Chapter 34: Recovery Time
Things were looking grim within Mewni Castle. A vicious battle had just commenced, one many saw coming, but still did little to make the situation easier.
Star was injured, having taken an attack from Andrias, and was getting patched up by some doctors in the infirmary. She wasn't alone there, everyone she had gone into battle with was there. Anne was getting stitched up from an attack by Belos, Luz had to get treated for an attack from Andrias.
Tom took a really bad hit himself, his demonic endurance being a saving grace for him. Of course even he could still feel the brunt of Belos's power.
Star looked to the side to find a lost and confused Hunter, the boy still unable to cope with the betrayal he felt from his uncle. Star still pitied the boy, despite her prior aggression toward him. She would not wish such a state of mind on others.
Her biggest concern remained, the others that were left behind. Especially Marco, who was lost in another dimension. Star took one last look at the now ruined beach picture before placing it away, unsure what to expect now.
"Star?" Maddie said, hopping next to her. "Hey, are you feeling alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Star insisted, holding her now stitched up stomach. "Nothing I can't handle."
"Right..." Maddie said, still slightly worried. "Just so you know, you don't need to be tough for us. It's alright if you're hurt. I personally won't judge you."
"It's fine Maddie, really," Star said. "I got hurt, but I can still move. I've been through rough spots before."
"Did any of those result in so many injuries? With our friends captured too?" Maddie asked.
"Hey, bad things happened with Meteora and we pulled through," Star said. "And I've lost track of Marco a few times myself. He's even been captured and held hostage by Toffee, one of the most dangerous villains in Mewni. At least, he was before we finally killed him."
"Right, Toffee," Maddie said. "He sounds worse and worse every time I hear about him. Was he worse than Andrias and Belos though?"
"Somehow...those two are pretty dangerous even alone," Star said. "Belos ruled over the Boiling Isles through deceptive kindness. Andrias is no different, except he was more deceptive to the point of fooling so many people. Toffee was at least a bit more honest, even if he was manipulative himself. He was so straight to the point while Belos and Andrias just...I can't really say. They're terrible in their own ways I guess."
"Guess it's hard to compare," Maddie said.
"Point is, things are bad but we've pulled through before," Star said. "This won't be any different."
"I admire your guts," Maddie said. "Still, even I can tell that you're a bit more down about this than you're letting on."
"Even so, I have a duty as a Princess...rather, as a Queen, acting or not, to do what I can for my subjects," Star said. "I have to figure out a way to thwart whatever Belos and Andrias are up to."
"Well Andrias definitely needed Marcy for something," Maddie said, the girl feeling concerned. "Though, given what just happened to her..."
"Right," Star recalled Marcy's impalement, courtesy of Belos. It wasn't just what happened to Marcy, but Marco's immediate reaction. Never had she seen a look of such despair on the boy's face.
"I'm worried about Marcy, and Amity of course," Maddie said. "And I can tell that Marco is what has you the most worried, you two are best friends after all."
"Yeah, we are," Star admitted. "But, like I said, Marco's been in bad situations, he'll be fine. Plus he's with Amity, and they'll keep each other safe."
"Even if Marco's fine physically...how is he mental wise?" Maddie asked. "After seeing what happened to Marcy-"
"Look, Maddie," Star interrupted. "You raise a lot of good points, but let me figure things out."
"...Alright," Maddie said, hopping off the bed to leave Star to her thoughts.
"This is not going to be easy, but it's gotta be done. I have to save my friends," Star began thinking up some plans.
Meanwhile Luz and Anne had finished getting patched up, and were sitting next to each other and waiting for their friends. Luz was very worried about the last fight, and all her friends that were in danger. Anne of course had her own concerns.
"Anne?" Luz placed her hand on the shoulder of the girl next to her. "How are you feeling?"
"I don't know how to feel right now," Anne said. "Anger, sadness and fear are basically duking it out in my mind, and I don't know who's going to come out on top."
"I'm the same," Luz admitted. "I'm worried about Eda. I don't know how I'm going to explain this to Hooty and Lilith. She's strong but Belos is no joke."
"Eda's tough, so she has a chance," Anne said. "I know she's got her own troubles, especially given what's happening to her friend Raine."
"That is odd," Luz said. "Why is Raine working for Belos again? I hope it wasn't out of betrayal."
"Well Hop Pop did say that Raine seemed confused," Anne said. "For all we know, he got mind controlled by Belos or something."
"Belos certainly is good at manipulation," Luz bitterly said, then glanced toward the boy once known as The Golden Guard. "How could he do what he did to Hunter? Aren't they family?"
"Guess family means nothing to a guy like Belos," Anne said. "That's why he killed Eclipsa and kidnapped Meteora to raise as his own daughter. That's why he tricked his own nephew. And it's also why he's doing such terrible things to everyone else."
"I just wish Hunter realized this sooner," Luz said, pitying the boy.
"Honestly, me too," Anne said. "Despite what he did, I do feel a little bad for him. But then again, he brought a lot of this on himself too, so I'm not that sympathetic."
"I understand your frustrations, especially after everything he did," Luz said. "I do hope that in time, everyone can be friends."
"Right, friends..." Anne had plenty more on her mind. "Honestly, I'm a little ticked off at Sasha. There was no reason for her to go off alone to fight Belos. I mean, yeah she had Higgs but that obviously wasn't enough. Kind of wish Higgs talked her out of it."
"If you have a hard time communicating to Sasha after knowing her since you were little, do you truly believe that Higgs would fare any better?" Luz asked.
"Fine, it's not her fault anyway, I'm just glad she wasn't more hurt than she was," Anne said. "I just hate what Sasha did. Her plan not only put so many people in danger, it's the reason that Hop Pop is endangering his life against Belos, it's the reason both Marco and Amity are stranded somewhere. And that Marcy..."
Anne shut her eyes, trying to prevent tears from coming out. Luz gently took Anne's hand, soothing the girl, "I'm here for you."
"...Marcy...I don't even know..." Anne wiped her eyes. "I want to believe she's alive, she just has to be. Marcy always finds a way but..."
"Hey, Marco managed to survive something like that," Luz reminded. "Marcy just might get lucky."
"But she's still in danger," Anne pointed out in worry. "What does Andrias even want with her? Hasn't he done enough damage too?" The girl slammed her fist against the wall behind her. "God, I just hate both Belos and Andrias so much!"
"Easy Anne, don't get too worked up, you're still healing from an injury," Luz said, gently rubbing her own wound. "We're all healing, and right now we should conserve our strength, so we can strike back, and strike hard."
"You got a point," Anne admitted.
"But, I get how you feel, I hate Andrias and Belos too," Luz said. "Once we're all healed up, we'll get our payback. We'll free all of our friends."
"Our friends, and family," Anne said, glancing at where Sprig and Polly were. "I have to save Hop Pop."
"And I plan to save Eda," Luz said. "Whenever I was in danger, she risked everything to save me, even against Belos."
"Same here, The Plantars always risked their necks for me," Anne said. "Even when I didn't deserve it."
"Hey come on now, if they risked themselves for you, then you must have definitely been worth it," Luz said.
"Guess I'm lucky," Anne said.
Luz placed her own hand on Anne's looking deep into her eyes. "So am I."
Anne looked away, awkwardly blushing, but very flattered by Luz's affection.
Nearby as Sasha finished getting patched up, she immediately grabbed her sword and began to leave. "Let's go Higgs."
"Huh? Where?" Higgs asked.
"Back to the Boiling Isles," Sasha said, getting everyone's attention. "We're going to kill Belos and Andrias."
"Whoa, hold on there!" Star called. "I did not give any orders to pursue Andrias."
"Orders?" Sasha asked. "Since when do I need orders?"
"Since you became my knight," Star said. "So long as you're a knight of Mewni, you will answer to me."
"Are you being serious?" Sasha asked.
"Of course I am! I didn't knight you just so that you can do whatever you want!" Star said. "I knighted you to keep you under control."
"Uh, wow, you want to control me?" Sasha asked. "Sorry, but I tend to do my own thing."
"Yeah, doing your own thing is what got us into this mess!" Star reminded. "Because you left, without my permission, taking another Knight under my servitude in the process, and pursued the enemy, on your own. What did you think would happen once you got to the Boiling Isles the first time around?"
"I planned to kill Belos, and I will admit there were a few missteps, but I think I have this under control now," Sasha said.
"You most certainly do not have this under control," Star said. "You're staying here until I decide when you can fight again!"
"Look, if we wait too long, all of our friends are going to bite the dust," Sasha said. "I don't know about you, but I have no interest in sitting by and letting that happen."
"I don't want that to happen either, but if we're not careful, the risk they took to save us will be for nothing," Star said. "We've been given a second chance, and we need to make the most of it."
"Look, if we don't strike now, then what's to stop Belos or Andrias from coming here?" Sasha asked.
"If they do, we have the advantage," Star said. "Belos is not used to fighting in this dimension, so his magic won't work as well. There's a reason he barely leaves The Boiling Isles after all. He knows if he comes here, he will be at the mercy of Mewman magic!"
"Are you serious?" Sasha asked. "What difference do the realms make?"
"All realms have their own rules on magic, it's easier for me to channel magic here than on Earth," Star said. "It's a major reason my wand comes in handy outside of Mewni. Do I need my wand? No, but the boost I get really helps when I'm in an unfamiliar world."
"She's got a point," Luz interjected. "Magic's hard to do depending on the realm. It took me a while to figure out how to do magic on Earth properly."
"Too many unnecessary details," Sasha said. "Seriously, if we strike now, Belos won't suspect it."
"Or, he will counter you somehow, and then you're back in danger, again!" Star frustratingly pointed out. "What are you even trying to prove? Your strength? Your skill? That won't mean anything if you're dead!"
"Listen Queenie," Sasha said, glaring right at Star. "I am not one to back down from a fight! What Belos did was cross the line! I am not leaving Grime or Hekapoo in his clutches!"
"Oh, so that's what this is about," Maddie interjected. "It's not about stopping Belos, it's about protecting your friends."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you have a problem with that!?" Sasha shouted in annoyance.
"Sasha, you're not the only one worried about your friends," Star said. "Everyone is worried, but we have to play it smart."
"Yeah, easy for you to say," Sasha said. "Everyone you love and care about is still in this castle."
"Excuse me?" Star asked in disbelief. "Uh, need I remind you that Eclipsa, my ancestor, is dead because of Belos!? Or that he took Meteora for himself!? I've been so worried about her, and more than anything I want to bring her back here. Even if her mother's dead, I am going to make sure that girl grows up properly! But I can't do that by charging in recklessly!"
"Why must you use the term, 'reckless'!?" Sasha asked. "I'm quite good at thinking on my feet. I've got the mindset of a great tactician."
"You tried this on your own before, and failed," Star said. "If you try again, you'll probably die this time."
"Oh, I'll show you," Sasha said, turning around. "Higgs, let's-"
"Higgs, you are to stay," Star said. "That's a Royal Order."
"That better be a fucking joke!" Sasha shouted.
"Watch your tone with me!" Star warned. "I am seriously not in the mood for your nonsense."
"Higgs!" Sasha shouted, trying to get her attention.
"Sasha, I..." Higgs glanced at Star, then back at Sasha, the girl feeling ashamed. "I'm sorry. I can't disobey my Queen. It would be dishonorable as a Knight to do so."
"Oh, I do not believe this!" Sasha shouted, the girl about to take her leave. "Fine, I'll go on my own!"
"Hey, Sasha..." Star began. "Fair warning. If you disobey my orders again and leave, you're fired as my knight. As such, if you get caught again, don't expect us to come and get you. By that point, you're on your own."
"...Tch, like I've never been on my own before," Sasha said.
Before she could commit to leaving, Anne called out to her, "Sasha, wait up!"
"What is it Anne?" Sasha asked.
"Sasha, I know you're worried, and for good reason," Anne said. "You're worried. About Grime, about Hekapoo, and about Marcy. I know you want to get them back. I'm worried too, how do you think I feel about Hop Pop? Or Luz with Eda?"
"We all want to save them, amiga," Luz said. "But we can't do that if we don't think everything through."
"Plus, we all just got hurt, clearly Belos and Andrias aren't messing around," Anne said. "If we screw up again, it's just going to get us killed, and no one will be able to save our friends."
"We also don't want you getting hurt either," Luz said.
"Yeah, we just got you back, don't let us lose you again," Anne urged.
Sasha grumbled in annoyance, but despite her feelings, she knew deep down that going after Belos and Andrias now was a big risk. She was still willing to take that chance, but she also didn't like the idea of worrying her friends more than she has already.
"Fine, I'll wait," Sasha said. "Just don't keep me waiting too long."
"It will take as long as needed," Star said. "I understand your desire to save everyone, but times like these, we need to be smart."
"Yeah, yeah," Sasha said as she left the room. "I'm going to grab a drink."
"Nothing alcoholic," Star reminded.
"Ugh, such a stupid rule for someone like me to follow, but whatever. I'll grab a soda," Sasha said, making her leave.
"Does Mewni have soda?" Luz asked.
"There's probably some from Earth," Anne said. "Or Sasha might just go to an Earth store to get some."
"That sounds nice," Luz said.
Higgs glanced in Sasha's direction, still worried for the girl as she went to pursue her friend. Star looked on, feeling a bit guilty for having to be so tough, but she knew she had to make some tough choices. Speaking of choices.
"Anne, Luz," Star called to the two girls. "I need to speak to you both." Star made her way out of the room. "Once the nurses are finished with your medical treatment, come find me in my room."
"Star, wait up," Kelly said. "What do you want us to do about our other guest?"
Star turned around to see that Kelly was gesturing to Hunter, the boy still sitting in disbelief. "Keep an eye on him, if you don't mind."
"Sure, I guess so," Kelly said, turning her attention to Hunter.
"Anne, Luz, remember, see me later," Star said as she left.
"Yeah, sure," Anne said. The girl turned her attention to Luz. "Looks like we have a royal meeting."
"Looks like it," Luz said.
Outside the room, Sasha grumbled in frustration, thinking about all the drama that has unfolded. Despite her word, she still had every intention to go back to the Boiling Isles, to fight for her friends, and for her honor as a knight.
"Sasha!" Higgs called. "Hey, wait up!"
"What is it, Higgs?" Sasha asked.
"I just wanted to check on you," Higgs said. "Things got pretty intense in there with um...Acting Queen Star."
"Yeah? What about it?" Sasha asked. "She just told me not to go after Belos or Andrias. Kind of dumb not to strike while we can but it's her call. I just hope she can live with whatever choice she makes."
"Look Sasha, I don't want to make excuses or anything but, Queen Star does have our best interest in mind," Higgs said. "And she has a point. When we went after Belos and Andrias alone, we nearly got killed. I was so worried about you after I got sent back, I don't want to feel that way again."
"If Star just lets me, I can be done in no time," Sasha said. "I made a mistake last time, I won't make it twice. Besides, Belos is not only hurt, he's likely distracted by everyone else. We came close just now, this is the best chance to go for the win."
"You're hurt too," Higgs reminded. "You got roughed up pretty badly, and you weren't fighting your best out there. You need time to heal up too."
"Even so, how can I just stand here and do nothing!?" Sasha asked in frustration. "Grime needs me. He's always helped me out before, how would I look if I turned against one of the first friends I made in Amphibia? Probably the only friend I made there!"
"Grime's tough, he's an army General after all," Higgs said.
"Then there's Marcy, my best friend since childhood," Sasha said, thinking about the girl. "I always worried that one day she would do something that gets herself killed. I hoped it was me worrying over nothing. Then when Belos struck..."
"Sasha..." Higgs tried to reach out to the girl.
"I promised that I would protect Marcy, and Anne," Sasha said, shutting her eyes in an attempt to stop any tears from surfacing. "I stumbled a few times, but I never gave up. I just can't accept that in the end, I couldn't save Marcy when she needed me the most!"
"I get that, and Marcy might be alive," Higgs said. "Andrias seemed concerned for her safety."
"Probably for his own gain," Sasha angrily grabbed her sword. "If he tries manipulating her again, I am going to personally show him his greatest nightmares come to life!"
"Whoa, that's intense," Higgs said. "But I respect how much you care about your friends."
"Of course, all my friends are important to me," Sasha said. "Just like Hekapoo."
"The girl from the Magical High Commision, right?" Higgs asked.
"Yeah, she's probably my best friend in Mewni," Sasha said. "And one of my closest friends, period."
"Best friend in Mewni? Wow, that's quite an honor," Higgs said, almost feeling jealous.
"You're a good friend yourself, but Hekapoo, she's on a whole different level," Sasha said. "She and I were always close. I'm pretty close with all the Commision Members, including Rhombulus and Omnitrax. But Hekapoo, she's just a bit different. She and I spent a lot of time training in the Neverzone, probably sixteen years. It wasn't easy training, but it was worth it. It helped me gain levels that were just beyond my reach."
"You're lucky, I didn't expect a member of the Magic High Commision to train just about anyone, Mewman or not," Higgs said.
"As far as humans go, I was probably Hekapoo's favorite, outside of Marco," Sasha said.
"Marco is the favorite of a lot of girls, at least that's what it feels like," Higgs commented. "Like, I get it, he is kind of handsome, but a bit overhyped too."
"He does deserve his hype, even Hekapoo says he handled things better than even Mewni's best soldiers," Sasha said. "But, I just might have been on a whole different level. Hekapoo was quite amazed by my skills, I dare say that she's been smitten by me. Not many can claim that."
"I've seen you fight, you definitely have some amazing skills," Higgs said. "You're brave too of course."
"Thanks," Sasha seemed grateful, but began feeling worried. "Thing is, I haven't seen Hekapoo in so long. I made one mistake and she ended up paying for it more than I did. Seeing her again after so long, it really made my heart skip a beat." Sasha began to smile a bit, fondly thinking of the monster girl. "The best part of today was being in her embrace. I missed that feeling, and I missed her. I...really care about Hekapoo. And I know she cares about me. She risked her life to come save me, I just can't stand not doing anything for her."
"Hey, she's strong, and we'll save her," Higgs said. "Just don't give up, I'll be right by your side."
"I appreciate that Higgs," Sasha said. "You're a great friend to have."
"Thanks," Higgs bashfully said.
"But, I suppose I should just listen to Star, even if I hate it," Sasha said. "I will rescue Hekapoo. There's a lot that I want to tell her after all, and I won't rest until she knows just how much I value her and her company."
"Hopefully Queen Star won't take too long to give that order," Higgs said.
"You know what, since we gotta wait, let's just chill and relax in my chambers," Sasha said. "You and I can just hang out for a bit, get to know each other a bit more."
"Oh, I'd love that!" Higgs said.
"One day, I might just bring you with me to go shopping on Hollywood Boulevard," Sasha said.
"Huh? What's Hollywood?" Higg asked.
"My hometown, you remember right?" Sasha asked. "You went there for The Big Christmas Parade."
"Oh yeah...interesting name for a town that isn't in the forest or anything," Higgs said.
"It's definitely unique," Sasha said. "Anyway, let's get going."
"Right behind you," Higgs said, following Sasha.
Meanwhile, in a seemingly unfamiliar world, Amity was sitting by a campfire as Marco bandaged her arm.
"There you go," Marco said. "That should help."
"Thanks," Amity said, glancing at Marco's shirt. The boy had torn off part of his clothes to help her out. "Sorry about your shirt."
"It's nothing, you're more important to me than a shirt," Marco said. The boy stood up, looking into the distance. "I gotta figure out where we are."
"Do you recognize this world?" Amity asked.
"I might, I did a lot of multiverse travel," Marco said, the boy checking his hands. "Since I lost the scissors, we need to find another way back home. You stay here, I'll be right back."
Marco made his leave as Amity stayed by the campfire. Despite her own injury, she was more worried about Marco.
"He was so focused on me that he forgot he took a hit to the chest," Amity said. "He's got blood all over his shirt, I hope he doesn't pass out from the pain."
Amity started feeling strange thinking about Marco. She could not understand the boy at all, and it frustrated her.
"Marco...how do you go from being sweet, innocent and somewhat goofy one minute, to being this badass fighter the next?" Amity wondered. "It's honestly no wonder you have so many friends who trust you. When we're worried, you're either someone who could physically comfort us, or someone who would fight off monsters for us. You're almost never scared and you always put others before you. How did we get lucky in meeting someone so pure?"
Amity had thoughts passing through her mind, including those of curiosity and romance.
"All my life, I have never had a crush on a boy. I've only ever liked girls," Amity said to herself. "I grew up thinking girls were cute, and being indifferent to boys, it was my norm. Yet, when Marco's around, I feel so enamored by him. It's not admiration, it's physical affection. I genuinely have a crush on him, and I just don't get why!?" Amity grew frustrated. "Why is Marco the only boy in the multiverse I find attractive?"
Amity did her best to wrap her head around everything, but it did little to calm her mind.
" If I were bisexual, I think I would have realized that much sooner than recently," Amity concluded. "Hexside has some objectively cute boys. But I only ever liked the girls. No way I'm realizing I'm bisexual now, it just doesn't add up! Yeah that girl, Jackie Lynn Thomas seemed to realize it, but to Sasha's point, I find it strange that it took her so long. Then again, what do I know about emotions and junk? I spend more time studying magic than anything else. Me liking girls hardly mattered because I was always more focused on being a great witch than finding a girlfriend. I could have just found girls cute in a non romantic way and been secretly straight but...no, that's way too stupid of a theory."
Amity took a moment to think her romance life over. As well as her crushes.
"Okay, let's start with the girls," Amity began reminiscing. "Luz, I liked her. I had a crush on her for a long time, but obviously we can't be together because of Anne. My fault though, I suck at making the first move, or capitalizing if I do. If things worked out, Luz and I could have been dating. But she's with Anne, and if she's happy, that's fine with me."
Amity still felt bad about missing out, but she was determined to completely move past it.
"Then there's Anne herself," Amity blushed thinking about the girl. "I will admit, she's cute too. I probably could see myself dating her if I had the chance. Sasha's also cute but I don't like her personality. It's a big turn off for me, just like Boscha was. Marcy's also cute, definitely would have dated her. Of course, I was invited to a date she and Marco had, so I got a nice sample of what could have been.
Amity did recall Marcy and Marco in the Neverzone, and how great they looked. It brought a big blush to her face.
"Then there's Star," Amity recalled the one time she saw plenty of her. "Geez, I kind of feel bad about seeing her naked without her noticing. But wow, she's round in all the right places, especially down below. I kind of want to grope her and..." Amity aggressively shook her head. "Holy shit, why would I even say that!? I sound like a freaking pervert!"
She took a break, and moved on from the awkwardness.
"Okay, let's move on," Amity said. "Willow, too much like a sister, I can't date her. Higgs, not my type. Janna, she sucks. Maddie...she's a frog! Why am I contemplating a frog!? Yeah she's not a frog-frog but still!"
Amity moved along, focusing on the guys.
"Okay, with the boys, first there's Tom, but...no, I can't see myself with him," Amity said. "Hunter, even if he wasn't the Royal Guard I don't think I find him attractive enough to date. Sprig...is a freaking frog! Ugh, again with the frogs! I feel bad for saying this but I am not dating a frog."
Amity laid back in annoyance.
"Marco is the only boy I have a crush on, and I hate it!" Amity said, sighing in annoyance while looking up with a pained expression on her face. "He's got a girlfriend, I can't be with him. Maybe they're open to a three person relationship but...ugh, no, that would be too weird. Still, how do I go about my feelings? I really want Marco. Damn...so complicated."
Meanwhile with Marco, the boy got close to town, spotting what looked like a tavern.
"I know this place," Marco got closer and saw something aggressively tossed out.
"Yeah! Don't mess with the Talon!" a familiar voice said.
"Talon?" Marco peeked inside, finding the mercenary bird chugging some ale.
"Ah, that's the good stuff," Talon said, rotating his shoulders. "That punch felt kind of weak though, I need to stay in shape. Maybe I'll go look for another monster."
"Talon!" Came Marco's voice, getting the attention of the mercenary for hire.
"Well if it isn't Marco Diaz," Talon said. "Or do you prefer Princess Turdina?"
"Just Marco," the boy said. "Listen we got a problem."
"What kind of...wait," Talon noticed Marco's condition. "Geez, you look like you lost a fight."
"I did, sort of," Marco shamefully admitted. "Hey, I need your help."
"Need me to beat up whatever hurt you?" Talon taunted, getting a laugh from some nearby guys. "I knew one day you'd come crawling back to me."
"Hey, can you not be a jackass for five seconds?" Marco asked, the boy growing irritated. "Plus if I recall, the last time we fought together, you got your soul sucked out by Meteora."
"Yeah, but I looked awesome doing it," Talon said.
"Good for you, but you and I need to talk," Marco said. "I'm stranded in this dimension. The guy I was fighting pulled a fast one on me and-"
"Wait, what about your scissors?" Talon asked. "You didn't lose them again, did you?"
"Dude, not the time for that," Marco said.
"Hekpaoo won't like knowing you lost your scissors, those things are very valuable," Talon said.
"I didn't lose them on purpose!" Marco shouted. "Look, can you please just help me out here? Hekapoo's probably in danger and-"
"Danger?" Talon asked. "With Hekapoo?"
"Yes, the fight I was in, I wasn't alone," Marco said. "All my friends were there. Me, Star, Kelly, Hekapoo, even the witches from The Boiling Isles, the frogs from Wartwood and the girls from Earth."
"Does that include the one with the poofy hair?" Talon asked.
"You mean Anne? Yes," Marco said.
"I always wondered how a human could get such poofy hair," Talon said.
"You can ask her later," Marco said. "Look, me and one of the girls got stranded here."
"The blonde one?" Talon asked.
"That's Sasha and no," Marco said.
"The one with the little papers?" Talon asked.
"If you mean Luz, not her either," Marco said.
"The scrawny annoying one with the crossbow?" Talon asked.
Marco grabbed the humanoid bird by his shirt, looking right into his eyes, "I'll ask you nicely, just once, not to talk shit about my girlfriend!"
"Oh right...you were dating one," Talon said, freeing himself from Marco's grip. "Geez, you got really aggressive there. That girl must mean a lot to you."
"Duh, like I said, she's my girlfriend, and she's in danger too!" Marco shouted. "She nearly got killed by Emperor Belos!"
"Belos?" Talon asked.
"Right, you lost your soul when he showed up," Marco said. "Belos is an Emperor from The Boiling Isles who stole Meteora's magic and reverted her into a baby that he plans to raise. He, along with another guy named Andrias, the King of Newtopia, are trying to take over the multiverse."
"Hm...the name Andrias sounds familiar," Talon said. "Still, this is some gnarly stuff. You know what, I'll help you out."
"Finally, you got scissors?" Marco asked.
"No I do not," Talon said. "Not at the moment at least.'
"Huh?" Marco asked in disbelief. "I thought you had a pair!"
"Well, I did, Hekapoo gave one to me," Talon said. "Buuuuuut, I misplaced it."
Marco's eye began twitching as he lunged to attack Talon, "THIS ISN'T SOME TYPE OF GAME YOU MORON!"
"Whoa! Take it easy!" Talon said as some guys came to pull Marco off.
In a fit of rage, Marco began fighting off the others, throwing powerful punches and kicks, sending them flying across the room.
Talon could not believe his eyes, Marco had such a righteous fury that startled even him. When the dust cleared, Marco was huffing in anger, wiping some dust off of himself and fixing his hair.
"Sorry, I kind of lost my temper there," Marco said, then glared at Talon. "Still, giving me shit for losing my scissors while you lost yours-"
"I didn't say I lost mine, I said I misplaced it," Talon said. "They're somewhere in my pad, if you give me a chance to find them, then I can get you home."
"Ugh, fine," Marco said. "Still, it's good to know where I am. I should head back to camp and let Amity know."
"Who's Amity?" Talon asked.
"The girl I mentioned was here with me," Marco said. "If you remember a witch with purple hair, that's her."
"Oh right, the judgmental looking one," Talon said.
Marco furrowed his brow at the bird, "What do you mean 'judgemental'?"
"Well she always has that disinterested look in her eyes, and I feel like she judges everyone she makes eye contact with," Talon said.
"You're describing the wrong girl," Marco said. "Amity is a sweetheart. She does not pass judgment on others for no reason."
"If you say so," Talon replied.
"I gotta check on Amity, I'll bring her back to town if she can move," Marco said. "If anything, we can meet back at this place."
"Fine with me," Talon said. "Just be careful, some of these guys may want a rematch when they wake up."
"Tell them to bring it on," Marco said, making his leave.
Back in Mewni, Kelly and Tom were seen bringing Willow, Gus and Maddie somewhere, leading them through the halls of the castle.
"So, where are we going?" Gus asked.
"I gotta show you something," Kelly said.
"Show us what?" Maddie asked. "Also, didn't Star ask you to watch over Hunter?"
"This is related to Hunter," Kelly said, taking them near the cell he was once held up in. "In fact, he's right there."
Everyone turned their attention to Hunter, the boy sitting alone in the cell, staring off into nothing.
"Hunter?" Maddie asked. "Hey, what are you doing?"
"Nothing..." Hunter replied, not even facing the group.
"Any reason you're in there?" Tom asked.
"This is where I belong," Hunter said, his voice having lost practically all emotion, matching his soulless gaze.
"Did Star lock you up again?" Willow asked.
"No...I want to be here," Hunter said.
"Why?" Gus asked.
"Because, there is nothing for me out there," Hunter said.
Tom scratched his head in worry, "Geez, his uncle betraying him must have been really bad."
"Tom!" Willow scolded.
"What, it's true," Tom said. "He looks really hurt."
"Of course, but you don't need to point out the obvious like that, "Willow said.
"Hey, Hunter, "Gus tried calling to him. "You don't need to be in there, given what happened, I think Star will offer some leniency."
"I don't want any," Hunter said.
"Come on, you can't stay in there forever, now can you?" Willow asked.
"It's where I belong,'" Hunter said.
"But you don't have to belong there, dude!" Tom insisted. "I'm sorry you felt betrayed, but you can still make a difference. Why don't you join with us?"
"Yeah, you can be part of our squad," Gus said.
"Sure beats being in there all the time, what do you say?" Kelly asked.
Hunter had no response, he just continued staring at the wall, too apathetic to feel anything.
"This is going to take some time," Maddie said.
"Let's give him some breathing room then," Tom said. "We'll discuss this with Star later."
"Isn't there anything we can do for Hunter?" Willow asked.
"Right now, I think he still needs to process what Belos did," Kelly said. "Once he does, then who knows what comes next. But the smart thing would be to not pester him about it."
"Uh, alright, if you say so," Willow said.
The group let Hunter be, the boy still thinking over his situation, unsure of what to do, or what to feel. For now, he would just remain in place.
A bit later, Luz and Anne had met with Star in her room, the Acting Queen taking a quick look around.
"Is it just you two?" Star asked.
"Yeah, Sprig, Polly and King went to go find Lilith," Anne said. "I don't know where Sasha and Higgs are, hopefully they're okay."
"I think Kelly is with Hunter," Luz said. "Honestly, I'm kind of worried about him. I always felt like Belos was feigning affection, I really hoped Hunter would have seen the light much sooner."
"It sucks what happened, but it can't be undone," Star said.
"Well, I think Willow is going to check on him too, she's good with comforting," Luz said. "But, I figure we're not here to talk about Hunter."
"Not directly, but it can help him and everyone," Star said, gesturing the girls further inside. "It's no secret that we really, REALLY need to defeat Andrias and Belos. Those two are clearly big trouble for us."
"I'm all for stopping them, but clearly we haven't had much success," Luz said. "We've had two big battles against them at least twice."
"The first time at Andrias's castle," Anne recalled. "You weren't there of course, but the rest of us barely got out of there in one piece. Marco was nearly killed."
"Then just now at Belos's castle, and things were much worse this time around," Luz said. "I hate to say it, but these guys are way too strong."
"At this rate, we might need to do more training in the Neverzone," Anne said. "Though I guess one problem is that while we have skills, it doesn't do a lot for us in this dimension. We definitely don't keep our muscles."
"Belos and Andrias just might have been around for a really long time," Luz said. "We're not close to their experience."
"Pfft, we didn't need to match Toffee's experience to finish that gecko off," Star said. "We can defeat Belos and Andrias, but we just need a coordinated attack. Now, the first time you were ambushed, and the second time, I admit we did walk into a trap but we could have been better prepared for that. I couldn't bring my army because that was too suspicious. The next time we strike, we gotta strike hard and with more allies."
"That's easier said than done," Luz said. "What other allies do we have?"
"We have Edric and Emira," Star said. "I bet they'd be willing to help after finding out what Belos did to their sister."
"Come to think of it, how are Amity's parents going to react?" Anne asked.
"Well, she has a bad relationship with her mother, but I should hope that even Odalia cares enough about Amity to support our plans to overthrow Belos," Luz said.
"Exactly, we need more allies from unexpected places," Star said. "Marco and I have traveled the multiverse quite a bit, we can definitely find some allies. Even whoever you had when fighting Meteora."
"You mean Pony Head and Talon?" Anne asked.
"I don't think I want to deal with Ponyhead," Luz said.
"I know she's a pain, but we don't have a lot of choice here," Star said. "I might know of more who can help too, if I need to I'll even see if Ruberiot and Foolduke can lend a hand."
"Ruberiot and Foolduke?" Anne asked. "But, one's a musician and the other is a jester."
"They helped out big time when Ludo first took over," Star said. "Then they helped again when escaping the Island of the Pie Folk."
Luz still seemed unsure, "Well, I guess if they're willing to help. Still though..."
"Anne, you got any friends from Amphibia," Star asked.
"Well there is Wartwood, and quite honestly, aside from Buff Frog, Ivy's mother is pretty good at fighting," Anne said. "I'd have to check back and see if anyone is willing to fight against Andrias."
"It won't be easy, I can't imagine we'll have too many willing volunteers, but it's worth the effort," Star said. "A big part of our success will be numbers."
"What's the other part?" Luz asked.
"Good planning of course," Star said. "We need less of a brute force approach, and more strategy. Figure out the best places to strike and weaken their defenses in both realms. A good way is to try and keep their forces divided. If we go after them as a group, they might overwhelm us. But if we separate their main forces, it could prove to be in our advantage."
"Honestly though, there aren't that many," Anne said. "Somehow I don't think Belos and Andrias rely on their lieutenants so to speak."
"Yeah, they're strong on their own," Luz said. "Not to mention it will be hard to keep them away from their armies."
"We know it will be hard, but it won't be impossible," Star said. "I promise you girls, I will come up with a good plan. I will stay up all night, looking at possibilities, but we need to gather allies in the meantime to bring them to our cause."
"Well, before any of that, I think our main priority should be finding out where Marco and Amity are," Anne said. "Then figuring out a way to save Marcy."
"We'd need to get through Andrias to save Marcy," Star reminded. "But I do agree on finding Marco and Amity. I'll search the mirror portal."
"What about that one room?" Anne asked. "The room Luz used to find her mother?"
"That room only works if I know where the person is," Luz said. "If I don't know where Marco or Amity are, I don't think it will show us."
"Are you sure? Have you tried it?" Anne asked.
"I can try, but it's not a guarantee," Luz said. "Plus that portal isn't easy to open in the first place."
"Ugh, everything has some type of catch to it," Anne said. "We can't use the scissors either, right?"
"Unless you know where they are, no," Star said. "Look, I can find them, I won't rest until I do. I don't want anything bad happening to Marco or Amity. I also definitely do not want anything bad happening to Marcy. Right now, let's just make plans and within a few days, we'll lead the charge."
"Alright," Luz said. "Also, what are the odds that any of our friends survived and are on their way right now? I don't mean Marco, Amity or Marcy. I'm talking Eda, and Hop Pop, and even Hekapoo."
"Honestly, I hope Rhombulus shows up, he could be a big help," Star said.
"Oh yeah, his skills are pretty tough, aren't they?" Anne asked. "He can just crystalize Belos. I think."
"It's more than that..." Star said. "Come on, I have something to show you girls."
Star led Anne and Luz through the castle, toward a mysterious cave. Luz and Anne seemed amazed by the sights, seeing a whole different part of Mewni.
"Where are we?" Luz asked.
"It looks like some type of Grotto," Anne said.
Star kept walking until she reached her destination. "We're here, look."
Star gestured to something that spooked Luz and Anne really hard as the girls latched onto one another in fear.
"Wh-what the heck is that supposed to be!?" Anne shouted in worry.
"It looks like a monster!" Luz said. "A huge monster!"
"Girls...meet Globgor," Star said, gesturing to the crystalized monster.
"Globgor?" Luz asked. "You mean Eclipsa's monster lover?"
"And Meteora's father," Anne said.
"Exactly," Star said. "This is where Globgor's been imprisoned, specifically by Rhombulus. Ever since it was revealed that Eclipsa was not loyal to her husband, and had a baby from a monster, here Globgor has remained, encased in crystal while Meteora was traded away."
"Wasn't that like, Five Hundred Years ago?" Anne asked.
"Yeah, five centuries like this," Star said, placing her hand on the crystal. "Poor boy, he just might have back problems the moment he gets out."
"Wait, did you bring us here to tell us that you want to free this guy?" Luz asked.
"That would be ideal," Star said. "But that might also be very difficult. Only Rhombulus can free him, unless we find another way."
"Is there really no way to break through this crystal?" Anne asked.
"Eclipsa did, but only because she cast a magic spell when my mom was little," Star said. "Back when she was crystalized, the spell said that once her enemy was killed, Eclipsa would be free. Of course, my mom did not kill the enemy, not yet at least."
"Your mom needed Eclipsa's help?" Anne asked.
"Not sure if you've been told but when my mother was little, her mother, Queen Comet, was killed by Toffee's army," Star said. "So my mother became Queen when she was my age and sought a spell to kill Toffee. Thing with that guy was that no matter what happened, he would constantly regenerate. My mom needed a spell that blocked his regeneration, and got it from Eclipsa. My mom didn't kill Toffee, but she did wound him. Toffee didn't die until many years later after me, mom, Marco, Buff Frog and Ludo finished him off."
"Ludo is the little guy with the break, right?" Luz asked.
"Yes," Star said. "Looks like he's with Belos now, or so I think he is. He's not really evil, just annoying."
"Still, for Eclipsa to come up with a spell like that," Anne said. "Too bad she's not around to free Globgor."
"She's tried to, her magic won't work again," Star said. "I noticed when I brought Maddie, Willow and Gus down here."
"Wait, you showed them too?" Anne asked.
"They came looking for me and found me here, paying my respects to Globgor," Star said. "Honestly, I feel terrible for him. Even if we free him, what is there to come back to? His true love is dead, and his daughter was taken by an evil Emperor."
"Well..." Luz began. "We can't change what happened to Eclipsa, but Globgor may want to at least save his daughter."
"I'm with you on that, Luz," Anne said. "The problem is that we still don't have a way to free him."
"Maybe some magic from The Demon Realm or Amphibia can help," Luz said. "Worth a shot at least."
"Good thinking Luz," Star said. "We'll figure something out, we just can't give up."
"We sure won't," Luz said, raising her fist triumphantly in the air. "We'll the multiverse, together."
"Right, together," Anne said, mimicking Luz's motions. "We're with you Star!"
"Thanks, I appreciate that," Star said, turning to face the girls. "You know, you two have done a lot for me over the last few weeks. I had no idea what to expect when I first met any of you. But I can proudly say that, I am so happy to have good friends like you."
"Aw, it's nothing," Anne insisted.
"Magic girls look out for one another," Luz said.
"I owe you two, big time," Star said, bringing the girls in for a group hug. "When this is over, you two are going to be heroes!"
"Helping out a friend is enough of a reward," Anne said, returning the hug.
"That and the adventure that comes with it," Luz said, also returning the hug.
"You two are great," Star said, pulling back. "Still, you deserve the praise you will inevitably get."
"Weeeeeeeeeell," Anne began. "I am cool with a statue. I can even suggest a cool pose that will be sure to impress Mewni."
"Ugh, it's not that stupid dab pose, is it?" Luz asked.
"Stupid? The dab is timeless!" Anne said, performing the movement. "Nothing is cooler than this!"
"Por favor Anne, don't give me that nonsense," Luz said. "That's just cringe stuff. It's more out of style than Disco."
"Hey, Disco's cool too," Anne said.
Luz widened her eyes in disbelief, "Ay dios mio, I know I can be a dork, but you're way beyond even me."
"You know you love it," Anne teased.
"Ugh, don't make me say it, I really don't want to," Luz said.
"Oh why? Does it make you feel a rush of passion?" Anne wrapped her arms around Luz's neck, seductively gazing into her eyes. "You know you can't get enough of this weirdness."
"...I should have figured my fascination with weird stuff would land me a weird girlfriend," Luz said, returning Anne's embrace. "You're so lucky you're cute."
"Not as lucky as you are," Anne said, then brought Luz in for a kiss.
Star chuckled to herself, almost envying the two, "You're both cute together."
Anne broke away from the kiss, happily glancing at Star, "Damn right we are."
"I wish I could be with someone I truly loved," Star said, reminiscing a bit.
Luz raised her eyebrow at the girl, "But, you have a boyfriend. It's Tom."
"Hm?" Star snapped out of it. "Oh, right! Of course! I was just joking, Tom's my true love."
Luz looked very suspiciously at Star. Even Anne wasn't sure what to make of this. Both girls cautiously glanced at one another, wondering what was going through this girl's mind.
"Are you feeling okay, Star?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, guess I'm still a little out of it from the fight," Star said. "Look, don't mind me, you two can make out to your heart's content. Actually, what's it like kissing a girl if you are a girl? Have either of you kissed a boy to compare it?"
"Uh..." Luz recalled her kiss with Marco weeks back, one she was quite fond of thinking about it. "Yeah, I have kissed a boy."
Anne also recalled her own kiss with Marco, and the attraction she felt to him, "I've kissed a boy too."
"So, any difference?" Star asked.
"It's hard to explain," Luz said. "When it's with the boy, you can feel some masculine energy, so to speak. With a girl, it's feminine doubled."
"Yeah, what she said," Anne replied. "You kind of have to experience it for yourself."
"Hm...maybe I should experiment," Star said.
"...But you have a boyfriend already," Anne reminded. "We just established that."
"Uh, right,I do," Star said. "Man, I probably need some sleep, don't I?"
"You definitely need something, chica," Luz said.
"Lets head back to the castle, we can grab some food first, and then lay down a bit," Star said. "I'll even let you girls use my bed."
"That's...kind of you," Anne said, Luz cautiously nodding.
"Think nothing of it," Star said, leading the girls away. "Enough dilly dallying, let's go home."
Luz and Anne still felt suspicious, but obliged in following Star, hoping to get more sense out of all this.
With Sprig, he along with Polly and King had found Lilith, the woman speaking with Moon and River, updating them to what's been happening.
"This is quite outrageous," Moon said.
"I concur, how dare Belos and Andrias defy us in this manner!" River said.
"It is getting worse," Lilith said. "I actually had to stop by The Owl House to get Hooty."
The owl in question was stretching around the room, "It's getting worse! Much worse! The Island is falling apart!"
"I see, poor fellow," Moon said, then noticed the kids. "Oh, hello young ones."
"Hi Mrs. Butterfly," Sprig greeted. "We just came to check on Lilith."
"I'm fine," Lilith said. "With my scissors, I could keep a reasonable distance from danger."
"I see you brought Hooty," King said.
Hooty stopped spiraling and went to check on his fellow demon. "King, my buddy! It's been way too long! There's so much that I have to-"
Suddenly Hooty threw up a bunch of junk, startling and grossing out everyone around.
"Ew! Nasty!" Polly said.
"Not cool dude," Sprig said.
"Oh my," Moon said.
"My word," River replied.
"Oh boy..." Lilith lamented.
King looked just as disgusted as the rest. "Ugh, Hooty, didn't Eda tell you to stop eating so much...wait," King glanced at a letter in the pile. "This is addressed to me!"
"For you?" Sprig asked. "Guess it's a good thing Hooty eats junk, it got you your mail."
"Still gross though," Polly said.
King opened the letter, glancing in disbelief, "No way..."
"What is it?" Sprig asked.
"It's a letter from my father!" King said in disbelief, surprising everyone present.
"Your who!?" Sprig asked.
"Did you say your father!?" Polly asked, checking the letter too.
"He must have seen me on TV during that big race," King said. "But wait, that was a couple of months ago!"
"Hooty, do you know when you got this letter?" Sprig asked.
"Not really, it's been weeks since I ate this garbage," Hooty said.
King glared in disbelief, "You mean to tell me that the reason I got his letter so late is because you ATE it!?"
"...Kind of," Hooty said.
"Wow..." Polly replied. "Has anyone ever told you that you're an annoying piece of crap?"
"I have been told that, mostly by Amity," Hooty said.
"Well, add me to that list," Polly said. "Hooty, you're an annoying piece of crap."
"...Noted," Hooty sadly said.
"Come now, let's focus on the good news," Lilith said. "King, you have a letter from your father, what will you do now?"
"I guess, I should see what he wants," King said. "But, is now a good time? Especially after what Belos did?"
"I know you're worried, but you gotta do what's right for you, King," Polly said. "If you have a chance to see your father, I think Luz would understand if you want to take a break."
"We'll go with you," Sprig said. "Anne won't mind."
"And we can bring Ivy along too," Polly said.
"...I guess," King said. "Give me time to think about this."
"Sure thing buddy," Sprig said.
King looked over the letter, heavily contemplating if he wanted to take his father's offer or not, at least now. He had too much to think about.
With Marco, he had checked up on Amity once again, making sure her arm was alright, "I think the bleeding is slowing down, fortunately I found some medicine in town to help."
"Thanks Marco, I really appreciate it," Amity said, the girl blushing a bit.
"It's nothing, and fortunately I found Talon, so we should have our ticket home soon," Marco said. "He just needs to find his scissors."
"Hopefully we won't be stranded out here too long then," Amity said, the girl looking very worried.
Marco could easily tell that Amity was feeling concerned about their situation. He hated seeing her or any of his friends like this. "I'm sorry Amity."
"Hm? Sorry? For what?" Amity asked.
"I'm sorry you're stuck here with me," Marco said.
"Huh? Why are you apologizing for that?" Amity asked. Nothing you did got me into this mess."
"You got hurt trying to save Marcy, that was my job," Marco said. "Then when I had a chance to kill Belos, I screwed it up and gave Andrias an opening to attack. Had things gone well, Belos would at least be dead and we could have focused on stopping Andrias, maybe do away with him too."
"What happened was bad, but nothing you need to blame yourself for," Amity said. "The fault lies in Belos and Andrias. We'll get them back for this."
"I...I really hope so," Marco said, a tear coming to his eye. "I really let Marcy down. I...I really hope she's okay."
"She'll be fine," Amity wiped away Marco's tear, affectionately rubbing his face and looking into his eyes. "Marcy's strong, she won't let an injury like that stop her. Plus at the very least Andrias seemed to want her alive, I don't know why but at least we know she can be saved."
"Yeah, I suppose so," Marco said.
"We'll save her," Amity said, then planted a kiss on Marco's cheek. "Together."
In spite of his sadness, Marco mustered a smile, nodding for Amity. "Yeah, together."
The boy continued treating Amity's wound as the girl looked into the distance, wondering what was to come.
In The Demon Realm, Belos sat upon his throne in a secret room, healing up from his recent fight. He hated to admit it, but his foes were stronger than he expected.
"Those fools, trying to challenge my power, they're lucky they haven't met a worser fate!" Belos said.
"Whoa, someone's mad!" Came a nearby voice from within the walls. "Are you mad that you got beat up? I bet you are!"
"Not now, Collector," Belos said. "I am plotting my next scheme."
"All alone? What about that Newt Guy?" Collector asked.
"It might be best if Andrias and myself call off our alliance for now," Belos said. "It is fine, he has his own plans, and I have mine. Many of them involving my daughter."
"The Mewman-Monster hybrid?" Collector asked.
"Yes, she will grow to be a fine successor, in time I shall teach her my ways," Belos said. "I should hope you mind your manners around her when that time comes."
"If she's not boring," Collector said.
"First, I must dispose of my enemies, then all will fall into line," Belos said. "And my grand plan will draw even closer."
In Amphibia, Andrias was looking over an incubation chamber that contained Marcy, the girl already healing from her near fatal injury.
"Good, I got her here just in time," Andrias said. "Lousy Belos, that guy never listens. Whatever, he can do his own thing, I have my plans underway. Still, even I can't believe he would betray his nephew. Useless as the boy was, I figured even Belos would have mercy for his family. Oh well, it's none of my business anyway."
Andrias made his way upstairs, glancing back once more at Marcy. A look of guilt briefly flashed across his face, before the king shrugged it off. He had plans and he was too far along to stop them.
As Andrias walked along, he passed by what seemed like several orange lights gazing at him, "She's here, once she's healed up then you may have yourself a fine vessel." He glared at the lights. "I still think you're making a mistake, there are far better hosts." After listening for a bit, he sighed in annoyance, "Right, you know best I guess. If this is your wish, then I won't stop you. Just hope it's what you truly want."
In her pod, despite her unconsciousness, Marcy could still remember certain things. She was met with wonderful dreams, ones of her childhood to teen years friendship with Marcy and Sasha. Ones with her new witch friends, Luz and Amity. And ones with the boy she loved dearly, that of Marco.
"Marco..." In spite of Marcy's condition, her heart yearned for the boy who laid claim to it. In spite of her happy dreams, deep down, she felt far from him, and wanted him back. She hoped to be in his embrace once more. She wanted to be with her true love once again.
Both of them felt the pull, but it felt like lightyears apart from one another.
Things may be looking up however, as a familiar robot was awoken in a lab, hearing these voices from Ally and Jess.
"Return to Mewni," Ally said.
"Find Anne and Luz," Jess said.
Frobo opened his eyes, ready to go. "Must return to Mewni. Must find friends."
Things looked down, but no one was ready to quit, and were still eager to continue fighting for as long as they needed to.
