My Manor

Chapter 370: Chapter 369: Picking up Selina

"Not feeling well? Then let's go home!" Pra Walton laughed when she saw Selena Gomez, who appeared slightly confused. After waiting for so long, it was finally time to reap the rewards. She believed that Selena would certainly like her. After all, who wouldn't be drawn to such a beautiful scene in the mirror?

"No, thank you. I need to go to the bathroom." Feeling Pra Walton's intense gaze, Selena Gomez quickly stood up, her mind racing. She had no idea what was going on, but now she just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.

She didn't know when the drug would take effect, and if she didn't leave now, it would fall into Pra Walton's hands.

"Then I'll go with you." Pra Walton smiled and stood up too. She was impressed at how well these girls who practiced dancing and singing maintained their fitness. Despite being drugged, Selena had yet to fall, which was impressive.

"No need." Selena shook her head and quickly made her way toward the bathroom.

"We're both women. Don't worry. We should help each other," Pra Walton insisted, not giving up so easily. She stood up and followed Selena toward the bathroom.

Fortunately, Selena was still conscious. As she entered the bathroom, she locked the door behind her.

Pra Walton saw the door lock and raised her hand, but then lowered it. If she broke the door down, it would draw too much attention. Not only would it ruin Selena's reputation, but her own would be at risk too. After all, she represented not only herself but the family behind her.

So she stopped and signaled to her four bodyguards. Two of them immediately rushed off to prevent Selena from escaping. But could they really stop her?

Inside the bathroom, Selena ran straight to the sink and turned on the faucet, trying to vomit up the drink. She managed to spit out most of the Long Island Iced Tea, but the drug was fast-acting. Though not rare, this kind of drug was highly expensive and popular among the elite in the United States.

The main ingredient was blood orchid, a plant found only on Kalimantan Island. For men, it enhanced their fighting abilities, but for women, it induced a state of madness. It was a tool used by the wealthy to stir desire. And it came at a steep price—$1.5 million per pill.

Though Selena managed to vomit most of the drink, her stomach absorbed part of it. That was enough.

Leaning against the sink, Selena felt dizzy, and her body began to heat up. She gritted her teeth and spotted a row of small windows on the wall behind the bathroom, which she could use for ventilation.

Having practiced dance for years and maintaining a slender frame, she could barely fit through. She quickly rinsed her head under the cold water to regain some clarity.

With a sudden burst of focus, Selena climbed to the windows and, ignoring the startled looks of a few onlookers, squeezed herself out.

"Selena! Selena! Are you okay?" Pra Walton's anxiety grew as she listened for any noise from inside. When she didn't hear anything, she knocked on the door, but after a while, there was still no response.

Panic set in. She signaled to her men. One of her bodyguards grabbed the key from the staff and opened the bathroom door.

At that moment, Pra Walton caught sight of Selena Gomez jumping out of the window.

"Who's that? Chase her!" Seeing her escape, Pra Walton was determined not to let it go. She ordered two of her bodyguards to pursue while notifying the others outside to cover the alleyway.

Meanwhile, Selena fell directly onto a parked car with a loud thud, startling a couple inside. The man quickly threw on his clothes. It was late spring, so the temperature was moderate. He was dressed in a coat and pants, which saved him from further trouble in the colder weather.

After getting dressed, the man ran outside, cursing loudly. "Who the hell do you think you are, falling on my car?"

"Sorry…" Selena mumbled as she hurried to leave, but the man grabbed her arm.

"Apology's not enough. You're paying for my car, or you're not leaving," he shouted, tugging at her. In a panic, Selena swung her wet hair aside, revealing her face.

Although Selena wasn't a top-tier superstar, her relationship with Justin Bieber had made her well-known in the U.S. and Canada. Most Americans recognized her face, even if they didn't know her music. The man immediately recognized her.

"Hey, if you don't want to pay for my car, then you'll have to stay with me tonight to make up for it." He leered at her, dragging her toward the car. But Selena wasn't about to comply. She immediately used all her strength to stomp on his unshod foot with her high heel. The pain caused him to release her, and she quickly tried to run, but her legs were too weak.

Despite the pain, the man limped after her, determined not to let her get away.

Frustrated, Selena stumbled and fell again—this time, landing on the hood of another car with a loud crash, startling the three people inside.

As the trio climbed out, one of them, a man, immediately recognized who was lying on the hood.

"Selena Gomez?" He recognized her instantly. This man was Jiang Hai, who had been driving his car after bringing two girls out.

Thanks to his exceptional fighting abilities, Jiang Hai was able to react swiftly. He had been tracking Selena, and when he saw her in distress, he immediately stepped in.

Jiang Hai and Selena were friends. She had visited his manor, and she had helped him at the New York Beef Show. He was very grateful to her.

Without a moment's hesitation, he got out of the car and saw the man chasing Selena. Without warning, Jiang Hai kicked the man hard in the chest. The man was thrown several meters into the air before crashing onto another car, shattering its rear windshield.

The man and woman inside the car scrambled to put on their clothes, confused by the chaos. Meanwhile, Jiang Hai rushed to Selena and helped her up.

"What's going on?" Jiang Hai asked, his confusion growing. Selena appeared dazed but wasn't smelling of alcohol, which only added to his worry.

Seeing him, Selena sighed with relief. She struggled to speak. "Hurry… hurry…"

Her head tilted, and though she didn't faint, she had no strength left to speak or run.

Jiang Hai frowned and quickly put her in the back seat of his car. He instructed the two girls to care for her before preparing to leave. But as he was about to drive off, two bodyguards in black appeared, chasing after him.

Jiang Hai recognized them as Pra Walton's bodyguards. They were tasked with taking Selena back, and upon seeing her in Jiang Hai's car, they were none too pleased. Watching Jiang Hai drive off, one of the bodyguards kicked the car without a word.
