Chapter 30: The original gamer (DXD starting world)

As I floated in the void, I could only reflect on the series of events that led me here.

Seriously, women are so dramatic. My now ex-girlfriend had shot me in the head, and for what? Sleeping with her best friend? Sure, maybe I wasn't the most faithful, but that didn't mean I deserved to die. Relationships are about compromise, and if she couldn't handle my love for women, that was her problem, not mine. Instead of being supportive, she went and put a bullet in my skull.

Andrew Tate was right...

[Welcome! You have been chosen as the Host of the Gamer System!]

…What?

Floating text in the void? Either I had lost my mind, or something supernatural was at play. Not much else to do here, so I might as well entertain whatever insanity this is.

Please select a class.

[Fighter] [Archer] [Mage] [Healer] [Rogue]

Well, I wasn't particularly strong, so Fighter was out. I could take my time analyzing each option, but come on—magic? Hell yes. I wasn't about to play support, though, so Mage it was.

Select a specialization.

[Elementalist] [Illusionist] [Druid] [Necromancer] [Summoner] [Enchanter] [Healer]

Immediately, I clicked Elementalist. Summoning and necromancy were tempting, but nothing beat the idea of shooting raw elemental power from my hands.

Choose an element.

[Aeromancer] [Pyromancer] [Hydromancer] [Geomancer] [Cryomancer] [Electromancer] [Umbramancer] [Locked] [Locked] [Locked]...

Pyromancer was a solid offensive choice, and Cryomancer was a balance between attack and defense. The others had their strengths too, but ultimately, I had to go with Umbramancer.

Because I'm an edgy fuck, and I want to kill people with darkness.

I groaned as I woke up, my body feeling sluggish. My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the dim moonlight seeping through the window. Blinking away the haze, I sat up, a yawn escaping me.

Why do I feel so damn exhausted? It's still nighttime, but my body feels like lead.

And then it hit me.

Memories crashed into my mind—memories of the void, my past life, and… my new one.

My name is Izana Kurokawa, a 16-year-old half-Japanese, half-Filipino male. I frowned, noticing my height—5'8? A downgrade from my previous life's 6'5, but whatever. My parents in this life had died a year ago, leaving me a small fortune—not enough to be filthy rich, but enough to live comfortably if I managed my money wisely.

More importantly, my new home? Kuoh.

As in Kuoh Academy.

As in High School DxD.

The realization sent a chill down my spine. I knew how dangerous this world was. Devils, fallen angels, dragons, gods… I was at a severe disadvantage as a human. But at least some humans were pretty strong just look at Vasco Strada or Dulio Gesualdo.

With The Gamer System, I could catch up fast. But one mistake could mean death.

Well, none of that mattered right now. What did matter was getting strong before Monday.

I activated ID Create, and a blue portal materialized in front of me. Stepping through, I found myself in a massive cave.

The instant I entered, I instinctively dodged to the side as an arrow whizzed past me, embedding itself in the ground. My eyes snapped to the attacker a small, green-skinned creature with large ears and an even larger nose, clutching a bow with another arrow nocked.

Quest Added!

[Complete the Combat Tutorial]

Objective: Clear the beginner dungeon.

Reward: ???

No hesitation. I created a Shadow Ball and hurled it at the goblin.

SPLAT!

Its tiny body exploded, painting the cave walls with its organs.

This was going to be fun.

…At most, I was dealing around 20 damage per hit, so really, this dungeon was pretty pathetic.

I dashed through the stone corridors, slaughtering goblins left and right. A group of them rushed toward me, their tiny weapons raised in an attempt to overwhelm me with numbers. [Shadow Spike]. Dark energy surged as I impaled them all in an instant, their bodies falling lifelessly to the ground.

I continued through the dungeon, wiping out goblins and steadily leveling up. It didn't take long for me to notice a pattern—these creatures weren't just scattered randomly. They were defending something. The deeper I went, the more resistance I faced, meaning I was heading in the right direction.

They're guarding something… the boss must be close.

Following the densest clusters of goblins, I eventually arrived at a massive red door. The entrance to the boss room.

Before stepping inside, I opened my Status to check my progress.

Not bad. With my stats pumped up, I could now take hits without immediately dying, and my attacks would be even stronger.

Before I entered the boss room, I decided to test something.

"Skill Creation."

New Skill Created!

[Magic Missile] – LVL 1/100

Cost: 100 MP.

Launches a magical projectile at the target.

Damage: (10 + INT) magic damage.

An additional missile is created every 10 levels.

Neat. That confirmed that Skill Creation worked exactly as it seemed meaning I could eventually create ridiculously broken abilities.

Now, with everything set, I stepped forward and pushed open the giant red doors.

Inside, I found myself in a massive colosseum, its stone walls stretching high into a sky that glowed an unnatural shade of purple.

At the far end of the arena, seated atop an elevated throne, was the boss.

It was a goblin—but far larger than the others.

Draped in black robes, the creature radiated an aura of intelligence that its lesser kin lacked. In one clawed hand, it gripped a wooden staff, topped with a green crystal that pulsed ominously.

Its yellow eyes locked onto me, filled with something I hadn't seen in the others.

This wasn't just some brute.

This goblin knew I was coming.

And it was ready.

The goblin boss immediately began summoning reinforcements, but these goblins were different. Unlike the weak ones I had fought before, these wore armor and looked more battle-ready.

Tch.

Wasting no time, I cast [Magic Missile], sending a glowing projectile straight into the nearest goblins. They barely had time to react before exploding into purple dust.

Using the opening, I lunged forward, aiming a sucker punch straight at the boss—only for it to disappear in a wisp of purple mist. My fist slammed into the throne, shattering it into pieces.

I quickly scanned the room.

The boss had reappeared a short distance away, already summoning more goblins—this time archers.

Twang!

An arrow whistled through the air, too fast to dodge.

-38 HP (237/275)

I gritted my teeth as pain flared from my shoulder, the arrow lodged deep. Without hesitation, I ripped it out, blood dripping onto the arena floor.

[Shadow Daggers]

Dark blades materialized and shot toward the newly summoned goblins, impaling them instantly.

The boss tried to teleport again.

Not this time.

I unleashed another [Magic Missile], the projectile streaking across the battlefield and slamming into the goblin boss.

(62/100 HP)

Half its health was gone in a single hit.

I rushed forward, catching it off guard, grabbing it by its scrawny throat.

Then I started punching.

Over.

And over.

Each blow deformed its face further, blood—a deep purple liquid—coating my fists.

One last punch.

Critical Hit!

-1000 Damage (0/100 HP)

The boss collapsed, its body dissolving into dust beneath my relentless assault.

Level up!

As I collected my loot, the world around me shifted. In a blink, I was back at the starting area of the dungeon.

[After defeating every boss, the dungeon resets. Do you wish to continue?]

I grinned.

Of course, I wanted to continue.

Without hesitation, I re-entered the dungeon, slaughtering every goblin in sight.

I was going to maximize my gains.

-later-

As a portal appeared in his apartment, Izana stepped through and immediately collapsed onto his bed.

The room was dark, the only sound being his own breathing.

How long was I gone?

Reaching for his phone, he checked the time.

Seven hours had passed.

Well, fuck.

Tomorrow, his training would continue.

Another rewrite of one of my Spanish fanfic [el primer jugador explorando el Multiverso] as slow as a chance. As it is anyone reading this. This does not mean I'm rewriting the original. This is just the English version and an improve version since I do want to modify a lot of the things I did in the original. The original already had necromancy and Umbramancer have done and level 80 from the first fucking chapter. Hope you guys enjoy it.
