I went to Stone's after lunch, having prepared everything at home beforehand. Diana drove me. Telling her to wait, I knocked on the front door. Anna opened it a minute later, looking at me with interest.

- Good afternoon, Miss Stone," I greeted her with a smile.

- Good..." the woman replied with a hesitation. - Kyle Smith, I believe?

- That's right. I'm from a mutual acquaintance of ours. Shall we go inside?

- Huh? Yeah, right. Please," Anna murmured as she let me inside. Now that I've met her in real life, I can tell you she's a little shorter than my 185 centimetres. - I think we'd better talk in the lounge. Tea, coffee?

- Thank you for the offer, but I've only just had one. As you've already realised, I work for the Boss, or the Head if you like," I composed as I followed the woman into the room. - In the future I plan to create a company dealing with prosthetics and implants for all occasions. And, by the way, it was you who gave me the idea.

- Me? How? - my subordinate asked in bewilderment.

- I saw you as a child and decided when I grow up to do such an important thing.

- That means you... Ahem, you told your Boss about me?

- Yes. Just our boss, not mine.

- Yeah, that's right.

I could sense Stone was nervous, even though he was trying not to show it. I think it's time to get down to the business I'm here for.

- Miss Stone, I've already prepared everything I need for the prosthetic grafts. I think you're anxious to get a decent replacement for your living limbs, so let's go to my house, where we'll perform the operation.

- Okay, but I need to change my clothes and... How long will it last? - The woman asked as she stood up.

- An hour and a half.

Nodding, the woman went into the other room. Fifteen minutes later, after the woman went to the bathroom and got dressed, we got into the car and went to the mansion. Diana chattered away as we drove and even got Stone involved in the conversation. The latter stopped being nervous at the end and even occasionally laughed at my driver's jokes.

We arrived in high spirits. I took Anna to my basement, where I put her in the sarcophagus. The implantation of the implant to control the prostheses and the fitting of the prostheses themselves took just an hour and a half. As soon as she regained consciousness, I took the chilopnesis and injected an ampoule. The drug healed any remaining trauma to the body fairly quickly. At the same time, I had to personally supervise that the woman did not disappear scars or grow limbs. The former will be removed in a plastic clinic, but the latter raises a lot of questions. The limbs themselves do not grow back, and the transplanted ones are different from the native ones. Plus, full recovery can take a long time, starting with a few months. And forcing her to stay at home is not part of my plan. Legs aren't even transplanted because of the problems.

With Anna's body back in better shape, the woman could forget about her PTSD. Well, in essence, my duties are almost done, all that's left is to officially register her as a security guard and pay her salary.

- Oh, what's that weird feeling? - Anna moaned after the hylopnesis stopped working.

- 'It's probably not the sensation, but the lack of it,' she replied cheerfully.

- What? Wait, that's right. Nothing hurts! It's like I've gone back in time to when I was healthy! - said the woman disbelievingly, examining herself.

- In a way it is. By the way, can you feel your new limbs?

- Y-yes, but how is that possible?! - Anna asked with a mixture of excitement and joy, touching various objects with her prosthesis. - It's as if it were alive! And it's controlled by a simple wish!

- Through feedback, you will feel everything almost like a healthy limb. This is due to the implant in your head, which is also responsible for controlling the prosthesis.

- F-fabulous!

But Stone didn't stop at the one-arm test. Next, she wanted to test her leg. After jumping around and walking around, she was even more excited. At this time, I told her about the cured body and mind. When I stopped talking, the woman even cried with happiness.

- I-I didn't even hope for this! I had agreed to this yesterday, but I had only hoped for a slight improvement in my condition and a chance to occupy myself! You have no idea how grateful I am to you!

She said the last words with all her might while hugging my poor body. If I didn't have Iredzumi, I probably would have been nervous.

- Thank you and the Head! I don't even have enough life to repay you both! - Anna said with tears of joy.

- You're welcome," I replied as I was released from the pleasant captivity. - Now all that's left to do is to get a makeover at a good clinic and the Chapter's obligations will be fulfilled.

- Even what we have is enough! - the woman assured me fervently, wiping away her tears. - Not to feel constant pain and to know that you won't be blown away at any moment is just!.... I can't even put my thoughts into words!

- Commitment is commitment. Well, that's for the future. Right now, we need to talk about the present. Your prosthetic limbs are not just replacements for limbs, they're combat tools. At face value, the one you're wearing is worth four Abrams. That, along with the implant in your head that allows you to control your prosthetics.

After my words, Anna choked on air and took a new look at her artificial limbs. I continued:

- The prosthetic arm has...

It took about ten minutes to explain what her new arm and leg were capable of. Anna spent another ten minutes testing her abilities. Nearly cutting through the sarcophagus with a high-frequency blade. All in all, it was fun.

Next, I told the legend that the woman should stick to. It wasn't much different from reality and was that I was such a genius that I decided to create a company to produce prosthetics and implants. And in doing so, I decided to try out prototypes on Stone. I even had my mother's lawyers draw up a contract that included the woman's consent and everything else legally required. I was obliged to provide the woman with money and a job. But, in fact, this piece of paper is necessary to divert eyes. The only thing the woman had to hide was the real level of technology, the ability to control prosthetic limbs and her sudden recovery. For the latter, perhaps we should ask Ben to clean up Anna's medical history. And at the same time to create or buy a private clinic, where my future subordinates will be served. But that's a future endeavour.

- Well, Miss Stone, you'll be working as my security guard to keep a low profile. In reality, you'll be one of the organisation's security wing.

- And by the way, how many of us are there, if this is not classified information, and what is the name of our organisation? - The woman asked with interest.

The phrase "our organisation" came out of her easily and naturally. Apparently, the healing had strengthened her loyalty. Though considering her past condition, it was not surprising. Anyone would believe.

- Alas, at the moment, we're just forming a staff, so to speak, so the number of people is small. And the organisation itself is called Refraction. Speaking of new associates. Do you have any acquaintances who would be interested in healing with medical insurance, not boring work, decent salary and the opportunity to stand at the origins of changing the world? - Stone asked with a smile.

- Heh, there are. A lot of them. We've got a lot of veterans in this country who've been left at a broken trough. A lot of guys would do anything for an opportunity like this. And I've got a few in mind.

- That's great. Then talk to them about it. But try to do it discreetly. I wouldn't want to start any rumours of a miraculous cure before the time is right.- Naturally, Mr Smith!" said the woman. - I will only speak to those I am sure of. In times of mortal danger, everything comes out of a man that has been hidden until now. And in my years of service I have seen who can be trusted and who cannot.

- That's great! One last thing. Write down where you were treated. I need it to correct your medical history.

- I'll do that.

After waiting for Anna to write down the data, I exchanged phone numbers with her and escorted her to a bored Diana. After instructing the driver to bring my guest back safely, I let the women go.

Perhaps, it can be considered that everything went well. Now it is necessary to accelerate with release from school and creation of at least the first base. In principle, with the latter due to my abilities was no problem. It is only necessary to create the filling of the base. At least generators to provide energy. I would not like to get a check on my head from the puzzled authorities, who want to find people who steal light on an industrial scale. We'll have to buy new materials for that. Even though my universal collector can transmute anything I need, I shouldn't have clogged it up with such nonsense. I'd rather let it do more necessary things.

At school, things were quiet. We had already agreed with the teachers and the principal to take the exams for the remaining classes, and we were about to take them. The only thing was that I was still annoyed by the imperial system of measurement. All those inches, feet, yards, miles, acres, ounces, pounds, pints, gallons, fahrenheits, nine different tonnes. And that's just some of these stupid measures of measurement. Even after 15 years, I'm still not completely used to it. Instead of completely switching to a normal system like the rest of the world, the authorities didn't want to spend the money and effort, and then dealt with it after a while. Subsequently, attempts were made to switch to the metric system, but it is still there. Sometimes there was even a desire to take over the United States just to finally eradicate this relic of the past. A joke, of course, but only partially.

It was good to be able to relax between classes. Like now, when the boys were arguing about their favourite drinks.

- Come on, Benji, what's better: coffee or tea? - Danielle started torturing the boy. Now the white man was just resting, after working on Anna Stone's information.

- We want your opinion," Gerda said regally.

- Benjamin looked at each of his opponents carefully, exhaled doomedly, and replied. - I think I like coffee better. Though I have nothing against tea either.

- Hehehe! First point for me Gerda," Den said with a smile.

- Hmm, we'll see who's happy afterwards. Now, have your say, Kyle. What appeals to your soul more?

- I'm leaning more towards tea. But I can drink coffee, too.

- I wouldn't expect anything else from you," Gerda said, puffing up proudly as if she deserved it.

- Oh, well! What about male solidarity? - asked the boy cheerfully.

- I prefer to tell the truth. And if I have to, I'll be sure to show that solidarity.

- Now we are left with our dear Aki, - Gerda said with a drop of venom in her voice. - Tell us what you prefer.

- ...

But Aki was in her own thoughts and did not hear us.

- Friend, are you with us? - I asked, moving closer.

- Huh? Something happened? - The girl asked confused.

- We are trying to find out, for the umpteenth time, what is better: coffee or tea, - I answered her. - What kind of drink do you prefer?

- ...Sake,'' said her friend aloofly.

- Ha-ha-ha! - I was drinking at that moment and almost spit out all the water in Aki's face. - You're kidding me! Really?!

- I didn't expect something like this," Gerda said discouraged.

- Wow! Why don't you just switch to coffee? - Dan asked in surprise, to Benjamin's nods of agreement.

- Oh! I was just kidding! No kidding! It's funny. Ha-ha-ha! - Aki laughed playfully at the end.

- Yeah? Okay. Then without any weird jokes, what's your favourite drink?

- It's not a weird joke! - Aki objected indignantly. - I like juices. They are good for the body and...

And she went on and on about the importance of juices for the rest of the break. And everything would be all right, but I noticed a few days ago, and later felt, using empathy, that Aki was always immersed in some thoughts, while avoiding me. I'd been trying to find out what was going on for almost a week, but the girl kept saying she was fine. Then I thought of a way to cheer her up.

- Listen, Aki. Remember when you wanted to take a big swing? Well, I'm ready now.

- Huh? Are you serious?

- I couldn't be more serious," I replied with a cheerful chuckle.

- Well, this is unexpected. I thought you'd given up on the idea," said the girl, without much enthusiasm. Well, well, well. I was expecting a burst of excitement and emotion, and she's a bit sluggish.

- So, are you interested or not? Is the great and terrible Aki Crimson Storm not the same as before? - Pathetically asked the girl.

- Aki Crimson Storm is cooler today than she ever was! - Pouting importantly, replied her friend. - By the way, I like that nickname! Call me that from now on bro!

- Whatever you say, O Great One! - making a serious face and trying not to laugh, assured her.

- Well, it's probably best," Aki whispered in a low whisper and continued in a normal voice. - I agree. Tomorrow is Saturday, so we'll fight then! We'll have a day of rest before school.

- Okay. Where and when?

- Look, I found a place the other day.

The next day, at 10 o'clock, I went to a neighbourhood near my old house. As Aki said, there was this abandoned building that no one walks around. As far as I knew, it was considered cursed. But it was perfect for our purpose. The brick walls were covered in graffiti both inside and out. There was trash here and there.

- Yo, Kyle! - A girl greeted me, looking at a drawing and doing some kind of exercise. Apparently to get her body on alert. Good thing I don't need that kind of stuff at the expense of all the gimmicks. U-comfort.

- Hey, Aki.

- So, are you ready? - Dancing with impatience, Aki asked, barely waiting for me to say hello to her.

- Wait a little while. Let's talk terms first.

- You're always so boring! What terms?! We'll just use all our powers! Well, except for my Void. And don't worry, I've been on a healing kick lately and I'll heal you after the fight! - said the girl excitedly.

- Heh, how presumptuous. It's still a question of who's going to heal who. And anyway, if we use all our strength, you'll lose.

- What's that?! You know, I'm no pushover either!

- It's simple. I've recently acquired new powers that you can't beat at the moment. If you're interested, I'll tell you about it later. Besides, there's no point in using E.G.O. against me. I'll just turn it off with my own powers.

- Then what do you do? - Aki asked with a funny wrinkle on her face.

- It's simple. You use everything you can except E.G.O., and I'll turn off the extra boosts except for Iredzumi.

- What? Mascara injection? Do you have any tattoos? - The girl asked interestedly as she came closer.

- Yeah, you'll see now.

At that moment, I unmasked the tattoos and black clouds appeared on my skin. I also almost completely blocked the amplification from the nanomachines, leaving only a slight acceleration of reactions.

- Whoa! You've outdone the Yakuza! - Aki exclaimed in admiration. - They don't tattoo their faces!

I, at that moment, using Pluto's power, created an invisible barrier that would not allow sound and images to pass through. The latter was achieved by using illusion with Light. After that, I switched off all the amplification from the book, otherwise it wouldn't be fair at all. That's it. Now I can take a swipe.

- These tattoos increase my strength, speed and defence. Now by my calculations, we should be about equal.

- Pfft, that's something you only find out in battle!

- And punch with all your might. I'm very strong.

- Are you sure? - My friend asked and, seeing my nod, impatiently continued. - Well, enough of this tongue-twiddling! Ready?!

- I'm ready. Let's go on three.

- Count! - Aki gave the command, standing up, making an intimidating face, and began to emit ki in all directions. It looked like a reddish coloured energy halo around the girl's body. Hmmm, strange, it hadn't happened before. Or was it due to the amount of energy used?

- One... Two... Three!

As soon as I said the last word, the girl rushed at me with Sonic's speed. She attacked with an artless straight punch with her right fist to my chest. Blocking the attack with crossed arms, I was unpleasantly surprised by the power Aki was using. So surprised, in fact, that I flew off the ground and into the wall. The impact seemed to shake the whole building.

- Ha, that's not bad.

- Are you okay in there? - Aki asked worriedly as she came closer. - Xo! I think I overdid it!

- I'm fine," she replied, getting up from her knees and shaking off the brick dust. - I'm alive and well. We can carry on.

- Hmm, you're really strong," the girl said respectfully. - If that's the case, then you can't hold back!

- Did you hold back?

- Yeah!" Aki said with a big smile, baring her fangs. Well, I guess I overestimated myself a bit.

- How did those bitches catch you then? - I grumbled, preparing for a life-and-death battle.

- My mistake. I probably would have had the strength to break them, but it was too sudden," she said with a grim look on her face, but almost immediately she asked indignantly. - Well, who would be prepared for an attack in the loo! Mum would be able to beat the hell out of them in such a situation. I don't have the experience to be constantly vigilant. Plus, after being captured, they did a good job of messing with my energy body, making me weaker for a while. Also, after I got the E.G.O., working with Ki became easier. It's like I've reached some kind of enlightenment or something? I'm stronger now than I was before I was captured, that's it! And stop trying to change the subject! Are you ready to go on or not?!

- Ready, ready. Attack, Miss Ander. I mean Igarashi.

- Whatever you say, Mr Smith! Ora!

This time I was prepared for my friend's strength and speed, and even made allowances for possible increases in those parameters. So I met the next blow by standing firmly on the floor and attacking Aki back. In the end, neither she nor I were able to harm each other in any way. Because of Ki's envelopment, the girl received some sort of Iron Fist defence, which made me feel like I was hitting a piece of steel. Really, the friend couldn't hurt me either. At least not yet.

I tried a leg kick, but got caught in a grapple and went flying straight to the nearest wall. Aki took advantage of that and, shortening the distance, struck where my head had been moments before. There was no desire to take such a spit on my long-suffering brain, so I tried to dodge. And not in vain. The girl broke through the wall without much trouble, and then she moved her hand through the bricks as if they were foam, trying to reach me that way.

Bouncing away from her, I prepared to fend off another attack. But this time Aki took her time and slowly headed in my direction. Deciding not to wait for another spit, I attacked myself. Only now the girl did not take the blows on her body, but blocked them with her hands. Hmm, maybe she's not able to tank all the attacks? That's probably the case. I should take advantage of that.

With my defence, I could occasionally miss Aki's blows, which at the moment were capable of hurting me a lot. In return, I tried to catch her. And I succeeded when I kicked the girl in the waist area. Admittedly, she was able to protect Ki's side by attacking back. I grimaced as the blow shook my insides and kicked Aki in the butt before she could stop me. It was a shame the effect wasn't great. She was out of breath, but that didn't stop her from grabbing me across the waist and dropping me to the ground. She stopped her attempt to get up, immediately settling on my body.

- I'm not ready for this kind of deepening of the relationship! - I blurted out, wanting to buy some time.

- That's too bad. I had hoped so, Mr Smith!" Aki replied sarcastically, and began hammering me with her fists glowing with Ki concentration like a well-known senator. - Ora! Ora! Hooray!

I managed to defend myself with a couple of dozen lightning-fast blows to my arms and chest. And it was getting harder and harder to take it each time. And attacking in this position was completely ineffective.

But Aki, apparently, decided to take more decisive action and, pumping energy into her right fist, brought it down on my long-suffering defence with a battle cry. Fortunately, I had a little time to counteract the girl. At the very last moment I managed to push her arm. Her fist lightly brushed my temple, scalding me with heat, and slammed me to the concrete floor. Immediately I was deafened in one ear by the sound of a natural explosion. Turning my head to the side, I saw a crater in the floor the size of three of Aki's fists.

- Mother, are you going to kill me? - I asked her in a daze.

- You can't be killed with a crowbar," she said, looking at her fist. - I've already beaten all my hands on you. And what kind of mother am I to you?!

But deciding that he'd had enough of this, he threw Aki off him and got up, ready to continue the fight. The girl also got into a stance, but not as confident as before. Apparently, both my strikes, and maintaining such power with speed, and the last attack seriously exhausted her. But I don't think that's the end of it. There's still enough strength in her to win, since I wasn't in the best shape already either.

Apparently deciding to end it as quickly as possible, Aki shortened the distance between us and struck with her left foot like a guillotine. As I judiciously decided to dodge, I was able to see in detail how the girl's heel left another hole in the floor, not much smaller than the previous one. And that was with less ki used. Not surprising, though, since her foot was stronger than her hand.

Without waiting for her to hit me, I attacked, hitting her on the cheek. It made Aki's head wobble and even twist for a moment, but I couldn't follow up. The girl of steel had time to recover and dodge the slash. But she couldn't defend herself from my wide-spread arms that grabbed her. Not even a direct blow to the head could stop me.

- I got her!

- Let me go! - Aki shouted, elbowing my back.

Naturally, I didn't listen to her and, running around, crashed into the wall with the girl. She had managed to reinforce her entire body with Ki, so she didn't get hurt too badly when she hit the bricks. Not wanting to stop there and not letting Aki slip away, he began to strike at her in the style of his namesake. The girl didn't want to give up, so she covered herself with her hands like a boxer and concentrated on her defence. I threw punches with enough force to punch through the wall behind Aki's back. Figured it out, thanks to the punches the girl took away from herself. But it didn't last long, because I started to feel sick. So much so that even hitting hard enough was not enough and Aki started to snap back. Not knowing what was wrong, I stepped away from the girl and tried to catch my breath.

- Ha-ha-ha. What the fuck? - I asked, spitting the blood out of my mouth and feeling pockets of pain blossom all over my body.

- Heh, it finally worked! - Aki said with a wry grin, wiping the blood flowing from my nose with her hand. - Phew, I thought you were going to drive me into that wall like a nail!

- Did it work? - I asked her, plugging in the nanomachines to get a body condition report.

- I wasn't just stupidly beating you the whole time. With every blow, I've been injecting Kee into your body! No matter how strong you are, I realise your insides are not protected. You've already lost Kai! - Aki said smugly. Well, at least as much as possible in her current, battered state. - And don't worry, I wasn't skilled enough to inflict dangerous damage like that, but you'll be fine.

- Yeah, it'll do," I snapped, getting a report from the nanomachines.

Indeed, there was micro-damage all over my body, except for the vital organs. If I had less stamina, I'd already be lying on the floor trying to take the pain away.

But this isn't over. I can fight. Aki, realising from my face that there would be no surrender, was not as eager as she had been at the beginning, and came at me. After exchanging a couple of blows, we managed to grab each other's arm. After twitching our limbs and realising that we couldn't release them so easily, we looked at each other.

- You're thinking what I'm thinking, aren't you? - Aki asked with a reckless face.

- I'm afraid to imagine what you're thinking," replied the girl.

- And you should be, Mr Smith!" Aki shouted, throwing her head back, burning with concentration.

I had to repeat her manoeuvre, and at the same time I had to push Iredzumi's work to the max, making the tattoos glow purple. After a moment, our heads collided. After that, we couldn't hold on to each other any longer and moved apart.

- Bastard... What is your head made of? Steel? - I asked Aki, trying to get my thoughts together.

- That's my question, you know! - replied indignantly, the girl still swaying from the blow. - But it's time to end it!

- Come closer, then!

Having exchanged pathos phrases, we slowly walked towards each other. But not in order to maintain a cool atmosphere, but because we were exhausted and beaten. But there was enough strength for the final push.

As we drew closer, Aki threw a few hand strikes to the body, which caused me to step back a little. Trying to build on her success, she went on the offensive again, but I didn't wait for the weather and, raising my hands, brought them down on the girl's shoulders with all my might.

This time the red one could not defend herself completely and fell to the floor. Leaning my hands on my knees, I tried to catch my breath while Aki wanted to get up. And that stubborn girl even succeeded when she stood up with a growl. I even thought I had lost, as my strength was running out, but apparently realising that even for her it was too much, the girl fell to the floor.

- Xoooo! I lost! - Aki said with genuine resentment.

- Whew! That was dangerous," I said with relief, sitting down next to her.

Since it was over, I could turn on all the amplification again. I exhaled blissfully for a few seconds, using the regeneration on my own body.

In general, I could consider this test passed. The defence proved itself perfectly not only in the laboratory, but also on the battlefield.

- Oh-ho-ho-ho, now my whole body hurts, and my ki is almost gone," Aki said sadly as she sat down. - Yeah, you beat me without any sentimentality. And I'm a girl, by the way!

Not expecting such a passageway from the red one, I even turned to her. Apparently, my face was quite funny, because this "girl" after a second began to laugh at the top of her voice.

- Aha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh! I'm laughing and hurting! Stop making me laugh, baka-kai!

- Is it my fault, then? - I ironically asked, remembering the meme moment.

- Oh, okay, let me fix you up, otherwise there might be complications.

Appreciating that Aki was primarily trying to help me (even though she was the one responsible for all my injuries), I used recovery on her. Since we weren't too bruised, I had enough strength.

- What the hell did you do that for! - The girl asked dumbfounded. - Nothing hurts!

- I used conceptual recovery on you. This ability I got from the book I told you about.

- Cool, bro!

- By the way, I think I've already figured out what book to give you.

- Ooh! What is it?!

- The coolest and most brutal," I told her cheerfully. - And the colour of your hair. But that's gonna be a while. Keep in mind.

- It's no big deal.

- Okay, I think it's time for one more ability.

- What is it?! - Aki asked excitedly.

- I'll show you," I replied, taking the girl's hand. - Don't move.

- Okay! The next moment I scanned the neighbourhood with clairvoyance to make sure there were no witnesses, removed the barrier and teleported to Igarashi's house, or rather to Aki's room.

- Hop! Hocus-pocus!

- Teleportation? Nice! This way you don't have to waste time travelling and other boring stuff," Aki said, still holding onto my hand.

- No argument there.

I was about to move away from the girl, but my foot caught on something and I fell backwards. Except I pulled Aki with me, and she fell right on top of me.

- Ouch! Shit, Kai, be careful...!

At that moment, Aunt Naomi flew into the room, pouring a huge amount of ki into space. But as soon as she saw us, her face went from frantic to surprised to understanding. Damn it, how could I stutter like that? Is the title messing with me again, getting me into weird situations?

- Ara-ara! I guess I'm interrupting you? - The woman asked playfully.

Aki immediately jumped up and moved away from me. In doing so, she even blushed a little. Wow.

- I know this is going to sound strange, but it's not what you think," I said, anticipating all the jokes and innuendos from the older Igarashi.

- Really? You do look unkempt, though. And how could you walk into the room past me?

- Well, it was like this...
