Chapter 2 - A Fragile Constitution
Wrestling with a little loli sounded a bit shameful.
Ahem, though, to be fair, it was pretty embarrassing…
Su Yu felt utterly crushed. He, a grown man, couldn’t even beat a little loli. He might as well bash his head in and be done with it!
“Young Master, are you okay?”
Little Qing’s delicate white fingers twisted together, her face tinged with nervousness.
Had she done something wrong?
Her mother had told her that men were made of water—meant to be pampered and indulged.
Men were fickle creatures. They might say they didn’t care, but their hearts often felt otherwise.
Liking something could mean disliking it, and vice versa…
When the Young Master said, “Don’t hold back,” he might’ve actually meant for her to go easy on him.
Failing to catch the hidden meaning in his words, she’d acted like some clueless, straightforward brute.
Little Qing felt a pang of guilt. Why couldn’t her brain be sharper?
Su Yu rubbed his sore wrist, casting her a cold glance. “You didn’t do anything wrong. Alright, take me for a walk around. I need to clear my head.”
He was, admittedly, a bit annoyed, but he wouldn’t stoop to squabbling with a little loli.
Su Yu just felt…
Well, melancholic.
No wonder this world flipped gender norms. The girls here had physiques so impressive it was terrifying, while men were delicate and frail, like porcelain that might shatter at the slightest touch…
Little Qing studied her Young Master’s expression, sensing he needed a distraction, and followed along, her own thoughts heavy.
The sky was clear and bright, not a cloud in sight. A gentle breeze brushed past, carrying the faint scent of flowers.
The moment Su Yu stepped outside, he encountered a woman in a pale yellow ruqun.
“Good morning, Young Master.”
The woman had been standing at the door for who-knows-how-long. If he hadn’t come out, Su Yu wouldn’t have even noticed her presence.
“You are…?”
Su Yu took a step back. Unlike Little Qing, this seemingly young girl carried an air of mature femininity that overwhelmed him.
In his past life, he’d never even held a girl’s hand!
And this seemingly young girl was strikingly developed—her upper body proud and prominent.
With just a slight movement, Su Yu caught a tantalizing glimpse of swaying curves through the gap in her collar.
“Young Master hasn’t come of age yet,” the seemingly young girl said, covering her mouth with a soft laugh.
“…”
Su Yu froze, then realization hit, and his face flushed crimson in an instant.
“…Heh, after looking after you all these years, you still ask my name?”
“Oh, s-sorry… Sister Bailian.”
Su Yu stammered nervously. With a quick flash of memory, he recalled the identity of this… not young girl, but woman before him.
Bailian was the wet nurse who’d raised him from infancy.
Though she looked only eighteen or nineteen, she was actually a far-from-young “big sister.”
Her outward appearance was youthful and innocent, but inside, she was a bona fide mature woman.
No wonder her figure was so well-developed…
But how did she maintain such a youthful look?
Bailian smiled gently. “It’s fine. How could I blame you, Young Master? You’re off to stroll the gardens, right? Please go ahead—I have a few words for this young girl, Little Qing.”
Su Yu nodded and hurried off.
He felt oddly flustered.
What just happened?
Sister Bailian had been staring at him the whole time, but there wasn’t anything strange on him, was there?
…
Little Qing stood awkwardly in place, unsure why Bailian had kept her behind.
“Little Qing.”
“Yes!”
She jolted instinctively, tears welling up in her eyes.
Seeing such a strong reaction, Bailian felt a twinge of pity.
But recalling what she’d just witnessed, her expression hardened. “I waited outside for a while and heard the Young Master cry out. What were you two doing in there? His wrist is bruised—did you…?”
A glint of coldness flashed in Bailian’s eyes.
Little Qing waved her hands frantically, stammering in a panic, “No, no! How could I ever dare to… to the Young Master—”
“Enough!”
Bailian quickly raised a hand to stop her. Walls had ears, and she didn’t want rumors spreading through the courtyard, tarnishing the Young Master’s reputation as a man.
Born with rosy lips and pearly teeth, soft black hair, a refined nose that sparked the imagination, and tender, vibrant lips—his entire face was breathtakingly beautiful.
And it wasn’t just beauty. His brows and eyes exuded a pure, innocent aura that drew people in unconsciously.
With delicate features and a gentle demeanor, most women—especially those with weaker resolve—might lose themselves in a room alone with him.
But Little Qing was a child Bailian had watched grow up. She was honest and simple; Bailian didn’t believe she’d act rashly.
Still… she couldn’t help but care.
Stepping into Su Yu’s “boudoir,” Bailian sat on a familiar, clean, comfortable stool.
Her gaze softened with nostalgia as she took in the room’s familiar decor.
Having raised him from childhood, she could picture Su Yu’s room with her eyes closed.
But children grow up and develop their own minds.
Handing Little Qing the responsibility of taking her place left Bailian with mixed feelings.
Did she even know what the Young Master liked to eat, what interested him? What clothes he preferred, what colors he favored? Could she notice when he was thirsty or hungry in time…?
Bailian constantly worried that Little Qing wouldn’t care for Su Yu well enough.
Yet, seeing the spotless room—everything tidy and pristine, with Su Yu himself looking plump and healthy—Bailian hadn’t expected Little Qing to be so capable.
But now wasn’t the time for praise…
Bailian carefully inspected the bedding.
No damp spots, no odd smells. Little Qing’s expression was normal, with no signs of anything amiss.
“Sorry, I misunderstood you.”
Relieved of suspicion, Little Qing broke into a tearful smile.
Bailian’s fingers brushed lightly over the bed, sniffing the tips for any trace. “But the Young Master turns of age next month. He’s not a child anymore. Some things can’t be as casual as before. You understand what I mean, don’t you?”
“Ah… uh…”
Little Qing’s face reddened. Of course she understood.
