In the blink of an eye, more than a month had passed.

George stood in the living room, wand in hand, focusing his mental energy. He recalled every joyful moment of his past and present lives—his main body and his clone—and all the happiness he had experienced.

Then, he slowly chanted the spell:

"Expecto Patronum!"

As the incantation ended, a faint white light began to emit from the tip of his wand. Gradually, the light grew brighter and coalesced into a silvery, semi-transparent creature.

"A panda? Could it be because one of my clones is a panda?"

George's face showed a hint of surprise upon seeing that his Patronus had taken the form of a panda.

Across from him, Amy, wearing only her nightclothes and holding a bottle of wine, jumped up from the sofa in excitement.

"George, well done! You actually summoned a corporeal Patronus!

It seems I truly have a knack for teaching. Maybe in a few days, I'll send my resume to Dumbledore and apply for a teaching position at the school!"

In just over a month, George had not only mastered Apparition with impressive proficiency but also learned the Patronus Charm under Amy's guidance. This boosted her confidence in her teaching abilities immensely.

She was convinced that her previous students' poor performance was because they were too dim-witted. With a student as brilliant as George, her exceptional teaching skills were finally shining through.

"This year? I don't think there's any chance. But next year, you might have a shot," George said as he maneuvered the Patronus to fly around the room.

This year's Defense Against the Dark Arts professor was Lupin, and Dumbledore had likely already made his decision. Even if Amy sent in her resume now, her chances of being hired were slim.

As for next year, the position would supposedly go to Mad-Eye Moody, though, in truth, it would be Barty Crouch Jr. impersonating Moody as part of a plan to help Harry win the Triwizard Tournament and resurrect Voldemort.

Would George allow Voldemort to come back?

Of course not!

At the very least, he wouldn't let Voldemort be resurrected as smoothly as in the original storyline.

Voldemort's return offered no benefits to him. He preferred the Wizarding World to remain peaceful, giving him more time to study magic.

So, he wouldn't let Pettigrew escape like in the original events.

If Pettigrew were caught and sent to Azkaban, he wouldn't be able to find Voldemort's soul fragment. That would prevent Voldemort from using Pettigrew to rescue Barty Crouch Jr., and there would be no impersonation of Moody.

If Moody didn't apply to teach at Hogwarts, the school would lack a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. With her experience as an Auror and as a quick-learning magic tutor, Amy would stand a good chance of being hired.

"An owl, George. Looks like another letter for you—you're quite popular at school!"

Amy, having flopped back onto the sofa and tossed her empty bottle onto the floor, noticed an owl flying toward the window and reminded George.

Scenes like this had played out more than thirty times in the past month.

It was clear that George had built strong relationships with his classmates at Hogwarts; otherwise, he wouldn't be receiving so many letters.

"Not too bad," George replied, turning his head toward the window just in time to see an owl carrying a package crash into the glass. It slid down the pane in a comical heap.

"Errol? The Weasleys' owl?"

Only Errol, the Weasleys' aging family owl, could be clumsy enough to fly straight into a window.

George waved his wand, levitating Errol inside. He gave the poor owl some water and food, then picked up the package and opened it. Inside was a letter and a beautifully crafted box.

The letter was from Ginny. In it, she explained that Arthur Weasley had won the Daily Prophet's Grand Prize Galleon Draw, and the family had gone on a trip to Egypt. To thank George for the bookmark he had gifted her earlier, she had bought some unique magical books from Egypt and sent them to him.

The letter also included a moving photograph. In the picture, all nine Weasleys were standing in front of a massive pyramid, waving vigorously.

Molly Weasley, short and plump, stood next to Arthur Weasley, tall and balding. Their six sons and one daughter, all with fiery red hair, were grinning broadly. Ron stood in the center, his pet rat, Scabbers, perched on his shoulder, with one arm draped around his sister Ginny.

George put the photograph and the letter away, then opened the ornate box. Inside were three ancient-looking magical books, unlike anything he had seen in the Hogwarts library or in any bookstore.

The Mysteries of the Soul, The Art of Creating Ghouls, and The Theban Book of the Dead—three rare and fascinating tomes lay before him.

Satisfied, George carefully stowed away the three magical books and quickly wrote a reply. He placed the letter, along with a few magical trinkets he had bought from Diagon Alley, into a package and handed it over to Errol.

Come to think of it, that bookmark he had gifted Ginny—he had retrieved it when he "borrowed" her diary.

"Oh, sending gifts this time? Don't tell me it's for your little girlfriend?"

Seeing that George had included a gift along with the letter, Amy couldn't help teasing him. Previously, George had only sent replies and nothing extra.

"I'm only a second-year student—what are you thinking?"

Rolling his eyes, George released Errol out the window.

Amy, lounging with her legs crossed, chuckled mischievously. "So what? I had a girlfriend in my second year."

"You sure it was a girlfriend?"

George raised an eyebrow, a sly smile tugging at his lips.

Amy paused, realizing her slip, and quickly changed the subject.

"I meant female friends. Kids shouldn't get into relationships too early—it's bad for their studies.

By the way, didn't you ask me about the Disillusionment Charm last time? Let me teach you the key points."

"Hey, Amy, good news! We've found Old One-Eye!"

At that moment, Lina burst through the door in a rush.

Amy sprang off the sofa, her expression instantly serious.

"You mean Old One-Eye?"

"Yes! We've been tracking a case involving the smuggling of ancient magical contraband, and we finally uncovered the mastermind behind it—it's the dark wizard Old One-Eye, who vanished five years ago.

According to intel from the department head, Old One-Eye will be conducting a trade for magical contraband tonight in Diagon Alley.

If we catch him, you can finally clear your name!"

Lina clasped Amy's hands, her voice trembling with excitement.

Hearing this, George couldn't help but take notice. During the time they had spent together, he hadn't deliberately pried, but from their casual conversations, he had learned the truth about why Amy was dismissed from the Ministry of Magic.

Amy had once been one of the most powerful Aurors in the British Ministry of Magic.

During a mission to capture Old One-Eye—a dark wizard involved in smuggling Muggles to perform black magic experiments—something had gone terribly wrong. Fifty Muggles died on the spot, and Amy was blamed.

It wasn't her fault; the problem was that Old One-Eye had disarmed her during their magical duel and used her wand to cast the spell that caused the explosion.

But back then, Cornelius Fudge needed a scapegoat to take the fall, and Amy became the unfortunate candidate. She was immediately dismissed.

Ever since then, Amy had fallen into a downward spiral, spending her days in a haze of alcohol and despair.
