I Died And Reincarnated Into Marvel as Goddess Artoria

Chapter 21: Chapter 21

POV: Artoria Pendragon

I, now bearing the title of king once again, stepped out of the steaming bathhouse within the pristine white walls of Camelot, a castle I had reconstructed just the night before with the immense power of Rhongomyniad. Wrapped in the comforting warmth of a luxurious robe, I carried myself with poise, yet my heart was far from tranquil.

In this new world, where my Knights of the Round Table were but a memory, and this modern age's heroes operated under a very different code, I felt the weight of loneliness amidst my renewed kingdom.

The soft glow of the sun filtered through the silken clouds, casting a warm, golden hue over the freshly constructed Castle Camelot. The gentle hum of magic resonated through the stone walls, remnants of Rhongomyniad's immense power still lingering in the air.

I am now standing in the changing room once again. I had just finished a rejuvenating bath, my blonde hair still damp and cascading down my back like spun sunlight. I make my way towards one of the sinks with a mirror above it. My long golden hair hangs down to my waist without it being put up. My light green eyes glow with a ethereal brilliance.

This hair style reminds me of when I lived in the Faerie Kingdom. I wounder how comfortable her attire was, I mean I remember how comfortable it was but I want to know what its like. So, I materialize Artoria Avalon's Clothes onto me causing my body to glow white for a second causing me to close my eyes even though the light wouldn't effect me.

When I open back up my eyes I am Dressed now in my Avalon attire, a soft, flowing gown of silver and white, accentuated with ethereal blue highlights, I felt lighter. My hair styled in Artoria Avalon's style without me even touching it. It must be because of the system, not that I mind.

Though one The dress, though regal, was as comfortable as a breeze wafted through the halls. Rhongomyniad rested firmly at my side, a symbol of my duty and my anchor to this realm, should the need arise.

As I wandered through the castle, my destination clear in my mind, my steps carried my to the newly created gardens of the castle. It was no ordinary garden, it bore the influence of the lance's creation magic, a reflection of serene Japanese aesthetics I admired during my travels. The lush space was a blend of sakura trees in full bloom, their delicate pink petals scattering with every breeze, and pristine koi ponds with stepping stones, its surface rippling as colorful fish darted gracefully beneath. Bamboo groves swayed gently, and lanterns hung from artfully placed posts, casting warm light that complemented the natural beauty.

I paused at the garden's entrance, letting out a small sigh of relief as I observed the tranquil scene. The ambiance, their gentle sounds soothing my spirit.

"It appears… even in this familiar but unfamiliar world, beauty can flourish," I murmured, my voice soft but tinged with a hint of pride.

Walking further, I passed a stone fountain where the clear water shimmered, catching the light in a way that reminded me of Avalon. As I approached one of the simple yet elegant wooden benches, I brushed away a stray cherry blossom petal before sitting. My posture relaxed, a rarity for a King known for my ever perpetual readiness.

"So, this is my Camelot," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. A faint smile graced my lips as I gazed at the surroundings. "Not perfect... but neither am I. Perhaps that is what makes it real."

I glanced at Rhongomyniad resting nearby, then at the peaceful garden. My fingers lightly traced the shaft of Rhongomyniad, which rested beside me on the bench. It pulsed faintly, as if sharing my thoughts.

"So," I addressed the lance as if it were an old companion. "What now? I've built Camelot again. Yet, this land… it needs more than just a castle or a king. It needs people to believe in its ideals, not my perfection. Because, as you and I know, perfection is… unattainable."

I chuckled softly, a rare moment of vulnerability. A petal landed in my hair, and I flicked it off with a delicate but practiced motion.

"Last night, I rebuilt what was lost," I continued, speaking to no one in particular. "But what does it mean to rebuild a kingdom without its people? Without the Round Table? Without... them."

A soft chuckle escaped my lips, surprising even herself. "How uncharacteristic of me to brood like this. Merlin would undoubtedly have some witty remark. 'Cheer up, Artoria. You've rebuilt Camelot in record time, and with hot springs, no less! Truly, a marvel of kingly priorities!'"

My laughter faded as I leaned back, closing my eyes and letting the tranquil sounds of the garden envelop me. The rustling of the cherry blossoms, the bubbling of the bamboo fountain, and the distant chirping of birds created a melody that soothed my restless heart.

There are many things the previous me would have wanted to do in this new life. For example; helping the Maximoff twins, protecting the people of New York during the invasion, and dealing with Hydra before the downfall of S.H.I.E.L.D is necessary. But that's only the tip of the iceberg.

'Raphael what do you think?'

[ Out of the three goals you have listed two of them would be relatively easy considering the power you possess. The third however would be a bit more complex to solve. Since at this point in time hydra would have almost completely compromised S.H.I.E.L.D. It would be difficult to completely rule out all possible members that have infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D with the current technology this world possess. But it's not impossible for us. ]

I look out at the beautiful Japanese scenery around me, taking in what Raphael said. 'That's right, we have a few avenues to pursue to solve that problem but that's for later, someone is coming.'

The silence of the garden was interrupted by the distant sound of footsteps. Turning slightly, I found myself face-to-face with a group of Enforcement Knights I had summoned the previous evening. Their armor gleamed, though their faces were invisible beneath their helmets.

"My King," the lead knight spoke, bowing deeply. "Your orders for the day?"

I waved a hand dismissively. "You are dismissed for now. Tend to the castle or the grounds, but do not linger here unless you enjoy watching your King… relax." I tilted my head with a wry smile, which likely caused some confusion among the knights. They shuffled away, unsure if they should be amused or concerned.

As they departed, I leaned back and stared at the sky, my light green eyes reflecting its vastness.

"This time… I'll do it differently. No illusions of the perfect King. No mask to hide behind. This Camelot will be one where mistakes are allowed, and the people thrive despite them."

A soft breeze carried the sound of distant birdsong to my ears. For a moment, I felt peace, a fleeting, fragile thing I rarely allowed myself to grasp. And yet, I held onto it, if only for the moment. In this Marvelous new world, my journey as King had begun anew, and this time, I intended to get it right.

My eyes fluttered open at the sound of faint footsteps behind me. I reached for Rhongomyniad instinctively but relaxed when I saw one of my newly summoned Enforcement Knights.... approach me again, a tall figure clad in silver armor, their demeanor respectful but firm.

"My Lady," the knight began, bowing deeply. "A patrol has reported the approach of a large group of civilians near the outer wall. They appear... curious rather than hostile, with devices that flash."

I tilted my head, my expression thoughtful. "Curious strangers in this world? It seems I will not have the luxury of solitude for long. Very well. Have them escorted to the main square courtyard of the city. I shall speak with them."

The knight nodded and departed swiftly, leaving me to my thoughts once more. I stood, brushing off imaginary dust from my gown before turning my gaze to the cherry blossoms above.

"Well then," I said, my tone carrying a hint of wry humor, "it appears my reign in this new age begins sooner than expected. Let us see if this 'Camelot' is truly a place for all."

With Rhongomyniad in hand, I strode confidently back toward the castle, my figure a blend of regality and resolve. Yet, deep within my heart, a spark of hope flickered, a hope that this time, things might be different.
