Marvel : Strongest Siblings

Chapter 91: Marvel 91

Max leaned against the doorway of the jet, smirking. "Well, that was entertaining. But next time, maybe let me handle it—I prefer fights where the odds are even."

"Wizard, we meet again," Thor said, his voice booming as he extended his hand toward Max.

Max nodded back with a small smirk. "How are you?" he asked as he shook Thor's hand firmly.

"I am fine," Thor replied warmly.

Tony, observing the exchange, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Wait, you know him?"

Max nodded casually. "Yeah, the last time he came to Earth, I gave him a god-sized beating," he said, his tone nonchalant.

Thor chuckled, albeit a bit awkwardly. "Well, at that time, I was... a bit of a brat," he admitted, scratching the back of his head.

Tony's curiosity grew. "So, what? You were like 16 back then?" he asked, looking Thor up and down skeptically.

Thor shook his head quickly. "No, I meant... in temperament, not age," he clarified, his voice carrying a hint of embarrassment. "I was, um... banished back then. Stripped of my powers."

"Hmm, why?" Tony asked as they walked into the jet.

"Well," Thor began, "I tried to invade another world, only to lose. Then my father had to come and save me."

Tony nodded slowly, thinking to himself, What a crazy guy, as they all entered the jet.

Soon, they returned to the Helicarrier, where the other agents took Loki and imprisoned him in a large, heavily reinforced cage. Max looked at the cage skeptically, tilting his head. "I really wonder, why is this even here in the first place?" he asked aloud.

Tony nodded in agreement, inspecting the setup. "It's like they made it specifically for one person," he said, his tone filled with curiosity.

Captain frowned at the comment, but Black Widow simply ignored them, her expression neutral.

"You can all go and rest for now," Fury said as he dismissed them, walking off to handle other matters.

Tony smirked as Fury left. "Time to find out what they're hiding," he said, already heading toward the control room with a mischievous grin.

"What's that?" Captain asked, narrowing his eyes.

Tony shrugged nonchalantly. "I'm spying on secrets," he replied cheekily, clearly unbothered.

"This is wrong," Cap said, crossing his arms and shaking his head in disapproval.

"Is it?" Tony countered as he pressed a few keys, pulling up hidden files on the screen. The contents were heavily encrypted and locked. "What are these hidden and locked files then?" he challenged, his tone sharp. "They asked for our help, yet they're not sharing anything with us. I don't like working blind, especially with people I don't trust."

Cap frowned deeply. "Enough," he said firmly. "SHIELD is keeping the world safe by safeguarding secrets that are dangerous in the wrong hands. You know that."

"Keeping secrets from random people? Sure," Tony shot back, his voice rising slightly. "But not us."

"Why, you—" Cap started, his frustration evident, when a sudden knock interrupted their brewing argument.

Knock. Knock.

Hearing the sound, they all turned toward the door, which opened to reveal a middle-aged man standing there with an amused smile. "Did I come at a bad time?" he asked lightly, stepping into the room.

"And you are?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow.

Max glanced at the man, recognizing him immediately. "He's Bruce Banner, with a... split personality. The Hulk," Max said casually.

Tony nodded slowly, smirking. "Ah, the guy who might lose it and turn into a giant rage monster at any moment."

Natasha glared at Tony. "You didn't have to say it like that," she muttered.

"It's fine," Bruce said, exhaling calmly. "I've learned to keep it under control," he added with a nod, though his tone betrayed a trace of tension.

"So, what brings you here?" Tony asked, leaning back slightly as he folded his arms.

Bruce glanced around. "Fury thought my expertise might be needed, so here I am. What's going on?"

Cap shook his head in frustration, silently leaving the room. He had intended to head to his quarters but, on his way out, changed his path, deciding to investigate something else instead.

"Nothing," Max said with a calm tone, but his eyes betrayed his sharpness. "We were just wondering what SHIELD is hiding from us."

Black Widow stepped forward, her arms crossed. "We're not hiding anything," she said flatly, her tone dismissive.

Max's gaze flicked to her, unimpressed. "You know," he started, "I understand why we're in this situation. So maybe save your manipulation tactics for our prisoner, not us."

Black Widow's expression hardened. "You think you're powerful, don't you?" she said coldly. "But you're nothing more than a child with dangerous powers."

Max sighed deeply, clearly unimpressed. Without another word, he moved faster than the eye could follow, pinning her against the wall with a resounding thud. The suddenness of the action left the room in stunned silence.

"You people begged me to come here," Max said, his voice steady but with an unmistakable edge of authority. "Not the other way around. So maybe think twice before showing attitude to me."

Black Widow struggled for breath, her composure faltering for a brief moment as Max's grip held firm. After a tense few seconds, he released her, letting her drop to the floor where she gasped for air, regaining her breath.

The room remained quiet, the tension thick in the air. No one moved to intervene, the display leaving an unspoken understanding: Max wasn't someone to take lightly.

"That was something" Tony said, as many agents pointed their guns at Max.

"Stop!" Fury's commanding voice cut through the tension as he entered the room, his sharp gaze fixed on Max. "You agreed to help us," he said, his tone firm but controlled.

Max leaned back in his seat, his expression unbothered. "I wasn't the one who showed attitude first," he replied with a casual shrug, as though the earlier confrontation was a minor inconvenience.

Fury shifted his gaze to Black Widow, who was still catching her breath, leaning against the wall. She shook her head slightly, signaling that she was fine.
