Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Preperation
A few hours had passed since the meeting at the beach. The sun had started to set, casting an orange glow over the city. Satoshi finally arrived home, his body heavy with exhaustion, yet a small victorious smile lingered on his face. As soon as he stepped inside, he kicked off his shoes, took of his coat, made his way to his bed, and flopped onto it with a sigh of relief.
Staring at the ceiling, he let his mind drift back to the events of the day. Registering his quirk, talking to Izuku and All Might, and most importantly, getting some training plans as not only did he get a specific training plan for his body, thae 2 also invited him to join on their last week of cleaning the beach—all of it had gone smoothly. He chuckled to himself, feeling a mix of pride and amusement at how easily things had played out in his favor.
He had subtly manipulated the situation, steering the conversation in just the right direction. By playing on the fact that he had only just received his quirk, he had managed to gain sympathy from both Izuku and All Might. They saw a piece of themselves in him—someone who had once been quirkless, struggling to catch up in a world dominated by powerful abilities. That connection was enough to make them want to help him, and he had no doubt that they would.
'It's funny when you think about it,' he mused. 'This body never thought that being quirkless can be an advantage—until it is. Now, that past is what's getting me the support I need to build a solid foundation.'
The best part was that neither Izuku nor All Might probably suspected anything. As far as they were concerned, he was just another late bloomer trying to overcome the hurdles of being behind everyone else. And for all intents and purposes, that was exactly the image he wanted them to have of him.
He turned onto his side, letting out a breath. 'Now that I have their support, the next step is actually improving. If I want my UA student persona to hold up, I need to make sure my body is strong enough to support my abilities. My Asura Path is powerful, but if my stamina and physical endurance are lacking, I won't be able to use it effectively.'
His mind shifted to All Might. 'That guy… even in his weakened state, he still holds insane power. The energy I sensed in him—it's ridiculous. No normal person should have that, but then again, he's not a normal person. He's THE Symbol of Peace. If I can learn from him, even indirectly, my growth will skyrocket.'
He smirked. 'Not to mention, getting close to Izuku is a valuable asset since the story of this world will revolve around him...'
He stretched his arms before rolling onto his stomach, burying his face in his pillow. The exhaustion from the day was finally catching up to him.
'All in all, today was a success. The pieces are in place. Now, I just need to execute.'
With that final thought, his breathing steadied, and before he knew it, he drifted off to sleep, already thinking of how to take the next step forward
As he drifted to sleep, he suddenly heard a knock on the door. His eyes snapped open as he groggily thought about who it could be. He wasn't expecting anyone. After a brief moment of consideration, he figured it was most likely Konan.
With a sigh, he got up from his bed and walked to the door. As expected, when he opened it, Konan stood outside, her usual calm and composed expression in place.
"Come in," Satoshi said, stepping aside.
Konan entered the room, her gaze briefly scanning the interior before settling on him. "I came to check on your progress with Akatsuki," she said, her tone neutral but laced with curiosity.
Satoshi couldn't help but smirk at that. "I've got a more concrete plan now," he replied confidently.
At this, Konan allowed a small smile to form on her lips. "Good. Do you need me to do anything?"
Hearing this, Satoshi's expression turned serious. He crossed his arms and looked directly at her. "Actually, yeah," he said. "I need to understand more about your quirk. Specifically, when you transform paper into paper bombs, does it consume your stamina then? Or does it consume your stamina when you detonate the bombs?"
Konan blinked at the sudden shift in conversation but nodded, understanding that he must have a reason for asking.
Konan crossed her arms and nodded. "I've tested my quirk and got the gist of how it works," she said. "My energy is consumed when I transform paper into paper bombs. However, when I detonate them, there's also a small stamina drain—nothing major, but it adds up."
Satoshi nodded, processing the information. "Makes sense," he muttered.
After a moment, he looked at Konan again. "Do you have a stockpile of paper bombs?"
Konan's eyes narrowed slightly before she smirked. She could already see where this was going. "You want me to take someone out?" she asked.
Satoshi nodded, but before he could explain, Konan raised an eyebrow. "Small-time villains," he clarified. "If possible, do it where someone can see you."
Hearing this, Konan's smirk faded, and she gave him a pointed look. "You realize I'd be giving away my identity if I did that, right?" she asked.
Satoshi shook his head. "You won't be giving away your identity," he said with confidence.
As he spoke, he sent a thought to his system. "Provide the Akatsuki cloak and mask."
A second later, a cloak and mask materialized in his hands out of thin air. The sudden appearance made Konan's eyes widen slightly as she stared at him with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. "What was that?" she asked, looking at the items.
In response, he merely shrugged, unfazed. "Doesn't matter," he said, handing them to her.
Konan took the cloak and mask, inspecting them. Before she could ask any more questions, Satoshi explained, "The cloak can take some damage, though it's not indestructible. Same goes for the mask." He pointed at the mask specifically. "It doesn't have eye holes, but you'll still be able to see through it. And no one, not even people with X-ray quirks, can see past it."
Konan hummed in approval, nodding. "And do you have any particular targets in mind?" she asked.
MC shook his head. "Not really. You can take down anyone you want, as long as you're sure you can escape without revealing your identity." He crossed his arms. "The main goal of this isn't just to eliminate villains—it's to make the world aware that a new group is out there hunting villains."
Konan absorbed his words, then lowered her gaze to the cloak in her hands. She ran her fingers over the fabric, realizing it was an exact replica of the Akatsuki cloak from her past life, complete with red clouds scattered across the dark fabric. Then, she turned her attention to the mask. True to MC's words, there were no eye holes, yet something about it felt… unnatural. At the front, an intricate design was engraved—a pair of angel wings, as if marking her as a messenger of judgment.
She smirked slightly. "I see... So this is what you're planning," she muttered.
...
Inside a well-lit office, a man sat at his desk, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the polished surface. His gaze remained locked onto the back of the chair positioned across from him. His voice carried a hint of annoyance as he spoke.
"Do I really need to babysit another round of students this year?"
For a moment, there was silence. Then, the chair across from him perked up slightly before it slowly rotated, revealing the small, stout creature sitting in it.
The being resembled a chimera, appearing as a mix of several animals—part dog, part mouse, part bear. His head was distinctly mouse-like, with circular black eyes and a noticeable scar running over his right one. His ears, rectangular in shape with pale pink insides, slanted outward, adding to his unusual appearance. An elongated muzzle with a small, round nose completed his distinct features. His body was covered in white fur, and his large, dog-like paws rested calmly on the armrests of the chair. A thin, cat-like tail curled slightly at the end.
Dressed in a white dress shirt with a dark red tie neatly tucked under a black double-breasted waistcoat, he exuded an air of professionalism.
The creature, Principal Nezu, regarded the man in front of him with a knowing smile. "Aizawa-kun, you should really tone down your expulsions," he said in a lighthearted yet firm tone.
Aizawa groaned, rubbing his temples as he leaned back in his chair. "Principal Nezu, you know as well as I do that the hero course isn't for just anyone. If they can't handle the pressure, then they shouldn't be here in the first place." He was about to continue when a sudden knock interrupted him.
Both Nezu and Aizawa turned their attention toward the door. The small principal tilted his head slightly before speaking.
"The door is open," Nezu said cheerfully.
The door creaked open, revealing a tall yet unnaturally skinny man standing in the doorway. His golden hair, though still shaped in its signature tufts, looked slightly unkempt. His sharp features, deep-set eyes, and sunken cheeks made him look almost frail compared to the towering figure most people associated with him.
It was All Might.
Nezu's ears twitched as he greeted All Might with his usual cheerful tone. "Oh my, I wasn't expecting a visit from you, All Might! What brings you here?"
All Might, still standing in the doorway, rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. His eyes flickered toward Aizawa before he spoke. "Ah, well… if you're in the middle of something, I can wait. Please, finish your discussion first."
Aizawa let out a long, tired groan before waving a lazy hand. "Tch. We can pause this for now." he muttered under his breath.
Hearing this, All Might sighed in relief before stepping further into the office. "Thank you, Aizawa. My situation won't take long." He straightened up slightly, his tone turning more serious. "Principal Nezu, would it be possible for me to take a look at this year's UA applicants right now?"
Nezu's eyes gleamed with curiosity as he tilted his head. "Yes, of course! But I must ask… why the sudden interest?"
All Might hesitated for a moment before replying vaguely, "I just want to learn more about a certain applicant."
Nezu nodded, his interest piqued, but he didn't press further. "Very well. Give me a moment." With that, he hopped off his chair, retrieved a laptop from a nearby desk, and quickly settled back in his seat.
As soon as Nezu opened the laptop, his hands moved at an almost inhuman speed. His fingers blurred into afterimages as they danced across the keyboard, pulling up the necessary files with unnerving efficiency.
All Might couldn't help but sweatdrop at the sight, while Aizawa sighed heavily and pulled out his sleeping mask. Without another word, the tired teacher leaned back in his chair and covered his eyes, prepared to rest while Nezu worked.
Seconds later, Nezu, still tapping away at his laptop, looked up at All Might with a curious expression. "So, what's the name of the applicant you were referring to?"
All Might straightened up, his usual confident demeanor returning, though there was a subtle hint of curiosity in his voice. "Satoshi Yamamoto."
Nezu's fingers danced across the keyboard for a few moments, his sharp eyes scanning the screen as he typed. After a brief pause, he nodded, a small smile forming on his face. "Ah, I found him." He leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving the screen. "Interesting."
The name seemed to carry more weight for All Might than he let on. His mind whirled for a moment. "So, he really did apply to UA…" he thought.
Before All Might could delve deeper into his thoughts, Nezu spoke up, his tone light but laced with the usual curiosity he reserved for discussions like these. "So, what exactly would you like to know about Satoshi Yamamoto?"
All Might paused, eyes narrowing slightly as he considered the question. He hadn't anticipated feeling quite so… invested. After a beat, he sighed and leaned forward. "I want to know about his information—his quirk, his situation, anything that might give us insight into who he really is."
Nezu nodded, his expression shifting into one of complete focus. Without another word, he resumed typing, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he pulled up the relevant data. A few clicks later, he turned his screen to face All Might.
"According to his application," Nezu began, his voice calm and measured, "Satoshi Yamamoto applied to the General Course. A few things stand out—he's an orphan, his previous academic performances were average, and most notably, his quirk… or so it seems."
All Might, who had been listening intently, furrowed his brows at the mention of the quirk. "Seems? What do you mean by that?"
Nezu glanced at him, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Well, the application lists him as quirkless. However, there's a small discrepancy." He paused, typing a few more lines into his laptop. "According to government records, Satoshi is actually a late bloomer and just registered his quirk today."
All Might's eyebrows shot up "Late bloomer? And what quirk did he register?". Meanwhile in his mind he thought about the deep purple eyes he saw earlier.
Nezu clicked a few more keys, his fingers moving faster than before. He tapped his mouse and scrolled through more documents, then turned the screen to show the quirk information.
"His quirk is called 'Mecha Body,'" Nezu explained, his eyes glinting with intrigue. "It appears that he can augment his body with mechanical enhancements, much like a living, breathing machine. It's a rather unique quirk, and from the looks of it, it could have some significant potential—if honed properly."
All Might simply said, "I see."
Nezu, sensing the change in All Might's demeanor, tilted his head slightly and asked, "Why the sudden interest in learning more about Satoshi Yamamoto?"
