Chapter 24: Holy Swords - 4

The next day, all the members of Occult Research Club gathered in their familiar room, the atmosphere was tense.

Rias sat on one side, and her whole team stood behind her, while Xenovia and Irina, the two emissaries from the Church, occupied seats opposite of them.

Asia stood nervously beside Issei, her gaze shifting between the familiar faces and the newcomers.

Xenovia, with her blue hair and confident demeanor, leaned forward slightly, breaking the silence. "Thank you for meeting with us. We have something important to discuss."

Irina, with her vibrant orange hair and cheerful disposition, nodded in agreement. "Yes, this concerns both the Church and the devils. It's about the holy swords."

Rias tilted her head, her crimson hair cascading over her shoulder. "The holy swords? What about them?"

Xenovia took a deep breath. "As you know, the Church possesses six holy swords, fragments of the original Excalibur. However, three of those fragments were recently stolen by the fallen angels."

The room fell into a silence as the gravity of the situation sank in. Rias's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the implications. "The fallen angels stole three of the holy swords? Why would they do that?"

Irina interjected, her voice serious despite her usual bubbly nature. "The fallen angels intend to use the power of the stolen swords to create chaos and destruction. That's why we've been sent here—to retrieve the stolen swords and prevent any catastrophe."

Issei, ever curious, leaned forward. "But why come to us? Why not handle this on your own?"

Xenovia's gaze met Issei's, her expression firm. "Because the fallen angels were operating in your territory. We need your cooperation to find and recover the stolen swords. This is bigger than just the Church. It's about preventing a potential disaster that could affect all factions."

Asia, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke up. "But what about the other holy swords? Are they safe?"

Irina nodded reassuringly. "The remaining swords are secured within the Church's.'' She showed her, her own sword.

"see here this also the sword fragment, my sword, the holy sword of mimicry. And Xenovia has the holy sword of Destruction.

Rias's voice was calm but carried an undercurrent of authority. "So, what exactly do you want from us?"

Xenovia exchanged a glance with Irina, her expression resolute. She took a deep breath before responding, her tone firm. "We don't want you involved in this matter."

The room fell silent, the tension rising palpably. Issei's eyes widened in surprise, and he couldn't help but blurt out, "Wait, what? You don't want our help? Then why come to us in the first place?"

Irina, her usual cheerful demeanor replaced with seriousness, explained further. "This is a matter between the Church and the fallen angels. It's our responsibility to deal with it. We came here to inform you so you'd be aware of the situation, but we don't want you getting involved."

Rias's eyes narrowed, her displeasure evident. "You came here, asked for a meeting, and now you're telling us to stay out of it, Are you afraid we would side with the fallen angels, and stop you from obtaining the sword?"

Xenovia's gaze remained steady. "We all understand that the holy swords are detestable thing for devils, but we don't think the sister of satan is that stupid. We can't risk involving devils in a matter that could escalate tensions further."

Rias jaw tightened. A heavy silence followed, each side holding their ground.

Finally, Rias spoke again, her tone unwavering. "We won't interfere unless we absolutely have to. But understand this—we won't allow any harm to come to our people or our territory. If things get out of hand, we will step in."

Xenovia and Irina exchanged a look, recognizing they wouldn't change Rias's mind. Xenovia gave a reluctant nod. "Fair enough. But for now, please trust us to handle it."

With the conversation reaching its conclusion, the two Church emissaries stood, preparing to leave. Irina glanced back, her eyes meeting Issei's for a brief moment. "Thank you for understanding."

As Xenovia and Irina made their way toward the exit, Xenovia suddenly paused, her sharp gaze falling on Asia. "Aren't you Asia Argento?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. "It makes sense that we would run into you in a place like this."

Asia flinched slightly, her expression turning anxious.

Irina, noticing Asia's discomfort, chimed in, her tone a mix of surprise and judgment. "Aren't you the saint who has the power to heal devils and fallen angels? You were once revered for your abilities, and yet, you became a witch. I didn't expect you'd go so far as to become a devil yourself."

Asia's eyes widened, her hands trembling slightly as the weight of their words bore down on her. The room grew tense, the other members of the Occult Research Club watching the exchange with concern.

.....

Before anyone else could react, a calm voice cut through the air. "That's enough,"

As Raizel materialized, Xenovia and Irina were momentarily stunned. Standing before them was a devilishly handsome young man, his presence exuding an otherworldly charm.

His crimson eyes glowed softly. The calm, collected tone of his soft voice as he addressed them only enhanced his allure, making it clear that he was not someone to be trifled with.

Xenovia's sharp gaze faltered slightly as she took in his striking features and the quiet confidence he exuded. Irina, usually outspoken, found herself momentarily speechless, caught off guard by the unexpected appearance of someone out of thin air.

Raizel's demeanor was protective as he positioned himself in front of Asia, shielding her from their harsh words. The contrast between his serene exterior and the subtle intensity in his eyes added another layer to his charm, making it clear that he was a force to be reckoned with.

His presence filled the room, demanding attention and respect without a hint of aggression. The calmness in his tone seemed to soothe the tense atmosphere.

Xenovia and Irina couldn't help but be drawn to him, their earlier confidence wavering in the face of his presence. They exchanged a brief glance.

His defense of Asia was unwavering, and the quiet intensity in his gaze made it clear that he would not tolerate any further disrespect toward her.

By the time he finished, Xenovia and Irina found themselves reassessing their initial impressions. The devilishly handsome young man who had appeared so suddenly had left an indelible mark on them.

His crimson eyes glowed with quiet intensity as he stepped forward, placing himself protectively in front of Asia.

Raizel's gaze was unwavering, his voice steady but firm. "Your words are unnecessary and cruel. Asia has found a new family here, one that accepts and cherishes her for who she is. There is no need for you to bring up her past with such disdain."

Irina opened her mouth to respond, but Raizel continued, his tone softening slightly as he glanced at Asia. "Asia is not defined by her past actions or affiliations. She has shown great courage and kindness, and she deserves respect, not condemnation."

Asia looked up at Raizel, her eyes glistening with gratitude and relief. His words wrapped around her like a protective shield, dispelling the lingering shadows of doubt and guilt.

Xenovia took a step back. "We were just surprised."

Raizel's gaze remained steady. "Surprise does not excuse thoughtlessness. If you truly seek to understand, then do so with compassion, not judgment."

Irina lowered her gaze, her earlier confidence waning. "We'll keep that in mind."

With that, Xenovia and Irina turned and left, leaving the room in a contemplative silence. Raizel turned to Asia. "Are you alright?"

Asia nodded, wiping away a stray tear. "Thank you, Raizel-san. Your words mean a lot to me."

He offered her a gentle smile.

The other members of the club nodded in agreement.
