Lemu age, as usual, was a hard thing to pin down. His physical age, appearance, and spiritual age all seemed to belong to entirely different timelines.

Alice tilted her head slightly, her curiosity piqued.

"Are you here with your family? This doesn't seem like the kind of place someone your age would come alone."

Her words carried a mix of genuine curiosity and amusement. The fundraiser gala, after all, wasn't just about donations—it was primarily a networking event, a venue for people from different industries to connect and build relationships. Networking was the real currency in these circles.

Though younger attendees weren't unheard of, they typically dressed to appear older and more mature, blending in seamlessly with the older crowd.

Lemu, on the other hand, looked like a high schooler, sticking out like a sore thumb among the well-dressed elites.

"Kind of," Lemu replied, nonchalantly. "I came with someone else. I'd been at home for too long, so I decided to step out for a bit. Turns out this place is really boring, so I went outside to look around."

Alice covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes sparkling with a trace of mischief.

"And then you managed to get lost within a hundred meters?" she teased, her tone light and playful.

Lemu's eyes wavered for just a split second, but he quickly composed himself, meeting Alice's gaze with a look of clarity and righteousness.

"Some people are just born bad with directions, and I happen to be one of them. It's really frustrating, but what can I do?"

Alice tilted her head skeptically but decided to humor him.

"Fine, I'll accept that. But why not visit someplace more fun, like an amusement park? That would probably be more interesting."

Lemu nodded in agreement, his tone serious as if he'd been pondering the same thing.

"I've thought about that too. I've always wanted to go to an amusement park or a zoo, maybe ride a roller coaster or see some lions and tigers. It sounds fun."

For a moment, his expression was full of hope, but it was quickly replaced by a hint of hesitation.

"But… there's no one to go with me." He paused, his voice growing softer. "If I ever get the chance, could I invite you to go with me?"

The loneliness in his words was almost palpable, tugging at the heartstrings.

Alice felt her chest tighten, as if she were watching a child sitting all alone in a quiet house—no friends to play with, family too busy to spend time together.

"Of course," she said softly, her voice warm and reassuring. "But do you know how to reach me?"

Lemu blinked, then gave a small, sly smile. "I do. I know you know how to tell me."

Alice chuckled, her smile carrying a touch of indulgence.

"Fine, you win. My phone number is 1**********. Remember it, okay?"

Just as Lemu and Alice were beginning to enjoy their conversation, a middle-aged gentleman with a receding hairline quietly approached them.

The man stood beside Lemu, a polite, warm smile on his face.

"Mr. Echeberr—"

Before he could finish, Lemu turned his head sharply.

His face still carried a smile, but his eyes were ice-cold, like a blade slicing straight into the man's composure.

Who's the idiot who dares interrupt me right now?

"Hello. Can I help you with something?" Lemu's voice was calm, but the tension in the air was unmistakable.

The man flinched visibly, a shiver running down his spine. Goosebumps erupted along his arms, and cold sweat trickled down his back.

In that moment, his years of experience as an agent screamed a single warning: This is not a normal individual. This is someone extremely dangerous.

The man took a deep breath, forcing himself to suppress his instinctive fight-or-flight reaction. Maintaining his polite smile, he replied,

"…I'm Agent Coulson, from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division." He paused briefly, gauging Lemu's reaction before continuing.

"I'd like to consult with you about Tony Stark. If you're available, could we have a quick chat?"

Lemu raised an eyebrow at the mention of Coulson's name, taking a moment to scrutinize the man more closely. The large, familiar face, paired with a highly recognizable hairline, matched exactly with the Phil Coulson he remembered.

Meanwhile, at Stark's Mansion…

In the underground workshop, Tony Stark was hunched over a holographic projection, tinkering away at one of his latest projects.

His Mark II suit was already complete, and the Mark III, upgraded with gold-titanium alloy, was fully operational as well. For once, however, he wasn't off gallivanting with questionable company.

Instead, Stark was diligently working on a reusable laser cutter.

Unfortunately, the design still had several technical hurdles, and the device was far from achieving the ideal power output he envisioned.

As he absentmindedly manipulated the holographic model, disassembling and reassembling components, he called out,

"Jarvis, call Lemu down here, will you? I've hit a small snag, and I think he might be able to—"

"Apologies, sir," Jarvis interjected, "but Mr. Echeverria is currently unavailable."

Stark froze mid-motion, staring at the projection with visible confusion.

"Unavailable?"

How?

That homebody, who practically lived in his workshop, working on blueprints twenty-five hours a day, had actually gone out?

"Where did he go? That doesn't make any sense."

"Records indicate that Mr. Echeverria accompanied Miss Potts to attend the Third Stark Military Family Fundraiser Gala at the Disney Concert Hall."

Still absorbed in his holographic projection, Stark dismantled and reassembled a crystal model while muttering, "Didn't even mention it over lunch… And why wasn't I invited? It's my gala."

"Records indicate no formal invitation was sent to you, sir."

Stark immediately stopped what he was doing, his fingers hovering mid-air, clearly offended.

"Excuse me? My gala, and I wasn't invited? That's not just unreasonable—it's ridiculous. Isn't it, Jarvis?"

"Undeniably, sir. You are always correct."
