Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Yes or No? I Say Yes!
*Ding!*
^System Alert!^ [Potential Host, welcome to a new world!]
I stared in dread at the transparent grey panel hovering in front of my vision. I felt the sand between my toes, the heat of the sun on the back of my neck. 'I had shoes on before...' I collapsed onto my knees and winced as my left knee landed on a hidden rock. 'That confirms it... This isn't a dream.' I heard birds squawking overhead but it seemed like white noise as I stared at the grey panel and the ocean behind it. 'I was about to go on a date with a cosplayer.'
I bent my head to the ground, collapsing onto my hands, feeling the warmth of the sand beneath me. "I was about to be one of the few—"
*Ding!*
^System Alert!^ [Potential Host has not confirmed system package, please confirm your choice!]
I blankly stared at the grey panel that stayed in my view no matter where I looked. With no more responses, I sat on the sand and saw a new grey panel appear accompanied by a ding.
[Yes or No]
I stared at the bright red letters before quietly speaking. "System where am I?" Some fortune seemed to be on my side as the system responded.
*Ding!*
^System Response^ [The Potential Host is in Paradise!]
I blinked at that, then paled. "I'm dead?!"
I received no response. "Ahem. System, am I dead?!"
*Ding!*
^System Response^ [Potential Host is not dead!]
I sighed in relief but then frowned. "Then why did the system say I'm in Paradise?" I looked around the beach I was on, feeling a strange itch at the back of my mind and a pit forming in my stomach. 'Oh fu-'
*Ding!*
^System Response^ [Paradise is known as the first half of the Grand Line!]
"Fuck..." 'I'm in One Piece?' I stood up, wobbling slightly as my legs felt numb. 'Why am I in One Piece? System, tell me why!'
*Ding!*
^System Response^ [Potential Host is in a new world due to: ሃዐ፱ ጋጎቹጋ...Er͞r̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞r̳̿͟͞, Y̳̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞u̳̿͟͞ d̳̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞ n̳̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞t̳̿͟͞ h̳̿͟͞a̳̿͟͞v̳̿͟͞e̳̿͟͞ a̳̿͟͞c̳̿͟͞c̳̿͟͞e̳̿͟͞s̳̿͟͞s̳̿͟͞ t̳̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞ t̳̿͟͞h̳̿͟͞e̳̿͟͞ i̳̿͟͞n̳̿͟͞f̳̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞r̳̿͟͞m̳̿͟͞a̳̿͟͞t̳̿͟͞i̳̿͟͞o̳̿͟͞n̳̿͟͞!]
"Agh!" I gripped my head as the system hit an error, I started feeling something wet in my ears. Moving my hands away, I looked down at my palms now coated in blood. I shut my eyes, stopping myself from crying. Taking a deep breath in then out I told myself. 'If I'm in One Piece and alone, I'll need all the help I can get.'
Opening my eyes, I raised my hand toward the red text, pointing my index finger toward the [Yes] option. Before I pressed it, I took another deep breath in then out, and tapped the text.
*Ding!*
^System Alert!^ [Potential Host has become the Host! Goodbye!]
"What do you mean, goodbye?! System—"
I blinked as a new grey screen appeared, showing what had to be my stats.

"That's it?!" I rubbed my eyes then looked at both my stats and the Skill Restriction. "Haki Compatibility? Does that mean I can't use Haki?!" I tapped on the restriction in hopes of an explanation and a small panel appeared.

I stared blankly at the panel, then looked down at my hands, clenching and unclenching them. 'I don't feel different...' "System, are there any gift packages?"
POP!
"Ah!" I yelped, jumping higher than I ever had before as the sound of a firework went off in front of me. I looked down as I landed on the hot sand and a brown book the size of my palm, along with a knife the length of my finger appeared.
*Ding!*
^System Response^ [Automatic Responses will be limited due to the Host's low intelligence! Goodbye!]
"I am not dumb!" I sighed and picked up the items, shaking off the sand. I pocketed the small knife in my yellow shorts...
'Wait, shorts?' I looked down and only just noticed I was shirtless, wearing nothing but yellow shorts.
"I guess having different clothes is the least weird thing to happen today..." I sighed, opened the book and saw the title: Survival Guide for Morons. Rolling my eyes, I looked up from it and turned my gaze to the dense lush green forest behind me.
'This is One Piece, a world where giant everything exists.'
I looked down at the body I was used to seeing, visible ribcage and a thin frame and mumbled dejectedly. "I'd be used as a toothpick for whatever predators are in there."
*Ding!*
[Quest: Don't die on ? Island! Reward: ????]
"Well, that's encouraging..." Rolling my eyes, I slowly made my way closer to the forest but didn't enter. Instead, I walked along the shaded edge of the beach, hoping to find a village or town. 'I've watched enough movies and anime to know that entering an uncharted forest is dangerous and will likely lead to getting lost and dying.'
I grimaced as my stomach rumbled with hunger and muttered lightly while scanning both the beach and the forest for any signs of life that are hopefully friendly. "Hopefully, there's a village or town nearby, and they aren't wary of strangers." All I could do, aside from walking and watching, was hope.
~Scene Change~
'I don't think I have to worry about being attacked by the people in this village at least.' I thought, trying to distract myself as I entered a village that looked like it had been ruined decades ago. Vines and moss clung to the walls and most of the buildings had been demolished, with only a few still standing, though even they looked like they'd collapse with the next strong breeze.
"Hopefully, nothing calls this place home." I mumbled as I cautiously looked inside one of the huts, a small knife in one hand and a rock in the other.
There was no sound apart from the songs of birds and the gentle ocean breeze. I sighed in relief then yelped as I stepped on something that cracked underfoot. Looking down I saw a skull beneath my bare foot.
"Good God, that scared me!" I raised my palm to my chest, frowning as my heart was still beating at a steady pace, not fast like I expected.
"Must be due to my Restriction..." Hesitantly shrugging off both the thought of what else the Restriction might have done to me and the bones from my feet I continued walking, but this time, I watched where I stepped.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
A few minutes had passed since stepping on bones and I had checked the entrances of the somewhat intact homes and had formed a theory about what had happened to the village. 'If I'm correct, the chances of anyone still being on this island are close to zero.'
My theory? Water levels had risen and the former residents either left by boat, or they evacuated to higher ground which I guessed was somewhere in the forest. 'I regret not trying to find a mountain near the forest's edge, though I should've been able to see it from the beach.'
While I was confident in my theory, there were holes in it, one of them being the skeletons scattered around. 'Why would there be bodies if the water rose? Unless...' I frowned and slowed my pace as a drop of water hit my bare torso. I looked up to see dark clouds rolling in, bringing rain. 'Unless something prevented them from leaving—like a Sea King?'
~Scene Change~
"Finally!" I sighed in relief, sitting down as I managed to keep a fire going for longer than a minute. I looked down at the survival book lying open beside me, half of a page torn out and then up at the moss covered, rotten wooden roof above, shielding me from the downpour.
'Clever for the book to have its spine as flint.' I thought. I rubbed my neck and picked up the book again, reading the page that taught me how to use the fire starter.
"If you have no kindling, tear the next page and use the spine of the book with the back of the skinning knife."
I looked down at the small knife in my other hand and sighed. "Will there even be anything I can use this on? It's tiny."
Shaking off the negative thoughts, I stared at the small fire keeping me warm, then tucked my knees to my chest as my stomach growled.
'I'll look for food tomorrow.'
I yawned, feeling my eyes grow heavy. 'Hopefully... I'll wake up from this...'
