Morax the Geo Archon: Billionaire in the Chat Group

Chapter 33: I, the Geo Archon Morax with 2.1 Billion Mora, Have Joined a Chat Group [33]

As Zhongli came into view, Nana's emotions were complicated.

Although she had long recognized the extent of Zhongli's power and magnified it in her mind countless times, she had not anticipated that even what he referred to as a "weaker" avatar could so effortlessly neutralize an entire anti-superhuman military unit in just three minutes—and still have the leisure to seek them out afterward.

"I…" Nana glanced at Zhongli, then at Nakajima Nanao, the boy she had once wronged. The words she wanted to say condensed into a single hesitant phrase: "He… won't hurt us for now."

Zhongli shook his head. "No need to explain to me, nor to waste words on unnecessary matters. Since you've formed a contract with this boy, you must honor it faithfully."

With that, Zhongli rested one hand behind his back and held his polearm before him with the other.

"Let's go."

They moved as a group, trailing behind Zhongli. The superhuman youths glanced nervously at the scene outside the building.

Rows of fully armed soldiers in tactical gear stood at attention, their presence intimidating even to these children who had grown up seeing war depicted only in comics, television, or games. The sight alone elicited sharp intakes of breath.

Cautiously, they followed Zhongli step by step.

After nearly an hour of walking, they finally approached the outskirts of the small park they had left behind.

The scene now was unrecognizable.

The once tranquil park had transformed into a scorched battlefield. Burning trees and shattered remnants of armored vehicles littered the ground, which was scorched black. Twisted wrecks of a dozen destroyed armored vehicles stood as silent witnesses to the chaos.

Further out, the wreckage of downed helicopters lay scattered.

The superhuman youths, who had never experienced real war, stared wide-eyed at the desolation.

Beyond the wreckage was a field of bodies.

Hundreds of soldiers lay sprawled on the ground, their fates uncertain. While the uniforms and bloodied injuries suggested grim outcomes, none were moving.

"Ahhhh…!"

Some of the youths stifled screams, covering their mouths as they froze in terror.

"Do not fear," Zhongli reassured them, his voice calm. "They are not dead. They are merely unconscious."

Nana, noticing their unease, stepped forward to comfort them.

"Look at their chests," she pointed at the fallen soldiers. "You can see them breathing. They're alive. Most of the injuries are superficial—it's nothing too serious."

Her words offered the group some comfort, and they rallied their courage to continue.

Two minutes later, they reached the heart of the park.

Here, the ground was smooth and flat, illuminated by a golden mist that radiated a soft glow, creating a serene yet otherworldly ambiance.

At the center of this glow stood a stone table, around which three figures sat, seemingly enjoying tea.

One was a silver-haired young man in a casual shirt, looking no older than the teenagers. The second was a towering, muscular man with a face reminiscent of exaggerated caricatures. The third was an elegantly dressed man in gray and gold, his features so impossibly perfect they bordered on divine, yet his aura exuded a calm gravity.

Upon closer inspection, the third figure's appearance was identical to Zhongli's.

This surreal scene left the superhumans in stunned silence.

In the blink of an eye, the Zhongli who had been leading them transformed into a golden stream of light and merged with the Zhongli seated at the table.

"It seems everyone is here," Zhongli said as he stood.

He extended a hand, and a middle-aged man in military uniform, unconscious, floated over to him.

"Commander Hegang!"

"Hegang?!"

Nana and a few others gasped in unison, their eyes wide with shock.

Unperturbed, Zhongli opened his hand, revealing a glowing, fiery red feather.

Holding the feather in one hand, Zhongli turned to the group and addressed them with calm authority.

"Superhumans, you must all be wondering…"

"Why does your nation, which publicly declares you to be the vanguard against the 'enemies of humanity,' secretly dispatch assassins like Nana to eliminate you?"

"Nana has likely explained much to you already, but there are surely aspects that remain difficult to comprehend."

"To be honest, I am no different. From what Nana has shared, it seems the policies of your world's leadership have reached levels of absurdity far beyond what an ordinary person could fathom."

"Even if their goal were to exterminate weaker superhumans like yourselves, there are far simpler and more efficient methods. There was no need to lure you to the island only to eliminate you one by one."

Zhongli paused and cast his gaze toward the distant sky, his golden eyes narrowing slightly.

"Ah… a small complication. But no matter. Let us continue while I resolve it."

[Wall of a Thousand Layers.]

With a low chant, Zhongli pressed his hands together, then swiftly separated them.

A massive stone pillar shot up from the ground, piercing the heavens. Earthy yellow light radiated from the monolith, enveloping the park and everyone within it in a protective barrier.

"Now, we may resume."

Zhongli brought the feather to the forehead of the unconscious Commander Hegang, holding it with practiced care.

"This feather is known as the [Feather of Warding Dust]. It is a tool for uncovering memories and excavating the depths of consciousness. I purchased it from the shop of an interdimensional chat group using a fair amount of points—it is particularly suitable for this occasion."

His explanation drew audible gasps from the group.

Nana's expression shifted to one of silent dread as realization dawned.

"This Commander Hegang," Zhongli continued, "is a direct subordinate of Nana's superiors. I suspect he knows much about the true motivations behind these actions."

"Thus, I must apologize in advance, Commander Hegang. I hope you can satisfy my curiosity about the truth of this world."

With those words, the feather began to glow, emitting a blazing red light that expanded to envelop everyone present.

In the distance, the roar of engines grew louder, and the air itself trembled.

High above, supersonic bombers cut through the clouds, their sleek forms barely visible.

Whoosh!

Boom!

Bombs fell.

A deafening explosion consumed everything, a massive fireball rising into the sky and forming a towering mushroom cloud.

Dust and ash blanketed the park, obscuring all within it.
