Leviathan: Rise of the Abyss

Chapter 6: Stay Away

"In a world where power is both a gift and a curse, discretion is the thin line between survival and annihilation." By Unknown

Leviathan went to the clothing store in a good mood and as he was about to enter the mall he crashed into someone "Sorry" Leviathan said but the person didn't reply and walked away. Leviathan looked back at the man who he bumped into as he found the man strange but he quickly ignored it before entering the mall

He quickly bought all what he believed he needed and went back home and everyone was stunned by the amount of things he took home. "How is he carrying that amount of luggage" someone on the first floor said "What does he need that amount of clothes for?, is he planning on wearing one for each day of the week" another person said in disbelief while Leviathan who heard them smirked as he used his two hands to raise the three huge moving boxes held in front of him higher

Sophia who happened to be sitted on the first floor waiting for someone sa what Leviathan was Don and she quickly ran towards him then removed one of the boxes from Leviathan's front and all the boxes fell down and Sophia began to help him stand the boxes well "Are you stupid? How can be using your powers in public like this?" Sophia asked and Leviathan grinned at her

"So you care about me" Leviathan asked with a grin "No, I don't. I don't just want you to get killed" Sophia said as she asked some of the guards to help carry the boxes "And why would I get killed" Leviathan asked and Sophia sighed "I don't know what you are but It's the rules of the supernatural, you use your powers in public you will get hunted"

Sophia walked away from Leviathan quickly, her heels clicking against the marble floor of the Greystone lobby. She didn't turn back once, even though she could feel his piercing gaze lingering on her. Her chest felt tight, frustration mixing with fear. *What's wrong with me? Why can't I just stay away from him?*

Leviathan stood there for a moment, watching her retreating form, his grin fading into a thoughtful expression. He shook his head slightly, muttering to himself. "Complicated," he said before heading to the elevator with his mountain of shopping bags.

**The next morning, At the penthouse **

The faint smell of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the penthouse as Lotan pushed the door open. In one hand, he carried a bag of food, and in the other, a cup holder balancing two steaming drinks.

"Good morning, Leviathan" Lotan said cheerfully, stepping into the main living area.

Leviathan was sitting on the couch, one leg crossed over the other, his eyes scanning through a sleek black tablet. Without looking up, he muttered, "What's good about it?"

Lotan chuckled, setting the bag and coffee cups down on the kitchen counter. His eyes wandered to the massive walk-in closet visible from the living room. The sight made him stop in his tracks.

"Is that... all yours?" Lotan asked, pointing at the closet, where neatly arranged clothes and shoes filled every corner.

Leviathan finally looked up, his expression impassive. "Yes. I needed clothes."

Lotan laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. "You've been alive for less than a week, and you're already living like royalty. Impressive." He reached into the bag and pulled out a croissant, tossing it to Leviathan.

Leviathan caught it effortlessly but didn't take a bite. "I don't eat," he said flatly.

"Correction: You don't *need* to eat," Lotan said, taking a bite of his own croissant. "But you should try it. Food is one of the few pleasures humans actually get right. Plus, it might help you blend in."

Leviathan glanced at the croissant before setting it down on the table untouched.

Lotan sighed but didn't push further. Instead, he clapped his hands together. "Right. Today's a big day. I'm introducing you to the major players in Seattle's supernatural community. You'll need to make a good impression."

"Let's just get it over with," Leviathan replied, standing up.

**Cindred Hospital **

Sophia arrived at the hospital, her usual confidence shaken. The events of the previous day weighed heavily on her mind, and she felt as though everyone was staring at her, even though she knew they weren't.

"Dr. Lane," one of her colleagues greeted her as she walked past the nurses' station.

She nodded absently. "Morning."

As she approached her office, the news reached her.

"Dr. Lane, I'm sorry to inform you... Mr. Miles passed away early this morning," a nurse said softly.

Sophia froze in place, her heart sinking. "What? How?"

"Heart failure," the nurse explained. "The official report says it was natural causes, but it looks suspicious"

Sophia nodded at the nurse and thanked her for the information as her mind was racing. She had been monitoring Mr. Miles closely. His condition hadn't been great, but it hadn't been fatal either and she has been using her healing abilities to heal him of the wolf bite he got. There was nothing that could make a vampire due of an heart failure because vampires don't have hearts. Something wasn't right.

She hurried to her office, only to find a black envelope sitting ominously on her desk. Her stomach churned as she picked it up, her fingers trembling slightly.

Tearing it open, she read the contents:

*It doesn't matter what or which creature is supporting you, but if you dare go near Leviathan, you will end the same way as that pesky vampire patient of yours, Mr. Miles.*

Sophia's legs nearly gave out beneath her. She slumped into her chair, the letter clutched in her shaking hands. Fear clawed at her chest, but frustration quickly followed. Who was behind this? And why were they so intent on keeping her away from Leviathan?

She wanted to go to someone for help, but who? The police couldn't handle something like this, and involving Leviathan himself felt like a dangerous gamble.

Meanwhile, Leviathan and Lotan stood in a dimly lit conference room on the top floor of an old but well-maintained skyscraper in downtown Seattle.

The room was filled with tension. Four figures sat around the table: the leader of the Seattle werewolves, a muscular man with sharp features and piercing golden eyes; the head of the witches, an elegant woman with flowing silver hair; the demon representative, a sleek and dangerous-looking man in a tailored suit; and the vampire leader, a pale, sharp-eyed figure with an air of detachment around him.

Lotan introduced Leviathan to each of them, but the atmosphere remained cold.

"You expect us to trust this... newcomer?" the vampire leader sneered.

"Leviathan is under my protection and also my broyso you have no choice but to trust him" Lotan replied calmly. "But you can be rest assured that he has no intention of disrupting the balance in Seattle."

The vampire leader's lips curled into a bitter smile. "Balance? One of my experts was killed yesterday. Mr. Miles. And you expect me to believe it wasn't connected to your precious brother Leviathan?"

"I had nothing to do with that," Leviathan said, his voice steady but uncaring about what the vampire leader said or thought

"That remains to be seen," the vampire leader said, his tone icy.

The werewolf leader leaned forward, his golden eyes narrowing. "If he steps out of line, we'll hold you responsible, Lotan. Don't forget"

"Oh my my my, do the both of you have to be so bitter, you are to welcome the new comer with open arms especially since he is Lotan's bother. A friend of Lotan is a friend of mine and a brother of Lotan is also a brother of mine" the witches leader said as she winked at Lotan

"As long as he doesn't disrupt any of our rituals he is free to do what ever he wants to do in the city" the demons leader said

Lotan nodded, his expression unwavering. "Understood." and Leviathan grinned at all of them

*****Greysquire Building****

That evening, Sophia and Alice returned to the Greystone building, only to find their belongings stacked in the lobby.

"This has to be a mistake," Sophia said, her voice trembling.

"It's no mistake," one of the building staff said nervously. "Mr. Miles' son has reclaimed the apartment. You've been evicted."

Alice's face turned red with anger. "Evicted? Just like that? Where the hell are we supposed to go?"

Before the staff member could respond, Leviathan appeared, his sharp gaze landing on the scene before him.

"What's going on here?" he asked, his deep voice cutting through the tension like a knife.

Alice wasted no time explaining, her frustration spilling out. "They've thrown us out because of some stupid inheritance nonsense! We have nowhere to go!"

Leviathan's eyes darkened as he turned to the staff member. "Fix this," he commanded.

"I-I can't," the staff member stammered. "It's out of my hands."

Leviathan glanced at Sophia, who was avoiding his gaze, and then back at Alice. "You'll stay with me," he said simply.

"What?" Alice asked, blinking in surprise.

"You'll stay in my penthouse," Leviathan repeated. "Both of you."

Sophia opened her mouth to protest, but Alice cut her off. "Fine. At least someone's being decent about this."

**The Penthouse**

Later, as they settled into Leviathan's spacious penthouse, Alice couldn't help but tease Sophia.

"So...you and Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome. What's going on there?"

"Nothing," Sophia replied quickly, avoiding eye contact.

"Come on," Alice said, smirking. "He likes you. It's obvious."

Sophia scoffed. "We've known each other for two days. There's nothing to 'like.'"

"Sure," Alice said, grinning. "Keep telling yourself that."

*****Later that day, Around midnight****

Sophia sat alone in the living room, the black envelope still on her mind. She glanced at Leviathan, who was standing by the window, his silhouette framed by the city lights. "Is my face so attractive that you can't take your eyes of it" Leviathan said and Sophia quickly turned her head away in embarrassment

"Don't flatter yourself, you are not that good looking" Sophia said and Leviathan gasped acting shocked "I'm very attractive you know, can't you just see how handsome this face of mine is" Leviathan said and Sophia laughed

"So now that you are in a good mood, can you tell me why you are avoiding me" Leviathan asked and Sophia shooked her head "I'm not avoiding you, am I not here having this conversation with you" Sophia said still smiling. "You should smile more, your smile is beautiful" Leviathan said and Sophia blushed before she stood up

"I should get some sleep now, I have to go to work tomorrow" Sophia said before she hurriedly went to her room "Where are you coming from" Alice asked as the feeling of the bed sinking beside her woke her up "I just went to have a glass of water" Sophia said and Alice turned on the bed "Somehow I feel like you went out to talk to Mr tall and handsome" Alice said as she smiled at Sophia

"Stop saying nonsense and go back to sleep, we have to find a new apartment tomorrow" Sophia said embarrassed "I don't want to leave here, I like it here" Alice said before she slept back "But we have to leave Alice" Sophia whispered before she also went to sleep

As she went to sleep the black envelope she kept in her bag suddenly burned into ashes and far away in New Orleans, a certain demon had a devilish smile on his face. "The half breed is mine to claim Leviathan" the demon said
