Chapter 80: Chapter 80: I Wonder Who the Unlucky One Will Be
Looking at the adorable Diancie blinking up at him, Ryo couldn't help but feel his heart race with excitement.
A smile appeared on his lips as he responded, "Diancie, welcome to this world."
Hearing his words, Diancie's cute little face lit up with a smile as well.
"Ahhh!"
Suddenly, Cynthia let out a sharp squeal, her eyes trembling in disbelief.
"Di... Diancie! It's really Diancie! This is amazing—it's actually real!"
The sudden outburst startled both Ryo and Diancie.
Ryo's mouth twitched. He really wanted to ask Cynthia what she meant by that.
Did she not believe him before? Why was she saying something like this now?
But Cynthia wasn't paying him any attention. Instead, after noticing Diancie's startled expression, she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, Diancie! I didn't mean to scare you!"
Diancie shook her head with a gentle smile. "It's fine. I don't mind."
Cynthia nodded enthusiastically. "Thank you, Diancie! Come on, let's get you cleaned up."
Diancie responded with a polite, "Thank you!"
And just like that, the two of them strolled away as if they owned the place, leaving behind a very bewildered Ryo.
Standing there, Ryo frowned slightly, watching Cynthia disappear. "Diancie is my Pokémon... right? Yeah, I'm pretty sure she is!"
Realizing this, he quickly hurried after them, still completely speechless about what had just happened.
Behind him, Gardevoir watched the whole scene unfold, hearing Ryo's muttering and seeing his dumbfounded expression. With a helpless shake of her head, she silently followed after them.

Inside the Cabin's Main Hall
Cynthia sat there beaming as she hugged Diancie tightly, her eyes nearly closed from smiling so hard.
Meanwhile, Ryo sat beside her, his mouth twitching as he said, "Cynthia, don't you think you're going a bit overboard? I'm the actual owner of Diancie, you know?"
Seriously, he hadn't even held Diancie yet!
Hearing this, Cynthia's smile faded as she pouted, tilting her head toward Ryo.
"Wow, aren't you stingy? Can't I at least hug her for a bit?"
Ryo didn't even know how to respond.
Was this just a hug?
It was her expression that was the problem—it looked like she was about to devour Diancie!
Could she not see that Diancie looked genuinely nervous?
"Hmph! Stop making excuses. You need to calm down a little."
Ryo swiftly snatched Diancie from Cynthia's arms as he spoke.
Then he grinned, turning his gaze to Diancie.
Of course, this wasn't because he wanted to hug her himself.
He was just trying to keep Diancie from feeling uncomfortable.
Yes, that was it.
Totally.
Cynthia's eye twitched. He was acting like he was above all this, but wasn't he just as bad?
And look at him now—his eyes were practically glowing with excitement!
The anticipation was written all over his face!
Cynthia sighed, but before she could say anything, a system panel appeared before Ryo.
[Diancie]
Gender: Female
Category: Jewel Pokémon
Type: Rock/Fairy
Ability: Clear Body (Prevents stats from being lowered by enemy moves or abilities.)
Level: 1 (Academy Rookie)
Moveset: Tackle, Harden, Rock Throw, Earth Power, Magnet Rise...
Seeing this, Ryo's excitement skyrocketed.
Diancie was only Level 1, but she already had seven moves!
That was more than his Espeon had at Level 40!
But after the initial excitement, a thought struck him.
Ryo immediately contacted the system in his mind.
"System, is the only difference between Mythical Pokémon and regular Pokémon just having more moves?"
The system responded:
『Mythical Pokémon level up significantly faster than ordinary Pokémon. Their physical capabilities far surpass regular ones, allowing them to fight above their level.』
Hearing this, Ryo nodded, his gaze on Diancie turning even more intense.
Noticing his burning stare, Diancie fidgeted uncomfortably, unsure where to place her tiny hands. Her face turned pink with embarrassment.
"S-Small Ryo... W-Why are you looking at me like that?"
Seeing her flustered expression, Ryo chuckled softly, shaking his head.
"It's nothing. I just didn't expect you to be so strong."
Diancie immediately waved her hands frantically, blushing even harder.
"N-No... I'm not that strong..."
Watching her adorable reaction, Ryo decided not to tease her any further. Instead, he turned to look at Cynthia.
Only to realize that she was staring intensely at Diancie, completely ignoring everything else.
"Ahem—"
Ryo cleared his throat loudly.
"Alright, that's enough. It's not like you won't see her again. Starting tomorrow, you'll be the one training Diancie. You'll have plenty of time with her."
"Hm?"
Cynthia's eyes lit up instantly.
"Really?"
For some reason, at that moment, Ryo suddenly felt a little sorry for Espeon.
Both were his Pokémon, yet the difference in treatment was way too obvious.
When he asked Cynthia to train Espeon, she had looked so reluctant.
But the moment Diancie was involved, she lit up like a Christmas tree!
Thankfully, Espeon wasn't around to see this. Otherwise, the poor thing would probably suffer an existential crisis.
"Yeah, really. I don't even know how to train Pokémon properly."
"Leave it to me!" Cynthia practically jumped out of her seat, her eyes sparkling.
"Ryo, I promise I'll train her properly. You won't be disappointed!"
Ryo nodded and didn't press the issue further. Instead, he curiously asked Cynthia, "By the way, when you got back earlier, you said that if I didn't stock up on more ice cream, I shouldn't bother asking for your help again. What happened?"
Cynthia froze for a moment, looking confused. "Did I say that?"
Ryo's mouth twitched as he rolled his eyes. "Yes, you did!"
"But why don't I remember saying that?"
Cynthia furrowed her brows, appearing deep in thought.
Ryo rubbed his temples. "Alright, let's set that aside for now. Just tell me what happened."
He was a little worried—had something happened to the Pokémon in the back mountain?
Hearing his concern, Cynthia didn't dwell on it further. Instead, her face turned slightly annoyed as she huffed, "Ryo, you really need to do something about that Deino of yours. It's way too mischievous!"
"Hmm?"
Ryo raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? Did it bully other Pokémon?"
Cynthia shook her head. "No, not exactly."
Ryo was even more confused now. "Then what happened?"
Cynthia remained silent for a moment, her face turning red.
Seeing this reaction, Ryo turned to Gardevoir. "Gardevoir, what exactly happened?"
Gardevoir hesitated before finally speaking, her own face starting to flush. "Deino... attacked Cynthia's... um... her..."
She trailed off, too embarrassed to finish the sentence.
Ryo was getting impatient. "Come on, don't leave it hanging!"
After a second, he seemed to realize something. His gaze subtly drifted to a certain part of Cynthia's body.
Cynthia instantly noticed his look and glared at him. "What are you staring at?! It's exactly what you're thinking! That Deino needs proper discipline!"
Ryo nodded, trying to suppress his laughter.
At the same time, he was a little speechless.
He had been lucky enough to obtain two pseudo-legendary Pokémon, yet one of them turned out to be this much of a troublemaker.
Now, he couldn't help but wonder—who would be the poor unlucky soul that ended up catching this Deino in the future?
