The day after Vanessa's rejuvenation, I got a call from Daniel with the news that he was going out of town to visit his sick grandmother, who was his father's mother. Luckily nothing dangerous. We ended up having to postpone our plans to get together indefinitely.

There was a lull on all fronts at the moment. Surprisingly so. The base was slowly being built. Soon I planned to start creating Anomalies to increase the inflow of Light. Things were going well at the university and the company. I was worried about the strange man I'd seen on the roof of the building, about Ruki's future plans, and about Essex's inaction. 

Thinking of the latter, the image of Gerda immediately came to mind. Now that I had a little bit of Stark and the rest of my business sorted out, I could think about the girl in peace. What I saw in her memories shocked me. You have to give Gerda's mental fortitude a lot of credit. After what she had been through, to get away with only unconventional behaviour was quite dignified. I, of course, assumed that her cockroaches did not just appear, but my fantasy did not reach the reality. Knowing about her past made her attitude to everything clearer to me, along with her phrase about what friendship was to her. And I myself realised how I felt about the girl. I could say that I had to relive the past with her, at the expense of which I could not treat Gerda as I had done before. 

And as soon as she was fully recovered, I teleported to her room after a preliminary call. There were several people throughout the mansion, but the elder Wright was not to be felt. Gerda herself was holding the phone I'd called and looking at me with her trademark smile. No, the smile was softer. Definitely. That was nice.

- Hello Kyle," the girl greeted me, stepping closer. - How nice to see you after so many days of dreadful boredom.

- Hello. Yes, and I'm glad to meet you," I told her, closing the distance and hugging her gently. - How are you?

- Much better," Gerda replied, surprised at my impulse, but hugging me back.

- Well, that's good. How is E.G.O.? I'm not mistaken, and you tested it well? - I asked her, pulling away and sitting down on the couch.

- You're right. The potential of the power called E.G.O. is unimaginable. I trained with my mother. And I even managed to win for the first time! - Gerda said happily. - And what a funny face my mum had then, I can't tell you! 

- I wish I could see it.

- What can a red gorilla do? Ahem, just red," Gerda corrected herself when she saw me frown.

- And when will you get bored? - I asked rhetorically. - I thought you'd calmed down by now.

- Ni-ko-never, - slowly and tastefully said the girl, and then frowned and continued. - And I can't forgive her for being the first.

- What was that for? - I asked, however, suspecting what was the matter.

- It doesn't matter. You'd better answer my question.

- Why don't you let her tell me? I wouldn't want to divulge someone else's secrets. 

- Well, I won't argue with you. But I have a rough idea of what it's like to fight her. Except she can't beat me now. The odds are too stacked against her," Gerda said proudly.

- Hmm, I don't mind your fighting. But only with all precautions. So, what to teleport Aki?

- Wait a little while. I'd like to tell you about a wish that burns in my soul," the girl said seriously, sitting closer to me. I nodded, after which Gerda continued. - You know that I got my second mutation after the Essex experiments. And for a long time I hated my eyes for that. But it was because of them that I was lucky enough to spot you. It's ironic that the ability I hated so much allowed me to meet a friend and... Before we met, I would have lost my eyesight and telekinesis just to turn things around. But now I don't feel that way anymore. I also realised that if I had feelings, I shouldn't suppress them. Until that unfortunate night, I was afraid to admit it. To admit that I love you as a boyfriend, Kyle.

- And now you're not afraid? - I asked the girl who'd been sitting up straight and unmoving since the beginning of her monologue.- Maybe even more than before," Gerda admitted, watching my reaction carefully. - But at the same time, a determination grew in me to carry my desire forward. 

- I think I understand you. You know, when we met, I thought you were a very strange girl," I said with a nostalgic smile to the tense Gerda. - But later I realised that it was only a shell for a very fragile content. Gradually my attitude towards you changed from wary to friendly. And after watching the memories, I recently realised that I love you too, Gerda. And I think we should do this to prove my feelings.

Having said that, I moved over to the delighted girl, hugging her and kissing her. At that moment her lips tasted of black tea with something tart. For the first time we didn't kiss until we were blue in the face and after half a minute we separated our lips. The blushing girl was trying to catch her breath, while I was just admiring her. This went on for some time, until Gerda spoke.

- Are you going to be my boyfriend now? - she asked touchingly. M-cute.

- Do you want to? - I jokingly answered a question with a question. 

- Naturally! - Gerda replied with a frown, tapping me lightly with her fist.

- Well, if so, then I will. Only first I must tell you something ...

For the next ten minutes I told the truth about myself. The girl was certainly very surprised, but later she admitted that she now understands some of the oddities of my behaviour. When asked if she needed such a guy, Gerda proudly declared that I did not even try to get rid of her.

- I just need to tell Aki about the expansion of our small and friendly family. And talk her into it.

- I'd like to see her face at this moment," Gerda said snidely, resting her head on my shoulder and her palm on my chest. - And don't worry, I'll persuade the red one.

- Then let me call her now and we'll talk about everything together, - I suggested, already taking out my phone.

Wrapping her arms around my neck, Gerda kissed me, putting all her feelings into it. She was more active now than she had been the first time. After calming down after about a minute, the girl pulled back, watching me with eyes burning with emotion.

- Okay," I agreed, dialling my first girlfriend's number. - Hi Aki. You're not busy right now? Oh, that's good! I'd like to take you somewhere. Is that okay with you? And we can try some of your baked goods. Okay, I'll jump right in.

- Her pastries? - Gerda asked, raising an aristocratic eyebrow. - How was it?

- It's delicious. 

- I never would have thought it," said the girl, surprised. - It's not for nothing, they say, looks can be deceiving.

- I was surprised myself. Why don't you make some tea? Aki's pastries would be something to savour.

- Whatever you say, Kyle.

- All right.

The girl began to perform the sacred act called brewing tea, and I teleported to Igarashi's house. Aki instantly sensed me and came out of the kitchen, wiping her wet hands.

- 'Hi again,' I said, hugging the girl.

- Hi..." she replied, squeezing me in a steel hug at the same time, but she frowned and started sniffing me. When she was done, Aki looked at me with a commissar's squint. - So, who is she? Don't tell me she's a black otter.

- Ha-ha-ha! You have a great sense of smell," I said neutrally.

- Ugh! I knew this would happen sooner or later! - Aki said, letting go of me and crossing her arms under her chest.

- I don't even know what to say to you.

- Okay, it doesn't matter," the girl exhaled tiredly. - The main thing is that I'm your first girlfriend.

- Maybe the three of us should talk about it.

- What's going to happen is going to happen. I'll just get some biscuits and change.

Aki was done in a few minutes and then we teleported to Gerda's room. She had already made tea for three people and was waiting for us, judging by her emotions she was a bit nervous.

- That's right Kyle," Gerda agreed, nodding her head. 

- Great," I interrupted them, stopping them from talking through my teeth. - Then let's talk about our future. Aki I hope you don't mind that Gerda will join our small cell of society? Due to the events that have happened, I realised that I have strong feelings for her, that's why I've called you in, to resolve the matter.

- And if I don't want to? - The girl asked with a squint.

Even though in this world men could have several women at a time, it was not possible to simply inform them about the appearance of a new one. It was necessary to get approval from each of them and then expand the family. Even alphas tried not to disregard this rule, coming from the depths of time, because it was fraught. - This is different from kissing Kyle," Aki said, blushing.

- I can attest to that," Gerda agreed, trying to look nonchalant. It wasn't working very well.

- Are we done now? - I asked.

- That's it," Aki confirmed, calming down and sitting down next to me. - And by the way, I'll be the eldest wife

- What a silly thing to say," Gerda said dismissively. - It is obvious even to fools that I am the best candidate for such a role. Besides, I am stronger.

- Well, well. And I'm prettier," Aki said, grinning.

- And I'm smarter.

- And I'm faster.

- I'm more graceful. 

- And I have bigger breasts," Aki gave what looked like an ultimatum argument, judging by the satisfied look on her face. She folded her arms under her upper nineties, further enhancing her advantages.

- That's enough! - I said, stopping Gerda from continuing this stupid argument. - You're both beautiful and strong and smart and everything else too. And you both have normal breasts. Just... Different. Okay?

- Yes, yes," Aki agreed, barely holding back a laugh. Gerda, on the other hand, could barely contain herself from using telekinesis.

- Good. Now, if you want to, we can spar.

- Finally!" Aki exclaimed happily and turned to the brunette. - Gerda, where do you have a suitable place?

After walking through the intricacies of corridors and rooms, we found ourselves in a spacious room, which was heavily fortified. There were a lot of mannequins made of various materials with traces of destructive influence.

- Are you ready to fall down before my invincible power? - With a smile of superiority asked Gerda, standing in the middle of the improvised arena and showing E.G.O.. She stood completely relaxed, folding her arms on her chest and standing half sideways to her opponent.

- There's more! I'm going to win today! - Aki declared as she put on her girdles and armour. - Kai, count!

- On the count of three. One. Two. Tr!..

- Saw, saw, saw!

- Hm, wait a bit, I have an important call, - said to the already prepared girls, looking at the display of the phone.

- What good timing! - Aki half-voiced indignantly, her arms at her sides.

- Hello? Is something wrong Mr Long?

- Yes, boss. We've got a problem here. We need your presence,' said one of my subordinates who had signed the Contract.

- There you go. I'll be right there. 

- Something wrong? - Gerda asked, coming closer.

- Yes. I have to go out. Don't start without me.

- Oh, come on. It's like we're little kids! - Aki exclaimed angrily. - Don't you think we can't stop in time?!

- It's just that I'll be calmer this way, - honestly answered the girls, adjusting for teleportation. - I don't want you to get hurt. So please wait for me.

Aki calmed down after my words and nodded in agreement, while Gerda smiled contentedly.

I, on the other hand, teleported to the building where John Long was located. Here was one of the bases, which was equipped almost immediately after the creation of the organisation Refraction. There was no serious equipment here, but if there was a problem, it had to be solved quickly, and without noise and dust. 

Seeing Long himself, who was in charge here, I immediately turned to him:

- "What's the matter? 

- There are some bandits here. Probably from the Aryan Brotherhood," replied the man. He was a little taller than me, had blond hair, green eyes, a stern, smile-less face, and a wiry build. - They say it's their neighbourhood and demand payment from us after they've inspected the base.

- They'll be fine. But how did they know about this place? Did one of ours get a screw loose? - I asked about the most important thing.

- I doubt it, boss," John said. - That's why I didn't do anything with them to find out what it was all about.- Then let's go. We'll sort it out.

The man nodded and walked briskly to the back exit of the building. At that moment, I changed my appearance with an illusion. There was no reason to show my face in front of anyone I didn't know. On the way, John signalled his subordinates to be ready for battle. They immediately ran to get comfortable places in case the firefight would start. And I could hear those guys coming a dozen metres away.

- I'm telling you for the last time! If you don't let us in now, I'll put a bullet in your head! Do you understand, sheep?! - a rough male voice asked in a raised tone.

- I can't let you in without an order from my superior, - answered a slightly hoarse, tired female voice.

- I'll get you now!...

- What's going on here? - I asked a question already, having left the base building and observing an interesting picture.

Opposite my two people stood five women and three men with not too law-abiding appearance. All white and with tattoos that were visible from under their clothes, containing swastikas, eagles and other infamous symbols.

- Are you the one in charge here? - asked through his lip the biggest man of the rabble, with a bald head and a lopsided moustache.

- I am," he replied in a similar tone. - What's next?

- What the fuck are you doing in our territory?! What's more, you didn't inform us and you didn't pay us! - threateningly accused the bandit, slowly advancing on me. - We are the White Circle!

- I don't care who you are," I interrupted, looking at my watch. - You have one minute to tell me how you know about this place. If you don't, you're not getting out of here. Time's up.

The bandits were, to put it mildly, aghast and tense. Everyone exchanged suspicious glances. A massacre began... No, that's another story. The leader of these supporters of white power turned purple, glared at me for five seconds and tried to pull out his gun. Exactly, that he tried, because I imitated telekinesis with the help of Pluto's power, grabbing all eight of them at once with materialised energy. And gagged them at the same time.

- I guess you don't want to talk. Okay, we'll find out for ourselves," I said, and dragged them inside the building. - Check the neighbourhood for their buddies or any other curious subjects.

- We'll do that," John said, and started issuing commands.

I went to the room where the experience extractors were. If the bandits don't tell me everything, I'll use these devices. When we led these true Aryans through the base, they saw a picture of people with a lot of weapons, who were ready to slaughter them at any moment. After that, they were even whiter than before. I guess they realised what a stupid thing they'd done. 

- So, are we going to talk or not? - I asked the leader when we got to the place. Having seated everyone in the chairs brought by my subordinates, I continued. - Of course, I can use special equipment, but since I'm here, I'd like to listen to you.

- Who the hell are you people?! We're under the Liberation Army! If you don't let us go right now.

- If you don't let us go right now, we'll get away with it," I interrupted him boredly. - Listen, my Nazi pie, do you really think that after what you've seen you'll just walk out of here? If you do, you're a fool.

- I told Sam this case was a rotten one," one of the dark-haired women wheezed. The rest of the bandits sat silent. - I told you! But you didn't fucking listen!

- That's right!" I said, letting out a little aura of horror as this circus had to end. - You should have listened to your mate Sami. Anyway, either you tell me quickly yourself, in a minute, or I'll get the memories out of you, albeit over a longer period of time. What kind of mood do you think I'll be in after that?

- And then? Are you going to finish us off? - A tense Sam asked.

- Depends on your honesty. And if you're lying, I won't give you a second chance.

- It happened the day before yesterday.

If you leave out the unnecessary details, it's a very strange picture. On Monday, a drug addict came to him and asked for a few doses for information about some strange guys who had settled in his territory. When asked how she got the information, the woman said she just overheard conversations and followed my subordinates. Long frowned when he heard this and said we needed to find the junkie, which I completely agreed with.

In the end, Sam gave the requested doses to the woman (what an honest man, though) and, after preparation, came here. When I asked him how he could be so brazen with some unknown type, the man hesitated, and a husky brunette answered instead.

- He likes money too much," the woman said. - Besides, he thinks that his mates from the AO will cover us in case of trouble for a share. And there are certain rules. If you set up in our territory, you pay. And for this kind of screw-up, it's a big percentage. Besides, that bitch said you've been bringing a lot of expensive-looking stuff back to your base. That's why Sam got on the case. That's what I was saying.

- I know what I said," I interrupted her. - I don't care what your rules are. Okay, what am I supposed to do with you guys?- They know too much and they're bound to blab if they get the chance. No man, no problem,' said John, staying close to me the whole time. - Then we just destroy the bodies. No-one's going to cry over this scum. They've got so many ruined lives, there's no place to brand them. There may be problems with the disappearance of so many people, but it's better than tales of what we've seen.

The bandits did not agree to such a proposal and began to beg, scream, plead and try to get out of my grip. Naturally they failed. 

- Silence! - I shouted, hitting them hard with my aura of terror. After waiting for them to be quiet, I continued. - Here's the deal. You have two options. The first is the one my subordinate suggested. The second, you agree to certain conditions that will bind us in a magical oath. If you break the terms, I can do anything to you, from death to unimaginable torment. Which do you choose?

- Two! - The talkative brunette answered at once. The others followed suit.

In the end, I signed Contracts with all of them, forbidding them to harm me or tell me what they had seen. At the same time, I ordered my subordinates to find the junkie and interrogate her. For this purpose, I pulled out memories from the bandits, with the help of which I managed to find out the approximate location of the woman and her appearance.

He gave out instructions and went to the girls. Fortunately, they had already calmed down and were eating Aki's chocolate biscuits and drinking tea like true aristocrats. Good thing at least they left me a portion, which I happily munched on.

The next few days were very hectic. We found a junkie named Ashley. Except she didn't see it herself. She was told by an unknown brunette woman on one of my less than perfect days. Claiming that if she gave the information to the gangsters, she could get the dope. And she explained how and what to say. Ashley happily agreed and raced over to Sam's house. We tried to pull memories from the junkie, but we didn't see anything. The brunette was a blur, with an unreadable appearance and voice. Ashley couldn't really tell us anything. And that made me pretty tense. Who is she? Who does she work for, and does she work for anyone? There were a lot of questions, but no answers.

I had to use all my resources and connections, which so far had been scarce to find this woman. Alas and alack, even Benjamin couldn't find anything, no matter how hard he tried. I had to leave it alone for now, which was stressful.

Once again, I had to postpone my date with Aki and chatting with Gerda. Luckily the girls realised that I wasn't willingly stitching myself up right now. Oh, and all the preparations were necessary, including helping with their revenge.

In the meantime, I slowly got all the information on the Warp Corporation's Singularities and started thinking about what to get next. I wanted it all at once. And then I remembered something interesting. A Yonsim, a bridge that connects hearts or something. This thing gave me the ability to see Mirror (aka parallel) worlds and even interact with them. I wondered what was going on in other realities. Besides, maybe I could adopt something from there.

I got the technology itself in just a week and a half. I had to build the first device some time before the five of us met. Dan had just returned to New York and called me. At this meeting, I wanted to demonstrate Yonsim to everyone and invite Daniel to join my team to save the world. 

Nothing got in our way this time and we were able to meet at my house. We set up in the courtyard in the evening, enjoying food, drinks and coolness. I must say, the guys weren't too surprised by the change in my relationship with the girls. They were grinning at me, too, the jerks. Dan was the life of the party, as always. He told jokes and just interesting stories, making us laugh. And of course, jokingly arguing with Gerda about the greatness of coffee.

- ...you just haven't tasted it! You'll see, once you taste real coffee, you'll dislike tea forever! - Daniel said with an infectious smile.

- That's rubbish. It won't happen until the rivers flow back and the sky collapses on the earth," Gerda said flatly, sitting proudly on her chair as if on a throne.

- Are you talking about that again? - Aki asked with a grin. - It's just water with additives.

- It's not just water with additives! - Gerda and Danielle exclaimed in one voice. While the former was outraged to the core, the latter spoke reproachfully. Aki rolled her eyes at this cry of the soul.

- At least you're on the same page about something," said Benji, who had been sitting quietly trying not to laugh the whole time. - That's good.

- Let's argue later," he interrupted, not letting them continue the argument. - Let's talk about something more important.

- What's that? What could be more important than a fine black tea? - Gerda asked in surprise.

- I would rephrase it this way. What could be more important than a cup of coffee? - Dan kept up with the girl.

- Helping mankind, - answered them.- I'm intrigued," Daniel said with genuine curiosity, stepping forward. 

- Hmm," Gerda said succinctly, expressing her opinion about the importance of humanity compared to tea.

- You see, Den, I happen to have the opportunity to....

For about half an hour I explained my idea in detail. At the same time, I told them about my other-worldly origins. The guys were very surprised by this fact. They were also amazed, like my previous listeners, that in my first life there was no problem with the sexes. Daniel and Benjamin bombarded me with questions, trying to find out interesting points. After finishing my story, my second friend in this world thought for a while, and everyone else ate in silence, letting him make a decision. It didn't last long though.

- Kyle I want to help you in this case. Even the moment we ran into that machine-girl, I wanted to repay you for saving me. And if it helps make the world a better place, then all my wishes come true at once. That's why I'm with you, Kyle. I can't do much to help," Dan said sadly.

- Don't worry about that," he interrupted the boy with a smile. - I can give you some of my power and then awaken you. 

- Come on! - exclaimed the boy impatiently.

- Wait a little while. Since it's going to be a long process, let me show you a trick to keep the guys entertained.

- Kai, it's not like Dan is emotionally broken," Aki remarked, chewing on a piece of meat. - How are you going to wake him up to E.G.O.?

- I can't say it'll be easy, but with my E.G.O. I can extract it. I have a lot more Light and skill now, so it'll be safer. It will take a long time though," I explained to the guys.

I considered using Light on each of my subordinates and embodying the power of their minds, but I quickly abandoned it. It would take too much time and effort for such a feint with my ears. If I could do it for a friend who would be an important supporter of mine, I couldn't do it for someone not so close to me. It's easier to equip them with augmentics, genetic modifications and better weapons. You can equip someone more serious with books like mine. But if you find someone with a strong will and great potential, you can try to awaken the E.G.O..

- Hey, that's cheating! - Aki exclaimed with feigned indignation. - And we had to sweat to awaken our power.

- I agree," Gerda supported her, sipping her tea. 

- I didn't have much Light and skill at that moment," she replied, looking at Daniel, who was embarrassed. - Besides, time was running out.

- Come on, I get it," the girl trailed off. - It was just a joke.

- And I decided to make it clear just in case, so that no one would take offence and think too much," he told her. - It's okay. Dan said, what about you Gerda, Aki and Ben?

- I already told you that I will help you in any way I can, - the guy immediately replied. - My wish hasn't changed.

- Heh, can I leave you dude? - Aki asked, grinning toothily, clapping me on the shoulder with the force of a jackhammer. - Don't even think about it! You owe me a date at least.

- Not that I'm eager to save people, but I still have to help my lover in his labours," Gerda said and took a sip of tea, partially covering her face with the cup.

- I am very glad of that," I said sincerely, glancing round at the boys and girls. - I'll do my best to make sure you don't regret your choice. Now we must awaken E.G.O. Denu. And this is an item to brighten your wait.

Next, I teleported a palm-sized cube to me. It was the Yonsim that could display parallel worlds. While I explained how the device worked, I began transmitting the Light to Dan. It didn't require much concentration, so I decided not to waste any time.

Before I could tell him about Yonsim and pump energy into him, I felt a source of powerful energy not far from the mansion. Using my clairvoyance, I saw a lot of people in red ninja clothes, commanded by a man I had detected. He was also the man I saw on the rooftops. Found him. And in the ranks of the Hand. "It couldn't have been better. And the number of ninjas was only growing, surrounding what I felt was the entire mansion.

- Okay, guys, get inside the house quickly and alert the guards to the intruder. Tell them it's code three. Go, go, go! - I hurried my bewildered friends.

- What? What intrusion? - Aki asked, tensing up.

- I'm not a sissy girl to run away from some Hand either," Gerda said calmly, pouring herself another drink.

- I can fight, too! - Benjamin said, adjusting his glasses.

- No, you and Dan go inside! - I said. - And don't argue! You bastard!

While I was arguing with my friends, the ninjas were a few dozen metres away. They wouldn't come any closer. We stood still, waiting for the assassins' next move. And it came when the ranks of the invaders parted, letting in a tall man dressed in a two-piece suit and holding a katana. He had long black hair, red eyes that burned in the dark, and a narrow, straight face with pale skin. And then there was the power. It just poured out of him, overwhelming.

- Hello, Kyle Smith, Akiko Igarashi and their friends," he said in a cheerful tone. - You've grown up to be a real beauty, Igarashi's daughter. Who would have thought that little girl could grow up to be so beautiful? Though, considering the heredity, I shouldn't be surprised.
