Lord of The Mysterious World

Chapter 3: The mysterious Angel

Jon Carter and Victor Hugo continued their journey through the icy mountains. The cold wind howled through the valleys, and despite the midday fog, the freezing air was enough to make their bodies shiver.

After traveling for two days and nights, Jon estimated that their remaining food would last only until tomorrow evening. For the past few days, neither of them had heard the chirping of birds nor the growls of any animals. The silence of the snow-covered wilderness was unsettling.

Victor turned to Jon and said, "We should climb this peak to get a better view of our surroundings. If we don't, we might get lost in these frozen valleys."

Jon nodded and replied, "We also need to find a way out quickly. Our food supply will run out by tomorrow, and if we don't make it to a warmer area soon, survival will become even harder."

Determined, they began climbing a towering, snow-covered mountain. As the sun slowly dipped below the horizon, they finally reached the summit. From there, an endless sea of white peaks stretched as far as the eye could see.

After taking a brief rest, they started moving northward. Under the moonlight, the snow shimmered like crystals, casting an eerie glow on their path. Step by step, they ventured deeper into the silent, frozen wilderness, unaware of what lay ahead.

Under the Moonlit Sky, the Journey Continued.

Jon Carter and Victor Hugo knew they had no time to stop. Despite the biting cold, they pushed forward with determination. Their fast pace made them sweat, but the icy wind quickly turned the moisture into frozen droplets.

After walking non-stop through the night, the first light of dawn began to spread across the horizon. The sun's golden rays illuminated the snow-covered peaks, casting long shadows. Suddenly, faint sounds reached their ears—distant, unclear noises that seemed to be getting closer.

Panting from exhaustion, Victor said, "I can't walk anymore... My legs feel numb."

Jon replied firmly, "We have to keep moving, Victor. Once we cross these peaks, we might finally see something. Our destination can't be too far now."

Victor protested, "We should rest for a while before going any further. I'm not in a state to continue right now."

Jon hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Alright, sit down. I'll start a fire."

Jon opened his bag and pulled out some dry wood. He skillfully arranged the logs and lit them. Sparks flickered, and soon a small fire crackled in the icy silence, bringing much-needed warmth.

Watching in surprise, Victor asked, "When did you collect this firewood?"

Jon smiled slightly and replied, "When our food and water started running low, I gathered some dry wood in the empty space of my bag. I had a feeling we might need it."

Victor let out a small chuckle as they sat closer to the fire, warming their stiff hands. Slowly, the heat returned to their bodies.

After a while, Jon divided the remaining food into equal portions, and they quietly began eating.

But as they ate, the distant noises grew louder and clearer. It was no longer just a faint murmur—something, or someone, was approaching them.

Jon and Victor exchanged wary glances, their senses now fully alert. The icy wind carried an eerie tension, as if something unknown was lurking nearby…

The howling wind carried an eerie sound, growing louder with every passing second. The once-still snow-covered valley trembled as if an enormous force was approaching. The ground beneath Jon and Victor's feet began to vibrate, sending small avalanches tumbling down the slopes around them.

Sensing danger, both of them instinctively reached for the swords Dipendra had gifted them. Their grips tightened around the hilts as they scanned their surroundings.

Jon, his breath visible in the cold air, muttered, "What the hell is happening? It feels like an earthquake!"

Victor, equally tense, glanced around cautiously and whispered, "Or maybe... something huge is coming our way."

A chill ran down their spines. The thought of encountering a monster in these frozen wastelands was terrifying. Their eyes remained fixed in the direction of the noise, scanning the vast expanse of white.

Suddenly, through the misty air, they saw something—a figure, moving unnaturally fast, hurtling toward them from above.

Before they could react, the unknown entity crashed into the snow just 15 meters ahead of them, sending a cloud of white powder into the air. The impact echoed through the valley like a thunderclap.

As the snow settled, the figure lying on the frozen ground became visible. Jon and Victor exchanged uncertain glances before cautiously approaching.

When they got close enough, they realized—it was a young woman.

The girl was incredibly beautiful, but the deep wounds on her body indicated that she had endured a fierce battle. The moment she fell, she lost consciousness and lay motionless on the snow. Her breathing was slow, and her clothes were torn in several places. The most astonishing thing was that despite falling from such a great height, her bones remained unbroken, as if her body was protected by some mysterious force. Cold winds swirled around her.

She had long, flowing hair, delicate features, and an almost ethereal beauty. Draped in royal-like attire, she appeared otherworldly. But the most striking feature was what extended from her back— two large, pristine white wings.

Jon's eyes widened in astonishment. "An... Angel?" he whispered, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Victor turned to him, frowning in confusion. "Wait... You know her?"

Jon shook his head. "No, not her. But I know what she is."

Victor, still puzzled, pressed further. "What do you mean?"

Jon took a deep breath, his fingers running through his hair as he tried to gather his thoughts. "She's one of the Ten Divine Beings... A celestial race known as Angels. They look like humans, but their existence is beyond us."

Victor swallowed hard, staring at the unconscious girl before them. "So... she's not human?"

Jon nodded slowly. "Not exactly. But if an Angel has fallen from the sky... it means something is terribly wrong."

A heavy silence fell between them. The presence of this mysterious being raised countless questions.

Who was she?

Why had she fallen here?

And more importantly—

What had caused her descent?
