Long Live The King

Chapter 8: 08

Something unusual was happening in Winterfell, and the lords only needed to see Harry Stark to understand that something was not pleasing to him, and it all had to do with the ravens that flew over Winterfell, anyone would think that some birds did not have to bother anyone, they were just birds. But the number of them was large, a hundred or fifty at least were flying in circles over Winterfell, as if they were a flock of vultures waiting for their victim to die so they could eat it. The lords of the North knew perfectly well that Harry was blessed by the ancient Gods granting him magical abilities, with their help he found the library of Winterfell and all its secrets. That was why ravens were not very used in the North, they began to use other animals, which were much faster and more efficient, at night the owls, and by day the eagles and falcons that were fast in their delivery. Only when it came to the South were ravens used, since the North did not want them to try to train other animals to make it easier to deliver information. Harry was not going to allow that, how could he not allow the person responsible for this to get away with it?

Harry went straight to the Godswood of Winterfell, he had something to attend to personally, something that the lords present understood, they had to do everything possible so that the guests would not notice Harry's absence. Harry knew more than anything why the ravens acted that way, apparently, the three-eyed raven noticed his presence, after 25 years; and all because he did not allow his little cousin to start climbing the tower where he had found Cersei and Jaime having sex. When he got to the point, he could feel the presence of a person, it was not powerful but it was cautious because it was hiding. Apparently, he did not expect his presence in this place, he expected someone else, then he felt like something wanted to enter his mind, but failed. His mental barriers were impenetrable, and entering his mind was useless, although in this world there were no wizards yet, he had to deal with a person who could see the past, and modify the present so that the future became what he wanted. That was the power of the three-eyed raven, one that he was going to eliminate because the human who thought he had that power, was only another puppet of a deity that had to be eliminated.

-"Annoying a wolf is dangerous, don't you know?" - Harry entered the man's mind, he believed himself powerful, no, he didn't know what the true power of the mind was, the man had a huge interest in his family, specifically Jon and Bran, those two were his main objectives - "Hiding under the image of a raven will not help you," - Harry looked at the raven that was watching him, it was a three-eyed raven that was watching him attentively - "I've been waiting for you Brynden Rivers."-

Lord Brynden Rivers, nicknamed Lord Bloodraven, was the bastard son of King Aegon IV Targaryen and Lady Melissa Blackwood, as well as one of the Great Bastards. But that didn't matter right now, now he was the three-eyed raven, a mysterious character supposedly linked to the ancient Gods beyond the wall, known among the children of the forest as the last Greenseer. The greenseers had the power of green sight which is the ability to have prophetic dreams, what are called green dreams, for that unique name and they were also skinchangers, people with the ability to enter the minds of some animals and control them at their will. That was the three-eyed raven or a faction of what it really was, but now he was here in front of Harry in the appearance of a raven since he could not get out of his prison, where he could not leave until he found a successor to take his place. Harry was aware of that, he knew she was looking for a successor from the Stark house, and as he predicted he was right, she was looking for Jon and Bran, very curious since he thought that having a sister with Lyanna's magical ability he was going to go after her.

-"Who are you, where is the Lord of Winterfell?"- Harry heard the voice in his head, he was curious and upset, well it was understandable, he had never seen this boy in his visions, when did he appear, did something change by accident so that this guy is here right now and not Eddard Stark.

-"You are in front of the Lord of Winterfell."- Harry showed his wand and the raven looked at him attentively, before he sensed the danger and flew away from the place, Harry cast a paralyzing spell on him so that he fell to the ground, Harry slowly approached the raven that was still, he did not kill it since it was not going to serve absolutely no purpose; he was going to pay you a visit.

Unknown location

Harry appeared in front of what looked like a corpse surrounded by branches, His body was so skeletal and his clothes were so rotten that they gave that appearance, but it was an undead man so old that the roots of a weirwood had grown on him, under him and through him. All the skin that is visible on him is white, save for a blood-red mark that runs across his neck and down to his cheek. His white hair is fine and light, and long enough to sweep the floor. He is enthroned in a nest of weirwood roots that grow in, under, and over his body. The roots curl around his legs like wooden snakes. And one of them runs through his leggings into the dried flesh of his thigh, to emerge again from his shoulders. A small number of dark red leaves grow from his head, and grey mushrooms populate his eyebrows and cheeks. He has little skin left, stretched across his face and thigh, thick and tough like white leather, but still decaying, and in several places brown and yellow bones are visible. The clothes he wears are rotted and falling apart, stained with moss, and eaten away by worms, but they were once black. The only thing that remains alive on his face is his red eye, which burns like the last coal in a dying fire, surrounded by twisted roots and branches, and pieces of skin on the yellow skull. Where his other eye should be, a root grows from the empty socket.

-"Who are you?" – The voice of a person who was dying reached Harry's ears, who seemed to enjoy it, since he was feeling the fear of this man, well how not to have it, a few seconds ago he was in Winterfell and now he was here in front of him, as if nothing, he just appeared in what seemed like a whirlwind and nothing more than that.

-"Nice prison," – Harry completely ignored the man's words, taking out his wand again to point at the man who couldn't even move a single finger, but he lowered his wand as he showed a smile on his face – "If I kill you I would free you from your prison right," – the man didn't answer, he only heard the sound of the leaves moving a little – "I'll take it with a yes."-

And then Harry began to observe the place, in this place there was magic, the only purpose of that magic was to prolong the life of that man, regardless of the state of his body, they left him alive, but they tortured him at the same time, it was not something pleasant but when you became the three-eyed raven that was your destiny. Harry was not looking for anything in particular, just the children of the forest who had to take care of this man, well rather watch the man, this was a prison, he was the prisoner, therefore his jailers had to be in this place. The children of the Forest, the ancient inhabitants, and natives of Westeros, who lived in peace for a long time, before the first men arrived during the dawn era. According to what he read in the books in the Winterfell library, they could be considered the oldest race of all, since there was no exact data on the age of these little people. But they were certainly interesting, which is why he wanted to see them and see how they reacted to him, it was going to be interesting after all, because his beloved Greenseer was currently in danger.

The children of the forest, as their name suggests, lived in the forests, in caves, and on islands in lakes, without building towns or fortifications. Their world was the forest, which gave them clothing and in which both sexes hunted equally. The weapons they used in hunting were knives made of dragon glass or obsidian, bows made of weirwood with arrowheads made of dragon glass, and traps, since they did not work with metal. But without a doubt, the most characteristic of the children of the forest was their religion, which still survives in some form to this day. They worshiped the gods of the forest, the stream, and the stone, the nameless gods. Their wise men, the greenseers, carved faces in the weirwoods to watch over the forest and they mastered some kind of magic. Legends endow them with supernatural powers and magic, they have control over trees, the ability to enter the skin of an animal, the ability to create music so beautiful that it would make anyone who heard their songs cry, green vision, and the ability to speak to the dead. When they die they join and become part of their gods.

At that moment they appeared or rather one of them, her skin was light brown mottled like a deer with pale spots and large ears. She wears a cloak of leaves. She has large green and gold eyes, slanted like a cat's. Her hair is a tangle of brown, red, and gold, autumn colors, with vines, twigs, and dried flowers woven into it. Behind her appeared more, five in total, with spears in their hands, ready to attack Harry who just stood there watching them intently, but with a movement of his wand they froze before Harry's smile who again put his full attention on Brynden who looked at Harry with the only eye he had left.

-"Your plans were modified, Daenerys will not rule Westeros, Jon will not be her slave, they will marry, and they will have their own kingdom, under the command of the Starks," – Harry spoke, the man could not enter his mind, but he could, as if it were a child's game, and he not only felt the anger of this man, but the anger of another being who was going to die when his time comes – "It must be painful for a Targaryen, even if he is a bastard, to hear that a Stark ruled them over the magnificent Dragons."-

-"Don't talk as if you understand the things that are happening around you." - The man spoke, but Harry pointed his wand at him and caused him agonizing pain, he had long since gotten used to the pain, but this was many times worse, it was like reliving his first years, in this hell, he felt his body regenerate, and the pain increased, as Harry regenerated his body to the exact point where the worms were going to be able to eat him again - "What did you do?!"-

-"A gift from me, your hell is just beginning Lord Raven, I put a curse on you." – Harry approached the man and placed his wand on the man's red eye who tried to close it, but he couldn't, the pain was immense, he felt his eye being taken away, and darkness surrounded him completely – "You don't need your eye, you can use your ravens' eyes to see." – Harry had something planned with these eyes, a ritual that would prevent the animals that were controlled by this man from being able to cross the wall – "Another time I will deal with you…"-

-"You don't understand, your family needs my help, without me you won't be able to defeat the others." - Brynden spoke, his tone was more lively but full of pain, he didn't understand how this child could do this kind of things, what was this boy, he didn't see him in his visions, and now thanks to this child everything became random as if it didn't allow him to act - "You need my help, all of Westeros needs my help... I have the secret of everything... information that you can't find even in the library of Winterfell."-

-"The wall prevents the white walkers from passing to the other side... to destroy the wall they need dragons... and I wonder how a Dragon would pass the wall knowing that they hate the cold." – Harry was not going to allow him to think that the North had dragons, he was not going to allow him to see everything that the North had because he could intervene, it was not going to change anything, but it was better that the plans he had are done slowly and gradually than to rush and make a mistake – "The only way for a Dragon to pass the wall is if they control it and the only one who has that power is you."-

-"No, I am not the only one, your cousin, Bran, he is my successor, he has to take my place." – As expected, Brynden had to do everything possible to have the boy on his side, not only was he powerful, but he anticipated everything since he placed a barrier in his mind so that he could not do anything over the Starks, he did not understand how he did it – "If Bran is not properly trained, he will become a much worse enemy than you imagine."-

Harry didn't answer, he just vanished from the place without saying anything else, Brynden could only hear the footsteps and murmurs of the children of the forest, who apparently could already move, he couldn't see anything since his only eye was taken away in a peculiar way. He couldn't even see what the future held for the Starks, he couldn't even see it, since everything looked blurry to him and when he tried to control the ravens that were near Winterfell he couldn't. That's why he took away his eye, the Starks were magical in a very different way than the Targaryens, they made spells and runes. Winterfell is the only castle that for centuries was intact and practically didn't need remodeling until Harry arrived and changed everything. Now Brynden realized, he didn't belong here, something went wrong, something was altered without him realizing it, but that was impossible, he could see everything, it was impossible for someone to alter something, only he had the ability to make people change their behavior. Only the three-eyed raven was going to change fate, let it dance as it wishes, something was not right.

Winterfell

Harry appeared again in Winterfell and in front of his wife who was waiting for him, apparently, Margaery knew perfectly well where he went, since when she received the letter she came directly to this place without even asking anyone where Harry was. This place was very important to Winterfell, the weirwood tree according to Harry was an important point since magic, according to Harry he came to this place to check on how the kingdom was. That is why the Northerners did not cut the weirwood trees, thanks to them Harry could see if something was wrong in the North, something that initially made Margaery think a lot, at the time, and gave a lot of sense to the people who said that the Starks were the only ones who rule in the North. Not because they are the most powerful house in the North, but because the North spoke to them, that is why when she knew that Harry was not walking through the castle or the city of Winterfell, he was in this place. And when she arrived and didn't find him she knew that she went to see for herself what was happening, he was a wizard after all, she had seen Harry do many things, going to another place was normal for her, although she didn't like the feeling of going from one place to another so fast. According to Harry that was called apparition, and when Harry used it to show her a beautiful place, she didn't like it at all.

-"From your expression, you didn't like what you saw." – Margaery already knew Harry perfectly, and since now that no one could affect the advance of the North, he no longer had to pretend to be a good person and put up with all the stupidity of the South, after the failed Greyjoy rebellion everything changed for the North and the fear of the South began.

-"It seemed that the raven had already noticed my presence," – Harry with a smile, showed her the red eye he had in his hand, Margaery made an uncomfortable face seeing said organ, she didn't even want to know how Harry did to get rid of that – "and the white walkers already started to move…"-

-"And what are we going to do from now on, the dragons although they are teenagers are not ready to fight." – Margaery saw the dragons, and they were undoubtedly big, they were not in captivity, that's why there was a rumor that the lord of the Stark house raised dragons and tamed them, no lord of the North denied anything, so it was an open rumor that only the Northerners knew – "We have to make time for them to reach adulthood and use all their power."-

-"Don't worry, the Night King knows that, and we will take advantage of it." – Harry began to write in the air with his wand, for Margaery they were strange figures of fire, which made no sense, but what Harry was doing was preventing the raven from using some animal from the North to be able to watch them – "It's time for our guests to return home...and for the real game of thrones to begin."-
