Chapter 31: The legacy: the way of old Valyria (Asoiaf)
Clinging to life, I barely registered the silver-haired guards carrying me, their grip rough and uncaring. Whether they knew I was still breathing or simply didn't care, it made no difference. With no hesitation, they tossed me into the pit. I crashed into a mound of rotting flesh and mangled bodies, the stench of death clawing at my throat.
Pain flared through my body as I forced my aching limbs to move. Every muscle screamed, every scar burned. Twelve years a slave, my body bore the proof marks of the whip, bones that had set wrong, teeth broken or missing. My once-pristine Valyrian features had been marred beyond recognition. A crooked nose, a full silver beard, patches of hair torn away by years of punishment. But my eyes remained unchanged Valyrian purple, burning with fury.
Fury at my captors. Fury at my father, Aenar Targaryen, "the Exile," who had sold his holdings and fled to the far west with our family except me. A bastard son left behind, easy prey for House Targaryen's enemies. They had taken me, chained me, thrown me into darkness with the rest of the slaves. And the Freehold had not cared. Why would they? I was a bastard. Less than nothing.
But rage had kept me alive, a fire that never died. Even as exhaustion pulled at me, even as my body threatened to give in, I clenched my teeth and fought against the blackness creeping in.

My eyes snapped open.

I felt the connection instantly. The Freehold is mine. The greatest civilization in history, under my control.
With a thought, a massive blue portal opened before me. I stepped through.
I emerged into a grand palace, its walls lined with gold and dragon-forged steel. The home of the most powerful Valyrian family.
The former most powerful family.
I raised a hand. Gold portals shimmered into existence around me. Gate of Babylon. Weapons fired in every direction, golden spears impaling every servant, every noble, every man, woman, and child in sight.
I left no one alive.
At last, I reached the grand bedroom. A lone silver-haired man stood waiting, his eyes wide in horror. He barely had time to react before a portal opened, and a blade shot forward, piercing his heart.
Silence.
I stepped over his corpse and collapsed onto the silk-covered bed.
{Does the user wish to hibernate}
Yes.
A blinding light engulfed the Freehold.
Far away, history would remember Valyria's fall. A great Doom that wiped it from existence. They would never know the truth. That the Freehold had not been destroyed.
It had simply vanished.
And one day, it would return.
With its new king.
XxX
Had been thinking of doing this for a while, but never got up to it until now. I'm so conflicted if we should start during the dance of the dragons or the start of asoiaf. I consider starting in the century of blood but decided against it for one single little character Aurion this mf would fuck up the plot for some obvious reasons.
