Long Live The King

Chapter 7: 07

Joffrey is not Robert's son. That was the phrase that left Jon speechless, who was not finding the right words to digest Harry, who was calm. For a person like Jon, who was very paranoid, Harry coming, to say that only raised alarm. What was he looking for? Why did he, say that? The Starks had a good relationship with the Lannisters, one that he tried to break for 7 years and could not do so, but now he was here, saying those barbarities. But Jon could not find the right words to confront Harry, what he was saying was an act of treason to the crown, since he was betraying the person who would be its next king. But then why, knowing how smart Harry was and how cunning he was, why would he say that to the person who sought to destroy all his progress, because Jon is the person who on many occasions tried to get Eddard GreyStark to take control of Winterfell and the title of lord of the Stark house since he was sure that with his pupil in charge of Winterfell, he would have better control over this kingdom, then, why did he do this, knowing that they were political enemies.

Harry planted doubt in Jon, to be the person who had to be the king's right hand, he is an easy person to manipulate when you corner him, adding that Harry was reading every thought he had. If it weren't because he had to be serious, he was sure he would laugh, but why did Harry do that, why was he giving this information to Jon? A short time ago he made a pact with Cersei to eliminate this person, and for Joffrey to take control of the kingdom, where he was sure that she would be able to control him. That was all a lie, he was sure that at this very moment, while he was here wasting his time with Jon, his wife was convincing Cersei that she was going to be a good queen. Harry was going to drive Tywin Lannister away from King's Landing, Robert was going to die, and everyone would look at two people as the ones responsible for that act, Cersei and Jon. Either way, it was going to end badly for Jon, as he was going to be killed for sure or executed, either way, he was going to destroy the information that Joffrey was a bastard to appropriate people, as was the case of Stannis Baratheon, and Renly Baratheon.

Jon Arryn was an ambitious man, a good man, but ambitious, he wanted his name written in history, to be known as the best person to occupy the position of the hand of the king. And if the current king was removed from the path, Robert died in a tragic accident, Jon assumed the position of king until Joffrey came of age, and again a stone had to be put in the way. Cersei, being the king's wife, has the right to rule until her son comes of age, at that time there would be a power dispute, where Jon was going to threaten his secret because Harry was completely sure that Jon was going to investigate this on his own, always rumors that Cersei had affairs with another man, to get revenge for the constant infidelities of her beloved and dear husband. From that deception was born Joffrey, Cersei Lannister's bastard, that would only make things much more violent, in King's Landing, but it was assumptions, just a small example of what Harry thought was going to happen, he did not see the future, he only deduced through the attitudes of these two people, if they removed Robert Baratheon from the way.

But to that, another person had to be added to the equation, Joffrey, a stubborn boy with an uncontrollable temper and a marked sadistic streak. He seems to have little sense of right or wrong, blaming others for his mistakes. Considered a disobedient, reckless, cruel, and quite childish child. Ignorant of the subtleties and nuances of politics, he could be polite and correct when it suited him, but usually only to deceive others. But in the end, the latter worked with highly trained people in this branch such as Harry, Tywin, Tyrion, Olenna, Oberyn, and even Jon Arryn himself who were monsters when it came to politics as they were always in constant battles where they mediated their political power. Having all those advantages, Harry expected that the boy, since his father was not on the throne, would usurp power, regardless of the rules, Joffrey not being of age could not be crowned king, but he was the child's impatience playing against everyone, even his own mother.

-"You and I, we don't have a good relationship, but if this gets out, there will be a rift in the kingdom, and I don't think I can help," - Harry looked worried, he had to be, he had to pretend as much as possible so that this old man would believe the truth, Jon understood how serious this was - "Robert is not a good king, and I am aware that you'd do everything possible to make that the man focus, on top of all that, he has to fight with Tywin."-

-"What is all this about, Lord Stark?" - Jon was an old man, one who lived through many things, wars, betrayals, and death among many other things, so Harry's words made him doubt a lot, although he was right, if Joffrey was not Robert's son, it meant that he had no heir, therefore, anyone would be able to claim the iron throne.

-"Robert is not a good king, but Joffrey will be worse," – Harry's words were nothing new, Jon himself knew that no lord who met Joffrey was comfortable with his presence, adding to that, Cersei did not do a good job as a mother, so Joffrey's attitude was worse every day that passed – "Main reason why I do not want my sister to marry him, besides I do not think she will live too long with that attitude."-

-"Would you betray the crown?" – Jon was curious, and very attentive to Harry's words, saying such words only accused him of being a traitor, but Harry laughed at the words of the man, who was in front of him.

-"You always take me as the main enemy Jon, how many times did I say the crown doesn't interest me, I just want the North to be at peace." - Harry always said that, and he was never going to get tired of saying that, his priority is always the North, the plans come later, although he had to admit that Jon was a cautious person since he never paid attention to those words - "I don't care about the crown, I don't care about King's Landing... but they always accuse me of being the enemy, without reason, I didn't try to revolutionize like Stannis and Robert, I'm not in King's Landing trying to take your place... I'm only in my kingdom."-

With that, Harry ended this little conversation, Jon had a lot to think about, Harry was sure he wasn't going to do anything against him, he was seeing Jon's thoughts. He wanted power if it was true that Joffrey was not Robert's legitimate son, there was no way he would allow him to occupy a position on the Iron Throne, not the legitimate son of his student, but he had to find out, he wasn't going to make plans without having an overview of what was really going on. But he took one last look at Harry, he knew the boy was smart, but the doubt was why he told him that, if it was a trick to have him under his control it was useless, he heard that there was a survivor of the Bolton house, he was going to find him and train him properly. It could be the point he needed to have the North under control, at the time, for now, he had better things to do and had what it took to remove the Lannister family from power. And if necessary, he was even going to get his own student out of the way, although it was painful for a teacher to say that; Robert was not someone indispensable for the crown.

Wolf Tower

The highest tower of the Stark Castle was called the Wolf Tower. In that tower was Ashara Stark with her three daughters, it was a pleasant moment for the four, although Ashara was watching as her son was talking or finished her conversation with Jon who was very thoughtful. Like every mother, Ashara was proud of the son she had, in the same way as her daughters, even though two of them were adopted, they were raised by her, and the bond she had with Mya and Artemisia was enormous as if she had her blood. Then there was Lyanna who was a miniature version of her brother, but with the idea that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her older siblings. She wanted to be as smart as Harry, as strong as Mya, and agile as Artemisia, a unique girl, who only remembered her when she was a child. Harry looked a lot like his father, and Lyanna had a great resemblance to her. On the one hand, it was funny, since he was sure that Brandon was still alive, he was not going to allow anyone to touch a hair of his girl. Much like his brother, but in a more violent way.

Ashara was a fundamental part when it came to the North, she was the only person in the whole world who could contradict Harry, the only person who could force Harry to change his mind. Harry was initially going to ask, in order to save Robert's neck from his brothers, for his uncle Eddard GreyStark to take a seat on the king's council, not caring that his uncle was not a real player, he was a noble and fair man, who was going to be surrounded by people who were not going to play that stupid game of justice in order to gain power. Ashara was the only one who refused to do so, and made her son change those plans, without the need to sacrifice a member of his family, because that was what Harry was going to do. He was going to sacrifice his uncle, sending him to a place where he would surely kill him if necessary to get him out of the way. Ned, unfortunately, trusted a person very quickly, which made him easy to manipulate, that's why the other lords of the north didn't trust the one nicknamed white wolf very much.

-"Mother, do you think he took the bait?" – Artemisia was always interested in her mother's way of doing things, well, she was the one who made Elia go alone to Dorne knowing that Petyr Baelish was going to be there, but why, so that she would be fooled.

Men are easy to manipulate, most with sex, others with money, power, and other factors – Ashara moved away from the window to pay full attention to Artemisia, who was a little hesitant that her mother was bait, a plan that she created, even with Harry's refusal – "Jon Arryn and Petyr Baelish just have to feel that they have control... giving them information is giving them power."-

-"Mother, we do not know what that man is capable of, Petyr Baelish is like a scorpion, you cannot trust one." – Mya was not going to pretend that she was not worried, telling an ambitious man that if he controlled Ashara he controlled Harry and therefore the North, was dangerous, because she was not going to spare any resources to have her – "The North is very safe... even when you leave he can try

to kidnap you."-

-"That is what I am looking for my beloved daughters, he will try to get to me, but not when I am in the North, so he will make his trips more frequent and lengthen his stay in Dorne, to wait for me." – Ashara wanted Petyr to be constantly outside of King's Landing, because he was going to put on alert a person that they would keep busy until the day of his elimination, with a Petyr constantly busy in Dorne, it was going to cause the spider to worry about what the scorpion was doing – "As bait, I will only cause the scorpion and the spider to kill each other."-

Ashara knew that Varys had some fear regarding the power that Petyr might have, when Jon Arryn died, the valley was practically his because Jon's wife was madly in love with Petyr. But the scorpion did not stop and went in search of the snake, with Oberyn he sought to have Elia and of course, her power, which forced Varys to look for a very powerful ally such as Olenna Tyrell. And the fear in Varys was going to increase when Petyr's trips to Dorne became more constant, his stay in the kingdom was much longer than he expected, which was going to set off the alerts in the poor eunuch who was going to try to prevent Petyr from having a good relationship with the Martells, which was going to mean that he had to eliminate the scorpion. But as Varys was somewhat afraid of Petyr, Petyr was equally afraid of the spider. They thought that the big fish did not suspect the small fish, they thought that they could do whatever they wanted and they were wrong. The true predators of the West were attentive to every movement that any possible enemy made.

Streets of Winterfell

Margaery was also doing her part of the work, she managed to get Cersei out of the castle so she could walk with her on the route she always took, it was a shame she couldn't be telling stories to the children, as she always did, but she did walk through the streets while greeting the boys and girls, their mothers and of course the old women. Cersei looked at that with some envy, it was noticeable that people loved Margaery, it was something she couldn't say about her people, she never had contact with them, so seeing this made her somewhat envious, but she tried to hide it because as queen she had to show a good impression. But neither of them went alone, Margaery was accompanied by two Valkyries who were also greeted mainly by the girls, and Cersei had a personal escort who in her case was her brother Jaime who being a handsome guy earned the glances of the teenagers and women who found the Lannister attractive, it was something that was never lacking, the curious thing for Jaime was that those glances were scarce, very few women paid attention to him, that was good, in the other kingdoms there were even women who offered themselves to him.

But what did Margaery gain by taking Cersei away from the castle and having her see this, simply because she enjoyed that look of envy, Margaery felt tremendous joy seeing that look. Cersei did not deserve to be a queen, she did not have the qualities of a queen, so she was showing her what it meant to be a queen, the people of Winterfell loved her, if she went to another castle with her husband everyone would stare at her, the North adored her as its queen and it was not because she was married to Harry. She won the affection of the north, for 5 years she was showing that she was going to be an excellent queen, and in her sixth year of living in this wonderful place, they reciprocated with this immense affection that she felt. The love and affection of the people for their queen, something that Cersei never felt and will never feel, adding to that, there was a prophecy about Cersei, one that Margaery wanted Cersei to see that she was that person. Tyrion Lannister told them that prophecy, a prophecy that Cersei told Jaime "You will marry the king. Queen you will be... until another younger and more beautiful comes to overthrow you and take over everything that is dear to you."

Margaery just wanted to show Cersei that she was her, that the prophecy was about her, it is true that she had to pretend to be Cersei's friend and she did it perfectly, the whole moment made her believe that she was going to do a better job than her husband. Saying that she admired her as a queen because no one realized what she endured for her kingdom, she pretended to be her friend, making her believe that she was in control of everything. But it was far from reality.

But because Margaery wanted Cersei to think that she was the young woman from the prophecy, it could be dangerous for Harry's future plans, Cersei is a spiteful person, she only had to talk to Tyrion Lannister to know how spiteful her sister was. However there was a big difference, Cersei could not do anything to Margaery, she was not a damsel in distress. She knew how to defend herself, and in the North she learned a lot of what she could have imagined, getting to know Cersei more and more thoroughly, the only thing that provoked Margaery was to kill her, she did not understand how Oberyn wanted to have her as a simple sex toy, just because his lover wanted to play with the great lioness. It sounded funny, but the only title Cersei had was that of the daughter of Tywin Lannister, the Great Golden Lion of House Lannister.

It was the title she deserved in Margaery's eyes, and at that moment her owl arrived where she was, with a note, which left her a little intrigued. A member of the Night's Watch had broken his vow. It was something she had never seen, so if Harry was sending her this note it was because something important was happening, and when she looked up she noticed a good number of ravens flying. Something was not right.
