Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Fu Shilv, I'm Going Blind
Men's and women's clothes were strewn across the floor.
A bra torn in the throes of passion lay atop a white shirt.
Emerging from the bathroom, Fu Shilv had nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist, his feet treading on the lace edge of the bra as his entire being became engulfed in spirals of light.
"Let's go again."
On the adjacent big bed, Sheng Youxia, who had just experienced ultimate pleasure, looked up to see him drain the bowl of rich herbal medicine in one gulp.
Even with his brow furrowed, he looked good, Sheng Youxia thought.
If she really did go blind, maybe she wouldn't have to love this damned man anymore.
Feeling a sourness in her nose, Sheng Youxia buried her face in the mattress to suppress the feeling.
Liking someone is a knife; the one who falls first, gets their heart pierced.
Fu Shilv put down the bowl and advanced towards Sheng Youxia, the medicine was too bitter, he needed something sweet next.
The heat from his palm made her skin tighten; another round tonight?
Was the potency of this aphrodisiac so fierce? Was he sure he wouldn't overexert himself?
Out of concern, she said, "Actually, you don't have to force yourself; 30 minutes isn't short. And medicine is a poison, you should be careful..."
To die from complete exhaustion.
What did she think he was taking?
Fu Shilv's face turned ashen, his tone rose unpleasantly at the end, "Who's forcing themselves? That was cold medicine!"
When Fu Shilv exerted himself, the bed seemed to struggle to hold up, and Sheng Youxia was also finding it hard to cope.
The nightgown she had just put on was a mess due to his forcefulness.
"Can you be gentler?"
"Hmm—" Sheng Youxia's mouth was silenced.
The bright lights cast a glow on the desire in his eyes, like a wild, untamed beast pressing down on her, crushing her, wishing to split her open and devour her.
A series of phone ring tones mixed into the damp, sticky breaths from the nightstand.
Unsatisfied, Fu Shilv's gaze lingered on Sheng Youxia's slender waist.
He grasped her waist with both hands, fitting perfectly, his fingers leaving marks where passion had flared.
The persistent ringing refused to cease, a constant disturbance.
Fu Shilv reached out for the phone, glanced at the caller ID, and quickly paused his movements; he covered Sheng Youxia's mouth with his palm as he answered the call.
Her body still trembling, she watched as he braced his arms on either side of her, his muscular definition at full stretch.
But suddenly, her vision blurred.
Sheng Youxia remembered the doctor's words that she could go blind at any moment, and that she needed corneal transplant surgery as soon as possible.
"Dr. Fu, my eyes hurt so much, can I take some painkillers?" A weak female voice came through.
"I've found a donor for the cornea, and we can arrange your surgery immediately."
He was so icily noble, yet he wasn't incapable of tenderness; it was just that he had never shown this side to her.
The woman on the other end of the line could barely conceal her excitement, "Does that mean I'll be able to see you very soon?"
Sheng Youxia's body tensed as Fu Shilv's breathing by her ear grew heavy, the air filled with a twining sound.
"Mhm," Sheng Youxia heard him respond softly.
"But I heard the nurses say today that the cornea was meant for someone else."
Sheng Youxia stared at the face in front of her, so close yet still so blurred.
Fu Shilv's brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.
Nurses love to gossip.
As soon as he spoke, his words were cool and detached, "Your case is more urgent, others can wait."
Sheng Youxia's lips trembled, as if she had been sentenced to death.
With Mr. Fu's intervention, a pair of corneas were naturally within reach.
But did he know that the "someone else" he spoke of was her?
Those eyes were originally meant to be hers.
Sheng Youxia had waited half a year and had barely managed to get hold of these corneas, but Fu Shilv had snatched them away at a moment's notice.
Afterward.
The man rose from the bed, pulled on his trousers, and with his back to her, picked up the shirt beside him, the scratches on his back clear and deep.
"Fu Shilv, if I go blind and need surgery, whom will you take care of first?"
As Sheng Youxia's words settled, she watched as Fu Shilv turned around, a dark shadow looming over her, his fingers pinching her chin.
"Are you blind?"
Her throat moved as she said, "I'm talking about if."
"Then we'll talk when you're actually blind."
Sheng Youxia's eyesight wasn't something he'd believe as failing. He vividly remembered the way she had been gazing intently at his lower body just moments before.
Fu Shilv began to button up.
"Don't play this jealousy game with me. Liang Nianwei isn't as scheming as you; she can't compete with you."
It seemed that seeing her lifeless eyes, silent like a dry well, bored him.
Fu Shilv reached out again to cup Sheng Youxia's cheeks.
His fingertips caressed her delicate face, "But if you really do go blind, I'll treat you too."
Fu Shilv saw a glint of light in her eyes as she looked up.
He smiled and leaned in closer, "However, you'll be after Liang Nianwei."
...
Fu Shilv did not stay the night at home, and after his car drove away, Mrs. Feng entered, "Miss."
Sheng Youxia sat on the edge of the bed, her clothes still half-on.
Mrs. Feng hurriedly picked up the nightgown and draped it over her, "Mr. Fu has left."
"I know."
"Didn't you tell him about your eyes...?"
Sheng Youxia spoke wearily, "He said he would take care of Liang Nianwei first."
Mrs. Feng, who had come over from the Sheng Family with Sheng Youxia and held a deep connection with her, cursed under her breath, "But Miss, are you really going to compete with Liang Nianwei?"
"This isn't competing—it was my turn for those corneas."
Mrs. Feng looked worried, "With Mr. Fu stepping in, I'm afraid you're no match for him."
Sheng Youxia lifted her eyes, her rims slightly red, and Mrs. Feng, anxious, advised, "You can't cry, your eyes won't take it, don't cry."
Mrs. Feng watched her, a faint glint flickering in Sheng Youxia's eyes, waxing and waning.
