Jing Xingzhi’s Daily Life in Ancient Times

Chapter 92 - I

Liu Fang was stunned for a moment, then he gently bumped the back of his head against Jing Xingzhi’s chest and said, “Old man, why are you so sentimental? Do you want to see me cry?” He spoke with a nasal tone.

Jing Xingzhi smiled and said, “No, just keep watching.”

Jing Xingzhi snapped his fingers.

There was a “pop” sound.

A river lantern resembling a “small boat” appeared upstream of the Shu River.

This new river lantern was really too big. Compared with the small river lanterns floating in the river, it was simply a huge monster.

When the “small boat river lantern” got closer, Liu Fang recognized the black dog playing happily on it!

The black dog stepped on the river surface, splashing water with all four feet. The more interesting thing was that it had small shoes wrapped around its feet that could not get wet, so it could play in the water without getting cold.

The black dog played for a while before noticing the person it was familiar with. It swam over happily with a grunt.

The black dog, wearing small shoes, stepped on the ground uncomfortably. On its back, there was a small bag on each side.

Jing Xingzhi stretched out his hand, and the black dog bumped into it.

Jing Xingzhi took off the small bag on its back, then patted its butt and told it to leave.

The black dog was no longer the dog it used to be. It had gotten used to the countless cruel things that this man, it liked so much, ordered to be with another person.

It really was true when they said once they had a wife, they forgot about the dog!

But they even threw away the dog after using it!

The black dog barked and ran away happily with the strand of Qi in its mouth.

Jing Xingzhi knew that the black dog knew the way home, so he didn’t care about it.

Day by day, the Qi cheating method became better. It would act coquettishly if it didn’t get what it wanted. It was a dog weighing more than 100 pounds, but no one knew how could it grow so big.

Even Xiao Fangfang, no matter how much he ate, didn’t gain any weight. All the weight went to the baby in his belly. Jing Xingzhi looked at Liu Fang and handed him the small bundle.

“Gifts, you open them.”

Liu Fang could only open one at a time, so he let Jing Xingzhi hold one for him and then opened the first one.

In the small cloth bundle, there was a brocade box. The first box contained two porcelain dolls, both of which looked like cute little people.

One looked like Jing Xingzhi, the other looked like Liu Fang. The two little people were wearing little bellybands, holding hands and smiling happily. The little person who looked like Jing Xingzhi was peeking at the little person who looked like Liu Fang.

Liu Fang looked at Jing Xingzhi and found that Jing Xingzhi deliberately imitated the movements of the porcelain doll and tilted his head to look at him. He also asked him, “Do they look like us?”

Liu Fang took the little person in his hand, put it next to Jing Xingzhi, and said with joy, “This look like you, but its clothes are cuter than yours.”

Jing Xingzhi glanced at the clothes on the little person and said without hesitation, “Then I will put them on you when we go back!”

Little bellyband! What an obvious meaning—did it even need hesitation?!

Liu Fang smiled, glanced at him, put down the porcelain doll, let Jing Xingzhi hold it, and went to open the second gift.

Jing Xingzhi watched him and thought that Xiao Fangfang was shameless and untroubled today. It seemed that he had chosen well.

But the first gift was just an appetizer; the second one was his trump card.

Sure enough, Liu Fang got the booklet in the second bundle, turned a page, and was stunned.

Liu Fang flipped through the booklet, one page, two pages, very slowly.

Gradually, his movements became slower and slower.

Then, without a word, tears fell down.

Jing Xingzhi hugged him tightly, somewhat doubting that he had given the wrong gift, and said hesitantly, “Or, don’t read it…”

As Jing Xingzhi said this, he was about to snatch Liu Fang’s booklet and throw it into the river.

Liu Fang refused, sniffed, and quickly hid it in his arms. “What are you doing? You’ve already given it to me; you can’t just throw it away.”

Before Jing Xingzhi could answer, Liu Fang looked at him with red eyes. “You annoying guy, you must have done it on purpose, just wanting to see me cry!”

‘God and heaven be my witnesses!  I really wasn’t!’

Jing Xingzhi wailed in his heart, gently rocking Liu Fang and acting coquettishly. “No way. Why are you crying? I thought you like it.”

The booklet was a four-frame comic drawn by Jing Xingzhi himself. The characters in it were mainly him and Liu Fang. The real-life comic had taken him a long time.

Jing Xingzhi remembered many things from the past bit by bit, slowly recalling them, rewriting them, and then drawing them.

The content rewritten by Jing Xingzhi was where Liu Fang cried.

The overt and covert advances that were not discovered at the time, the details he had almost forgotten, were actually drawn down. And Jing Xingzhi in the comics, in contrast, had shed his casualness and laziness of the past, carefully discovering those moments when Liu Fang chasing him.

Jing Xingzhi held Liu Fang’s hand. “Thinking of those times, it’s actually a pity. But fortunately, I didn’t lose you.”

Jing Xingzhi wrapped his arms around Liu Fang’s waist and kissed his red eyes.

Jing Xingzhi was unexpectedly a little shy and didn’t say the three words “I love you” out loud, but just told himself silently in his heart.

‘I love him.’

Liu Fang felt a little embarrassed that he cried and buried his head in Jing Xingzhi’s chest.

When he stopped crying, Jing Xingzhi pulled him out of his arms and coaxed the blushing shuanger softly. “Little carrot, lift your head; you still need to breathe.”

Liu Fang blushed. “You are the one is little carrot!!”

Jing Xingzhi smiled and said, “I am a big white carrot, a super big one. It’s late at night and the dew is heavy; let’s take the little carrot home.”

The two walked back slowly, hand in hand.

However, halfway through the walk, Jing Xingzhi suddenly stopped.

Liu Fang didn’t know what had happened; he just felt a wave of comfortable energy arching into his body, making him feel very relaxed. Because it was so pleasant, Liu Fang stood and waited for Jing Xingzhi’s reaction.

After a while, Jing Xingzhi smiled from ear to ear. He happily hugged Liu Fang, as if he had too much strength to contain.

“Xiao Fangfang! You are such a little treasure. Three good things are coming to you tonight!” Jing Xingzhi exclaimed, extremely excited as he felt the huge amount of true qi in his body.

His Qi training technique had made a breakthrough!

The Qi training technique of the Jing family was divided into five levels. Mastering the first level would make one strong and healthy. Mastering the second level would allow one to enter the mysterious realm and be considered a powerful person. After the third level, it was said that one’s ability would become increasingly stronger, but breaking through would be more difficult.

In the past, in each generation of the Jing family, no more than ten children had mastered the second level. Those who mastered the third level could become the head of the family and a significant figure.

Jing Xingzhi’s grandfather had broken through the second level and mastered the third level. The magic he displayed made Jing Xingzhi yearn for it.

But Jing Xingzhi was young and inexperienced. He hadn’t even touched the threshold of the third level before he was killed by a truck.

He picked up the Qi training technique again in ancient times. Because he had a foundation, he quickly mastered the second level.

He didn’t expect to be so lucky today. Taking Xiao Fangfang out to see the river lanterns had led him to reach the third level. How could Jing Xingzhi not be happy?

Liu Fang grabbed him tightly and asked, “Where did you get the three happinesses? What happened just now?”

“I just broke through. You were close to me, so you absorbed some of the vitality of heaven and earth, which is also good for the baby.”

After hearing this, Liu Fang touched his belly happily.

Then Jing Xingzhi kissed him on the face. “This is the first happiness.” Jing Xingzhi tapped his belly with his fingers. “This is the second happiness.”

“What about the third happiness?” Liu Fang asked with interest, smiling.

Jing Xingzhi raised his head and said proudly, “I am the third happiness.”

After breaking through, he walked faster. In the blink of an eye, Jing Xingzhi had carried him home.
