Chapter 81
Chapter 81
“······.”
White Sheep silently glared at Si-hyun.
The faint trembling in her pupils revealed just how unsettled she was.
A brief silence filled the air between them.
Eventually, the girl chose to turn away from the problem and escape.
Of course, Si-hyun wasn’t about to let her leave so easily.
As the girl turned her back to leave the classroom, Si-hyun spoke.
“Leaving like this won’t change anything.”
“What do you want me to do? Even if what you say is true, did you expect me to be utterly shocked and switch to the human side?”
The face she turned back with was cold and angry.
Her previously shaken eyes now brimmed with murderous intent.
“Don’t get it twisted. I’m not Yoo Hana—I’m White Sheep. Even if I was Yoo Hana before losing my memory, she’s already dead. The Yoo Hana you knew doesn’t exist anymore.”
But Si-hyun wasn’t one to back down easily.
“Then why did you listen to me? You want to recover your lost memories, don’t you? Do you really think Yoo Hana and you are two entirely separate beings?”
“…Shut up. I won’t be swayed by your words anymore. Watch your mouth.”
If she wanted to, she could kill Si-hyun right then and there.
Even though her opponent was strong, she could tell Si-hyun was weaker without even fighting.
But White Sheep didn’t act on it.
Once she spoke her word, she had to keep it. Breaking promises or betraying others was something her teacher despised the most.
Despite that, any goodwill she had for Si-hyun had vanished completely.
To insult her teacher was no different than insulting herself.
What nonsense is this?
Her teacher tried to kill her?
Ridiculous. Impossible.
“For the last time, where is the Holy Grail—Kim Si woo?”
“I don’t know. Honestly,” Si-hyun replied with a troubled look.
“He disappeared out of the blue. He’s not answering any calls. I thought your group might’ve kidnapped him, but I guess not.”
“…He really disappeared?”
“Strange. Wasn’t the vice principal one of your spies?”
The vice principal of the academy.
The Sand Crocodile.
White Sheep recalled the mysterious figure.
Always stationed inside the academy, she’d never seen his face even once.
If he had recruited Kim Si woo, there would’ve been no need to attack the academy in the first place.
Something didn’t add up.
With an uneasy feeling, White Sheep decided to find Kim Si woo quickly.
Leaving Si-hyun behind, she turned to leave but gave her one last warning.
“You should leave here too. Go as far away as you can.”
With that, White Sheep vanished.
Left alone in Class A, Si-hyun gazed out the window.
The battlefield on the school grounds was chaotic, with powerful combatants clashing.
Each collision of their might shook the heavens and split the earth.
The battle between apostles and humans raged on everywhere.
The academy’s scenery was so devastated it was hard to imagine its original state.
Perhaps staying here wasn’t the best idea either.
Si-hyun recalled the events before the apostles invaded.
A select few had been given something called a Holy Water.
It was a magical potion that enhanced the body and abilities to superhuman levels.
But in reality, it was something suspicious, made from human blood.
Si-hyun had pretended to drink it but saw firsthand how potent it was.
It didn’t just enhance performance—it was transcendent.
However, such power must come with a price.
No matter who won this war, returning to how things were seemed impossible.
Looking out into the distance, Si-hyun resolved to move forward.
Staying still wouldn’t change anything.
Move.
Even if it’s just for a slightly better future.
—
Meanwhile, the instigator of the war, Black Goat, continued heading toward a clear destination.
Anyone who tried to stop his advance paid the price with their life.
No one could hinder his progress.
Not even an S-class hero who had taken the Holy Water could stand against him.
After defeating such a foe, Black Goat gazed leisurely at the sky and muttered.
“You’ve been through a lot.”
With a dragon soaring above in the background, he entered a building.
The academy’s main building.
If he went higher from here, he’d encounter the elders of the board.
Not that it mattered—what was there was nothing but a facade.
Black Goat wasn’t heading upward.
What was the academy’s greatest asset?
Was it the well-trained students? No.
The exceptionally strong faculty? No.
The Lance of Longinus? No.
It was an unfathomable godlike intellect.
The true controller of the academy’s systems.
The artificial intelligence, Magi.
Black Goat descended into the underground of the main building to meet her.
The underground was devoid of any signs of life.
Only the hum of machinery echoed, asserting its presence.
The entire underground could be considered part of Magi, but that wasn’t entirely accurate.
Strictly speaking, the metallic structures weren’t her core.
Even the massive computer at the center was just an interface for communication with Magi.
Standing before it, Black Goat attempted to access the network.
An expected screen greeted him.
[Login Required]
He immediately produced a card from his pocket and scanned it.
It was the vice principal’s card, granting first-class access.
Beep.
[Access Denied: Authorization Revoked.]
“Hmm.”
As expected, Magi didn’t acknowledge him.
Black Goat let out a low hum, stroking his chin.
He had suspected as much since losing contact, but it seemed something had happened to the Sand Crocodile.
Considering the Holy Grail’s power, it wasn’t impossible.
Things were becoming complicated.
It seemed the board of directors wasn’t as easy to deal with as he had hoped.
To meet Magi’s core, first-class access was essential.
Currently, there was only one other person worth targeting for that access.
The principle.
But first, he had another matter to handle.
“It’s been a while, Enforcer.”
Of course, this place wouldn’t be unguarded.
But he hadn’t expected them to station their strongest here.
Footsteps echoed as someone emerged from the shadows.
It was a girl in a school uniform, but she was anything but ordinary.
Han Sehee, the former student council president.
The academy’s strongest student.
Her power rivaled, if not surpassed, that of most S-class heroes.
As soon as he saw her, Black Goat spoke.
“You’ve taken the Holy Water. Not the wisest choice.”
“We didn’t settle things last time. This time, I’ll end it for good.”
“How terrifying.”
Boom!
In an instant, overwhelming power surged toward him.
Before he could resist, the sheer force flung him skyward, tearing through floors.
Each impact shattered ceilings as he was hurled higher and higher.
By the time the force subsided, he was far from the underground.
Black Goat coughed dryly, embedded in the ceiling.
Han Sehee, who had followed him up, looked down coldly.
“I moved the fight up here to avoid causing trouble below. How do you like it?”
“Not bad.”
Dusting himself off, Black Goat landed lightly on the floor.
“You seem confident. I wonder how long that will last.”
Han Sehee began gathering power, creating a storm that threw everything in the room into chaos.
Even in such a storm, Black Goat remained calm.
“Relying on power is a foolish thing to do.”
As he extended his hand, a black dimensional gate appeared, releasing chains of darkness.
The chains surged toward her but were swept away by the storm’s force.
The entire building shook violently before collapsing.
Black Goat leapt nimbly, using walls as footholds, and charged toward her.
But with a simple gesture, Han Sehee sent him crashing back into the wall.
“No one can defeat me now.”
“How arrogant.”
Red eyes locked onto her, sending a chill down her spine.
Han Sehee’s expression changed as an unfamiliar aura filled the air.
“What… what did you do?”
“I’ve summoned it with a sacrifice.”
[□□□□□!!]
A monstrous roar shook the entire building.
Light vanished as a massive hand, large enough to block the windows, descended upon her.
“Ugh!”
Barely dodging, Han Sehee watched as the hand demolished the building.
Through the destruction, she identified its owner.
A colossal creature, its body as large as the academy itself.
With horns, wings, and burnt, coal-like skin, it had blazing red eyes and fearsome fangs.
“A demon…?”
“A Balrog.”
