Marvel Brodcast : Spoiling Spider-man

Chapter 38: Chapter 38 Mary Jane is captured

[Mary Jane sat at the dining table, flipping through a stack of invitations. Nearby, John Jameson reclined on the sofa, glancing over at her. "Honey, are you really not going to invite your photographer friend? Peter Parker?" he asked casually.]

[Mary Jane looked up at him with a faint smile before returning her attention to the invitations. "Not invited," she said firmly.]

[John furrowed his brow, puzzled. "I thought he was your good friend," he continued. "Peter Parker?" "Yeah," Mary Jane replied with a sigh, her voice heavy with emotion. "He's a big jerk."]

["There are so many jerks in this world," John said with a light chuckle.]

[Mary Jane found his comment endearing. She looked at John affectionately as he reached out to take her hand, planting a tender kiss on it. "Of course," he added with a charming smile.]

[Mary Jane tilted her head slightly, her smile deepening. Suddenly, a playful idea crossed her mind. "Can you tilt your head back?" she asked.]

["Tilt my head back?" John echoed, confused.]

["Yes, just do as I say," she insisted.]

[John complied, leaning his head back. Mary Jane adjusted the pillow behind him and leaned over to kiss him. As their lips met, John felt a rush of warmth, as though he were floating on air. But as the kiss lingered, Mary Jane's expression grew more contemplative. Her mind seemed far away, lost in a memory she couldn't shake.]

[John, oblivious to her internal conflict, sighed contentedly. "I feel like I'm back on the moon," he said, smiling dreamily. But Mary Jane's distant gaze remained, her thoughts clouded by something only she understood.]

"Oh, I understand. She is reminiscing about the upside-down kiss she had with Peter, oh no, it should be said that she had Spider-Man!" As a playboy, Tony instantly understood what Mary Jane was thinking.

"It seems that having sex with many women does have its benefits, huh?"

"Of course, I know exactly what those girls are thinking!" Tony said narcissistically, and then he realized that the voice was not from Rhodes. He turned around and saw that it was Pepper who had come back at some point and was looking at him with a smile on her face.

That ordinary smile seemed like the devil to Tony, so he quickly stood up and explained to Pepper, while constantly hinting with his eyes that Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, his unethical friend, who did not give him any warning.

Pepper ignored Tony who was in a hurry and sat down on the seat. Seeing that the situation was not good, Rhodes quickly slipped away, leaving Tony looking at Pepper pitifully.

[Meanwhile, Mary Jane sat alone in a bustling coffee shop, stirring her drink absentmindedly. Peter approached from behind, his voice soft as he said, "Hi." Mary Jane turned, surprised. "Peter!"]

["Is this unexpected?" Peter asked, offering a small smile.]

["What a shock," Mary Jane replied, her tone half-joking but tinged with genuine surprise. "Thank you for coming."]

[Peter studied her face, sensing her unease. "Is everything okay?" he asked.]

[Mary Jane hesitated, her thoughts tangling as she searched for the right words. "You could say that. But honestly, it's ridiculous. I don't know how to explain it. You know how people sometimes deceive themselves?"]

[Peter nodded slowly. "Tell me about it."]

["I'm the perfect example," she said with a bitter laugh. "That night after the performance, when you said you changed for me... I just couldn't believe it. I was too afraid to trust you."]

[Peter lowered his gaze, guilt flickering in his eyes. "Listen," he began, his voice heavy. "I need to tell you something. What I said that night... I didn't think it through."]

[Mary Jane tilted her head, her expression shifting. "Wait," she interrupted. "What are you trying to say?"]

[Peter swallowed hard, his voice faltering. "I thought I could be with you, Mary Jane... but I can't. I was fooling myself."]

[Mary Jane's face fell, her emotions teetering on the edge. "Do you love me or not?" she demanded.]

[Peter looked away, fighting the pain in his chest. Finally, he whispered, "I... don't love you."]

[Her breath hitched, and she stared at him, trembling. "You don't love me?" she echoed, her voice cracking. Then, with sudden resolve, she leaned closer. "Kiss me."]

[Peter blinked in confusion. "Kiss you?" he repeated.]

["I want to be sure," she said, her tone urgent. "Just one kiss."]

[Before Peter could react, she took his hand and leaned in. Their faces were inches apart when Peter's Spider-Sense flared to life. His eyes widened as he turned to see a black car speeding toward them.]

[Grabbing Mary Jane, he dove out of the way, narrowly avoiding the collision. Mary Jane screamed as they tumbled to safety, the car smashing into the café's front window.]

[The ground shook as metallic thuds echoed through the street. Mary Jane clutched Peter's arm, her voice trembling. "What's going on?"]

[Peter's jaw tightened as several mechanical arms slammed into the pavement. Dr. Otto Octavius emerged from the shadows, a sinister smile on his face. "Peter Parker," he said mockingly. "And his girlfriend."]

["What do you want, Otto?" Peter asked, his voice steely.]

[One of Otto's tentacles shot forward, grabbing Peter by the neck and hoisting him into the air. "I want you to find Spider-Man," Otto hissed. "Tell him to meet me at the West Side Clock Tower at three o'clock."]

["I don't know where he is!" Peter choked out.]

[Otto's glasses were removed by another tentacle, revealing his piercing gaze. "Find him," Otto growled. "Or I'll kill her." His other arms extended menacingly toward Mary Jane.]

[Peter struggled against the tentacle's grip, his voice fierce. "If you touch her—"]

["What will you do?" Otto interrupted, smirking. With a powerful swing, he hurled Peter into a wall, leaving him crumpled in the rubble. Mary Jane screamed as Otto seized her with his mechanical arms and disappeared into the distance.]

[Peter groaned, pulling himself from the wreckage. As he stumbled to the street, he ripped off his glasses, blinking in surprise. His vision was clear. His strength had returned. His powers were back.]

[Determined, Peter clenched his fists. With Spider-Man's abilities restored, he knew he had only one choice. Mary Jane needed him, and he would not fail her.]

"Mary Jane is going too far. She already has a fiancee, yet she still wants to flirt with Peter." Uncle Ben frowned, and his impression of Mary Jane became even worse.

"Peter Parker lost his superpowers because of her, and also regained his superpowers because of her. This is a man. He must protect the most important person in his life!" Tony sighed.

"In fact, without Spider-Man, the crime rate there soared by 75%, which is enough to show his importance. Fortunately, he is back." Pepper also said.

[The narration suddenly sounded: "In order to protect the important people, sometimes sacrifices are necessary. Didn't Natasha know that she would die? But she still pushed Barton down without hesitation and jumped off the cliff, exchanging her soul for a soul! Just for the last glimmer of hope!"]

["Didn't Tony Stark know that he would die? He knew better than anyone that even Banner in the body of the Hulk still couldn't withstand the huge energy. He scream in pain as he try to use the gauntlet."]

["Banner suffered great harm and wanted to bring everyone back, but he failed to bring back his beloved Natasha. She really can't come back."]

["There was only a one in fourteen million chance. When Strange said that, Tony knew that this was the only hope, so he did not hesitate to take his own life in exchange for victory in the war, and thereby save all lives in the universe."]

["Tony Stark finally stood shoulder to shoulder with gods with his mortal body! And at the last moment of his life, he is Iron Man!"]
