Chapter Sixty-Eight:

Deep into the Mountains

"Siara!" Haimon came running towards me as soon as he received my letter. "What important thing are we going to talk about?" he asked as soon as he came closer.

"Well, it is about my father."

"What is that?"

"He agreed to meet you." I straightly answered.

"That…well, I'm nervous but yes indeed. I'll meet him. If so, when?"

"That was great then, you'll meet him tonight."

"What! Why it is so sudden? As in tonight?"

"Yes… I supposed." I said with a doubt that he won't ready to face my father.

It took him a lot long before Haimon finally calm down a bit and seriously answered me. "Yes, I'll be there tonight."

"Oh!" hearing what he said really makes me happy and I couldn't stop myself not to hug him. "Thank you so much Haimon! Thank you!" I gladly said.

"No need to thank me. Because I will do everything for you no matter what it takes." He answered as he embraces me back and we stay embracing for as long as we want.

Night…

Manu Palace

I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness when I finally reached the very place where Siara lived. Even though I was ready to face Siara's father, I still couldn't help but feel scared the moment I met him. But I couldn't longer let my fear stop me, I have to face him while I still can and this is it. This is the right time.

"King Harkan, Duke Haimon from Edelweiss Clan was already here." The guard announced my coming once I entered the palace and with the anxiety that I feel I fully faces it forward.

"Let him in." King Harkan ordered and I could hear his full authority from his voice making me more nervous.

"Yes, my King." The guard answered before he opened the door slowly so I take a very deep breath once the door fully open and the guard let me in before it closes the door from behind.

I really don't know what to do, I just stand there waiting for King Harkan to speak and I could even see him sitting from his throne.

"Why don't you come closer to me?" he said.

I hesitated to walk forward but then I gathered all my courage and walk closer until I could see him nearby. "Your Highness." I said and bowed as a sign of respect.

"Duke Haimon Del Gazini."

"Yes, your Highness."

"I will not go beating around the bush and I will ask you directly. Do you really love my daughter?"

I was surprised from his direct question but I am so sure of what I should answer. "Yes, I love her so much I can give up my life for her." I sincerely answered while I straightly look into his eyes.

Silence and it took us long before he answered.

"You probably know where you are now, right?"

"Yes, I'm at the Manu Clan. And I know the danger that I am facing once they've learned I came here into your land. But because of the love that I have for your daughter is stronger I can face anything even if it puts my life on the line." I seriously stated.

"You are quite bold, young man." He said as he sighs. "It's just that you don't know how dangerous you have made entering here into my land, young man."

"And will you stop scaring him longer, my dear father?" suddenly Siara finally came out and save my day. "Hi Haimon! I'm glad you came. And father," she turned her gaze back to her father. "Please, just stop interrogating him let us just have a peaceful dinner tonight, will you?"

Harkan deeply sighs. "My child, I still need to talk to him alone."

"But I am starving and," she looks back at me. "You're starving too, right Love?"

"Oh!" her father reacts.

"But as what your father told, we still--"

"Stop it will you." She said as she cuts me off. "If you want to talk, you have to come with me because I'm the one involved here but before that happens, can we eat first, please." She pleaded and I cannot just ignore it.

"Fine," suddenly her father answered. "Let's eat first, Duke Haimon."

"Ahm, yes your Highness."

Afterwards…

After we ate dinner, Siara's father decided to continue our conversation at the pavilion and Siara was with us in our conversation.

"I'm really against your relationship…"

"Father!" Siara reacted.

"Let me finish first, Siara." He said before turning his gaze back at me. "But because of the sincerity I saw and felt in you, I finally agree into your relationship." He sincerely answered and I can feel it.

"Thank you, your Highness." I said and bowed my head.

"Don't thank me that easily. You will go through much more and the trials you will go through will not be trivial. It will put the both of you in much danger and if that happens, I can no longer stay quiet I will come to put an end to your relationship. And I am not doing it just because that is what I have to do to protect my place but it is all because I don't want to put Siara in danger. And I hope you understand it, Duke Haimon."

"I do. I clearly understand what you are saying." I answered. "I cannot promise you that she won't be in danger but one thing for sure, I will love her and protect her with all my life." I sincerely stated as I hold Siara's hand so tightly.

Manu Tower

"Are you really sure this will be fine?"

Brennan asked me after I finally met Haimon tonight.

I take a deep breath before I answered. "Yes, I can no longer stop them. After seeing them together, I clearly understand how much they love each other. As if I've been seeing Liraz and Neron once again and yet I cannot deny the fear that I feel, I'm scared."
