Chapter 267: Chapter 266: Momo and Ashido’s Exam Begins!
Seeing Uraraka and Aoyama successfully pass their exam, both the students and teachers in the monitoring room finally breathed a sigh of relief. Smiles spread across their faces as they shared in the happiness of the moment.
Kirishima grinned broadly. "That was seriously tough for Uraraka and her team!"
"Yeah, they barely made it in the last ten seconds," Tokoyami added in a low voice.
"The perseverance of Uraraka-san and Aoyama-san is something we should all strive to learn from!" Iida declared, fists clenched with determination.
"Damn it!! I was so looking forward to it… So much anticipation… And then—why?! Why?!"
Mineta suddenly grabbed his cheeks, his expression a mix of frustration and regret.
"Why didn't Thirteen's suction tear Uraraka's clothes to shreds?! Thirteen, you're too weak!!"
...
The room fell silent. Everyone turned to Mineta with deadpan expressions as he radiated an unmistakable aura of perversion. Fortunately, they were somewhat used to his antics by now.
"Eh? Kaminari?!"
At that moment, Tetsutetsu was the first to notice Kaminari standing behind Kyoka, and his voice quickly drew the attention of the others.
"Kaminari! When did you get here?" Kyoka turned around, surprised to see him.
"Haha, I just arrived too..." Kaminari replied awkwardly, subtly pulling his right hand back to his side.
"Then did you see Uraraka and Aoyama's amazing teamwork just now? Let me tell you, they—" Ashido excitedly began waving her hands as she spoke.
"Yeah, I saw it!"
Although Kaminari personally felt that if this had been a real combat situation, Uraraka and Aoyama would have technically lost, he still gave a thumbs-up in agreement.
"It was really exciting!" he echoed, nodding.
After all, if Thirteen hadn't stopped using their Quirk at the last second, Uraraka could have been seriously injured or worse.
But that only made Kaminari respect the U.A. teachers even more. Even the seemingly gentle Thirteen was this formidable, let alone the ones who specialized in combat.
At that moment, Momo spoke up, hesitating slightly.
"Actually, I think Uraraka didn't need to take such a risk at the end. If they had lured Thirteen further away earlier, they wouldn't have been caught in the suction range."
"That's true."
Recovery Girl nodded, smiling. "But it's understandable. After all, gauging the exact range of Thirteen's suction is no easy task."
Iida adjusted his glasses before adding, "And they were running out of time. They didn't have the luxury of dragging things out any further. Given the situation, taking that gamble was probably their best option."
As the group continued discussing, Kaminari took the opportunity to discreetly slip his hand into Kyoka's, gently squeezing it.
He felt an odd sense of satisfaction from these little moments.
"Still as soft as ever…" he thought, smiling to himself as he glanced at Kyoka's back. She was pretending to be unfazed, standing completely still, but the pink flush creeping up her earlobes told a different story.
He made sure to let go before anyone noticed, then casually changed the topic.
"So, the next match is Momo and Ashido's, right?"
He had come to the monitoring room specifically to watch their exam. After all, he owed Momo a lot, and he had to see how she did.
"Yeah! We should get to the testing grounds soon!" Ashido immediately perked up, turning to Momo impatiently.
Momo, ever composed, glanced at the clock on the wall. "Our exam area is the industrial simulation zone, so we still have some time."
She then turned her attention to the small fox-like creature—Vulpix—playing with Kaminari's Pikachu. With a warm smile, she said, "Let's go. It's time for our exam!"
"Good luck, Momo! You too, Ashido-chan!" Kyoka and the others cheered them on, and the monitoring room buzzed with excitement.
"No problem! That principal doesn't look that tough!" Kirishima said confidently as he watched Momo and Ashido leave.
"Oh? Kind of like how Cementoss didn't look tough before he completely shut you down?" Tetsutetsu teased.
Kirishima bristled. "What did you just say, you steel-plated bastard?!"
"Hahaha! Did I say something wrong, you red-haired hedgehog?"
"This is not just red hair—it's a bold, wild color! Got a problem with that?!"
"Pfft! Still looks like a hedgehog to me!"
"Aghh! That's it—I challenge you to a duel!!"
"Wait, are you asking if I beat you, or if you beat me?"
"Uh… wait… hmm… Aren't those the same thing?!"
"Hahahaha!!"
Midoriya, Iida, and the others sighed as Kirishima and Tetsutetsu broke into yet another argument. Their back-and-forth never failed to amuse.
Meanwhile, Kyoka ignored their antics and turned her attention back to Kaminari, a hint of concern in her gaze.
"Kaminari, how's your prep going?" she asked.
"It's fine. I have a plan in mind, at least. Not much else I can prepare, honestly our opponent is All Might," Kaminari replied with a casual smile.
"Yeah… your opponent is All Might," Kyoka sighed, her worry deepening.
The Symbol of Peace was basically the pinnacle of strength in their world.
She had faith in Kaminari's abilities, but against All Might? That was an entirely different level.
"Relax, I will pass this exam!" Kaminari reassured her confidently.
He briefly considered raising a hand to ruffle her hair but quickly realized the timing wasn't right.
"Besides, you should be worrying about your match first. You and Koda are up after Momo and Ashido."
As he spoke, he glanced over at Koda, who was quietly standing off to the side.
"Do you know where your test is being held?"
"Yeah, it's in the forested area on the outskirts," Kyoka replied.
"A forest, huh? That's perfect! Koda-san, this could be your time to shine!" Kaminari grinned at Koda encouragingly.
"I-I'll do my best…" Koda murmured, blushing slightly from the attention.
At that moment, Momo and Ashido's exam officially began.
The screen showed them standing amidst dense industrial pipes, towering cement buildings, and eerie-looking Pokémon sculptures.
"Hey! Those Pokémon Kaminari made earlier are still here!" Ashido exclaimed excitedly, pointing at a large armored bird statue perched on a pipe.
"Yeah. They make this industrial zone feel more alive rather than just cold and lifeless," Momo observed as she glanced around.
Her gaze then landed fondly on the small Vulpix at her feet.
"Momo Yaoyorozu and Mina Ashido, practical exam—ready, go!"
