relationship to be about money. I won't talk to you about it," Ai Xiaoxi said, frowning as she looked at the card Feng Yunchen handed over. She was confused. Was Jiang Hai trying to silence her? She had heard he had a wife in China. Was he worried she'd say something and cause trouble?

"What are you imagining?" Feng Yunchen shook her head. "Jiang Hai isn't the person you think he is. This isn't a breakup fee or hush money. You can tell anyone about your relationship with him. With this connection, even if you don't become famous in China, no one will dare to touch you. This is just pocket money for you. I've heard about your family issues. I can't help you with that, but you can use this money however you want."

Feng Yunchen tapped Ai Xiaoxi's head with the card, exasperated at how much she overthought things.

"This... guy. I was planning to forget him when I returned to China, but now I can't seem to let go," Ai Xiaoxi muttered as she slowly took the card. Looking at the card, she saw the last digits were 520—specially chosen by Jiang Hai. Was he confessing to her?

Did this mean she had to be his lover forever? But then again, maybe being his lover wouldn't be so bad...

Shaking her head, Ai Xiaoxi took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. No matter what, Jiang Hai had really helped her, and right now, she truly needed the money.

"Just think of it as a loan from me." After a moment of hesitation, Ai Xiaoxi slipped the card into her wallet.

"There's one million USD in the card—about six million RMB. When you need to use it, go to a bank in China to activate it and convert it to RMB. Got it?" Feng Yunchen continued lazily, watching Ai Xiaoxi carefully store the card away. Feng Yunchen was slightly torn in her heart, but she understood the situation. She couldn't stand by Jiang Hai's side openly because of her past, but Ai Xiaoxi had a good chance.

However, if this continued, it might not end well. Jiang Hai had given them money out of consideration for their relationship and to ensure they didn't lack anything.

Feng Yunchen felt that giving Ai Xiaoxi the money was also a way for Jiang Hai to get her to pick a side again.

"Six million... Okay," Ai Xiaoxi muttered. She had just accepted clothes worth 2 million RMB, and now there was 6 million in cash. She felt like she had become the very person she once despised. But she couldn't deny that the money came quickly.

After carefully putting the card into her wallet, Ai Xiaoxi resumed packing.

But when she opened her backpack and saw the new DSLR camera inside, she felt as though her heart had been struck. During their time in the forest, she had mentioned her love for photography, but she never expected Jiang Hai to remember. The money and clothes didn't shock her as much as this camera did.

"This... guy..." Ai Xiaoxi's eyes blurred as she looked at the camera in her bag.

"Xiaoxi, let's move in together. I want to sell this house," Feng Yunchen said, her voice cutting through Ai Xiaoxi's thoughts. That clear voice seemed to indicate a decision had been made.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hai had no idea what was happening in the capital, nor did he know what was unfolding in Boston...

At Boston airport, a giant over two meters tall squeezed out of the cabin and walked through the terminal, followed by a lazy-looking white man.

"Is this Boston?" the big guy rumbled.

"Yes, this is Boston. Let's go. I'll take you to see our boss," the white man said with a smile.

"Your boss? I'm not interested. I'm here to find someone," the big guy muttered, shaking his head seriously and showing a business card with the name Moses Adams. There was also a phone number, but it seemed he hadn't made the call—or perhaps he had already tried but received no response.

"Don't worry. My boss is very powerful in our area. There's nothing he can't find in Boston. Let's go," the white man replied, leading the big guy out with a grin.
