Chapter 64: Chapter 64
I look at the corpse in front of me and sigh. I rub the bridge of my nose because I already know who the one sending those assassins is.
"I already know the answer, but I need to make sure. Does the King Stag order those people to come here?"
Jaqen nods his head and says.
"They are. We give them the gifts before they can poison the dragons, my lord."
"Poison our dragons?!"
I look at Alduin and see him understand what is happening. He growls and releases a breath of purple flame. He is angry at the people who try to kill him. I pat his head and calm him down before saying.
"It is good that you have to take care of them before they can do anything."
"It is our duty, my lord. We are your eyes, ears, and knife in the dark. You are the chosen of the Many-Faced God, and we shall serve you until our god calls for your name to his sanctuary."
"Right. Anyway, how is their shipbuilding? How much time do we have before they go to war against us?"
Jaqen thinks for a few seconds before saying.
"I think we should be good for another three years at maximum. It can be a year at the fastest, but I put my money in two years before they start marching."
"Two years, huh? Can you delay their march? Two and a half years should be good enough."
I need our dragons to grow and make Dany good enough to take care of my position while I go to war. Two and a half years will let Dany learn how to rule and make sure she is ready. Not only that but in a month, she will also start her fighting training. That means, in two years, she will know how to defend herself if the situation requires it.
"We can do that, my lord. We can even go as far as three years."
"No. They will start to get suspicious if we stretch it too thin. Two and a half years is enough."
"Very well. We shall make sure they cannot march for two and a half years."
"Good. Is there anything else?"
"We also receive news of a growing force in the north, my lord."
"Oh? Tell me."
"Tyrosh and Myr are getting restless, my lord. They make an alliance between the two of them to defeat the Solaris Kingdom."
I release a sigh and say.
"Goddammit. Can't they leave us alone? Urgh. How many of them? When will they attack, and from where will they attack?"
"They are planning on attacking us from the land and sea. Tyrosh will take all the pirates of stepstones to attack from the sea, and Myr will take all the mercenaries they can hire to attack from the land. They are planning to attack Gulrian city first to get all your attention before Tyrosh comes and reinforces them from the sea."
From the front and back, huh? It is a good plan. It will catch us off guard, and the ship will defend anyone we send from Stellaris. They will take over the Gulrian city and then use the ship near it to get into Stellaris.
"How about their force?"
"We have yet to get all the numbers because they are still recruiting. However, we can safely say there will be two thousand from Myr and one thousand from Tyrosh."
"When?"
"They are planning to attack in five months."
"Argh!"
I scream in frustration and put my head on the table. What with the people of this world? All they want is war. I release a sigh and look at Jaqen.
"Watch their movement, and tell me when they change their plan."
"Yes, my lord."
"You can go now. Make sure to call Melisandre."
As he leaves the office, I can see Melisandre walking inside, and I say,
"How much do you hear?"
"Almost all of them, my lord."
"Good. Then I don't need to explain our situation. We have two wars we need to prepare for. The biggest one will happen in two years, while the smaller one will happen in five months. Any solution?"
She nods her head and says.
"I don't have any solution I can give you, my lord. However, our God gave me a vision."
"What kind of vision?"
"You shall win the first war if you give it your all."
"What does that mean?"
"It means you shall come victorious as long as you do your best in this war. Be yourself and do your best in the incoming war. You have the power of the Divine on your side, and you can boost your chance of winning by using them. Even if you don't do more, you will win this war, for the enemies underestimate our might, but we can show them an overwhelming victory if you do your best."
I look at her for a second and release a sigh.
"Do my best, huh? Very well."
She smiles at me and walks next to me. She hugs me and puts my head on her bosom.
"You don't need to think of it too much, my lord. You have the divine and your people by your side. Your people shall give their lives to give you that victory and bring honor in your name. Your influence is bigger than you thought it was. You are the breaker of chains and the lord of freedom."
She moves my head and leans forward. She kissed me, and I could feel her warm lip on mine. After a few seconds, our lips parted, and she smiled at me.
"You also have me. I shall ensure you come back victorious from any battle. You are my lord and king, after all."
I look at her with a small smile and say.
"You are right. However, if I need to do my best. I need to do some magic. We have been delaying it long enough. I think it is time for me to learn how to control the magic Lord R'hllor gives to me."
She nods her head and says.
"You are right. Let's go to my room. I shall teach you how to control the blessing our lord gives to us."
