Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Walking In Boldly

On the Quinjet, a team of special forces soldiers was fully geared and ready for action. Among the familiar faces, aside from Captain America, Natasha Romanoff was also present.

"Just stick with us when we move in. Don't startle the enemies; we can't risk them harming the hostages," Natasha advised Han Yu.

"I think you all don't even need to come. Rogers and I alone would be enough," Han Yu said with a calm smile. If it weren't necessary to prove that Hydra had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and expose their mole, Jasper, Han Yu could have handled everyone on the ship himself. But if he acted alone, it might raise suspicion.

Stark wouldn't have joined the mission, and having Fury personally accompany them would draw too much attention. Taking Captain America along—someone who never lies—was the perfect choice.

"Are you kidding me? Look at those skinny arms and legs. You'd be done for in no time," one of the soldiers sneered. The man, Brock Rumlow, was the team leader of this special ops unit.

Han Yu looked at Rumlow with a faint smile. This man was another Hydra mole—his identity hadn't been exposed yet, but once the Hydra issue was resolved, Han Yu had no intention of letting him stick around.

Han Yu still vividly remembered that in the original storyline, it was Rumlow who tried to seize a certain serum. In a showdown with Captain America, he detonated the explosives strapped to himself, forcing Wanda to fling him into the air.

That act inadvertently caused an explosion that killed several Wakandans, marking the beginning of the Avengers' eventual split.

"Care to spar?" Han Yu replied coolly, his tone dripping with mockery.

Rumlow glared at Han Yu, his face full of provocation. If they weren't currently on a mission, he would've already leapt at Han Yu to teach him a lesson.

It was a good thing he didn't. Otherwise, there would've been one less body standing, as Han Yu wouldn't have hesitated to reveal his Hydra identity. After all, the mission could proceed just fine without Rumlow or his team.

Natasha glanced at Captain America with a puzzled expression. She found it odd that he didn't intervene to defuse the tension—something he typically wouldn't allow within his team.

Captain America remained silent, his mood suddenly sinking. Han Yu wasn't one to stir up unnecessary trouble, so if he was acting this way, it had to be for a reason.

Recalling what Han Yu had mentioned earlier about Hydra's infiltration, Captain America quickly connected the dots. "Could Rumlow also be a Hydra operative? If someone of his rank is a Hydra mole, then S.H.I.E.L.D. really is on the brink of collapse."

The realization weighed heavily on him. Rumlow's team was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s elite units, often tasked with high-priority operations. Now, it seemed likely their efforts were furthering Hydra's agenda instead.

"Steve, are you alright? You don't look so good," Natasha asked, noticing his uneasy expression. She assumed it was due to physical discomfort or equipment issues, not suspecting anything deeper. Her voice wasn't particularly hushed, so it drew the attention of the others.

With so many eyes on him, Captain America couldn't possibly reveal Hydra's infiltration. He sighed deeply and said, "It's nothing. Let's just focus on the mission."

He stepped forward, opening the hatch door of the jet. Standing there alone, his silhouette appeared unusually solitary.

"Let's go together."

Suddenly, a slender hand rested on his shoulder. Turning to look, Captain America saw Han Yu smiling at him.

"If you jump, I'll jump," Han Yu said with a grin.

The two exchanged a smile before leaping down together. For some reason, Natasha suddenly felt as though she had just been shown up by these two men.

Only then did someone realize and ask, "Did they bring parachutes?"

"Doesn't look like it. That guy didn't seem to have one either!"

In mid-air, Han Yu and Captain America descended. Under the control of green energy from the Lantern Ring, Han Yu landed lightly on the ship, while Captain America plunged into the water below.

"Let's wrap this up quickly," Han Yu muttered.

Clenching his right hand, Hyōrinmaru materialized in his grasp. He ran a finger along the blade, murmuring, "Old friend, it's been a while. Let's get you some action today."

As soon as he finished speaking, Han Yu's figure disappeared. A faint white mist moved swiftly across the ship's deck, and every person it passed fell silently to the ground, a pale slash across their necks marking their demise.

When Captain America climbed aboard, he was greeted by a deck littered with lifeless bodies. Han Yu sat off to the side, using a torn piece of cloth to wipe his blade. The sword gleamed flawlessly, without a trace of blood, leaving one to wonder what he was cleaning.

"That was fast. I didn't even get a chance to test out my new shield," Captain America said with a hint of regret. He'd been eager to try out his upgraded gear, but by the time he hauled himself out of the water, Han Yu had already taken care of every enemy on the deck.

"Leave the ones inside for me. Don't try to steal my thunder!"

Captain America dashed toward the ship's interior, looking for all the world like a student rushing to lunch after class.

Han Yu chuckled, sheathing Hyōrinmaru behind him before following after.

Inside the ship, Captain America's combat speed was noticeably faster than usual. When someone attacked him, he blocked with his shield, reflecting 40% of the damage back at them. While the returned damage from mere punches and kicks wasn't significant, it was enough to make his attackers hesitate.

And that hesitation marked their downfall.

Han Yu and Captain America walked leisurely through the corridors, dispatching foes with ease. Turning to see the satisfaction on Captain America's face, Han Yu asked, "So, how's it feel?"

"Fantastic! It's amazing!" Captain America replied, exhilarated. This new "Thor-style" fighting method was incredibly satisfying. He finally understood why Thor was so attached to his hammer.

The ability to throw and retrieve a weapon at will? Simply unbeatable.

The pair fought their way through the ship until they reached the kitchen, where the hostages were being held. Captain America came to a halt, lowering his voice. "I can't handle this one. We need to wait for… Rumlow and his team."

Though Captain America knew Rumlow was a Hydra mole, he couldn't risk the lives of the hostages in the kitchen. Aside from Jasper, the rest of the people were innocent, and he wouldn't gamble with their safety.

"What's the big deal? Let's just go in," Han Yu said, kicking the door open with a bold stride. He entered with a cheerful wave, calling out, "Good evening, everyone!"

The terrorists inside the kitchen instantly panicked, pointing their rifles at Han Yu. Their fingers hovered over the triggers, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't fire. Looking down, they realized their fingers and the triggers were encased in ice.

"What's going on? I can't fire!"

"My fingers are frozen!"

"Mine too!"
