I Became a Digimon and Change Worlds Every Month

Chapter 5: Angewomon’s Soul

"Take Over Magic, Release!"

Mira raised her despised demonic hand, and with a flash of a magic circle, the demonic hand returned to the soft, childlike state of normal human skin.

"Moss, look! I learned Take Over Magic!"

Mira excitedly showed off her arm to Moss.

Moss had saved Mira and the others, and since Angewomon had the appearance of a gentle older sister, she had come to be seen as a senior figure by Mira and her siblings.

"Congratulations," Moss said with a smile.

She was in a good mood too because, after days of meditation, she had finally mastered the third energy within her body—the magical power.

Now that she had control over magic, the next step was choosing what kind of magic to learn.

Lisanna and Elfman, influenced by their older sister Mira, decided to learn Take Over Magic after gaining magical abilities.

After some thought, Moss also decided to learn Take Over Magic.

This magic affected the soul itself, which was particularly significant for someone like her—a reincarnated soul that had fused with Angewomon into a single entity.

Moreover, Take Over Magic suited her well.

Other forms of magic required steady training to grow stronger bit by bit, but Take Over Magic's strength mainly depended on the soul being taken in.

In other words, as long as she could absorb a powerful soul, her strength could grow significantly in a short time.

To her surprise, learning Take Over Magic went unexpectedly smoothly.

Unlike sensing magic, which had been a struggle, this ability came to her naturally, as if it had always belonged to her.

"Huh?"

Before Moss could celebrate, a voice suddenly echoed in her mind.

"Where is this place?"

It was her own voice—or rather, Angewomon's voice.

"Who are you?" Moss asked softly.

The voice sounded shocked. "The body is speaking?! Why… why is my body moving on its own? Who… who is controlling my body?"

Moss quickly understood—the voice in her mind was Angewomon, the original owner of this body.

Even though she had reincarnated into Angewomon's form, she hadn't inherited any of Angewomon's past memories, which meant their souls had never truly merged.

She had assumed Angewomon's soul had disappeared, but it turned out that it had merely been sleeping deep within this body.

Back in her dorm room, Moss ensured no one was around before speaking freely. "Angewomon, do you remember where you were last?"

Angewomon, realizing she had no control over her body, was first distressed and anxious, but she quickly calmed down and replied, "I was captured by humans and locked inside a storage pod in a laboratory. They kept me in a constant state of sleep using anesthetics or something similar."

That was when Angewomon had been captured by Kurata.

Moss said, "They were researching Biomerge Digimon technology."

Angewomon was confused. "What's that?"

Moss explained, "It's a technology that fuses Digimon into human bodies, turning them into Biomerge Digimon. These Digimon have greater combat power than their original forms."

Angewomon gasped. "Then… did I… have I become a Biomerge Digimon?"

Moss shook her head. "No."

Angewomon let out a sigh of relief.

Moss continued, "That experiment is over. You were supposed to be used as a sacrifice to revive Belphemon."

Angewomon's relief instantly turned into shock. "Belphemon? You mean one of the Seven Great Demon Lords?"

Moss nodded. "Yes."

Angewomon fell silent in disbelief before finally asking, "But now…"

As they had walked from the library back to the dorm, Angewomon had already realized that they were no longer in that research facility.

Moss explained, "I possessed your body and managed to rescue you. As you can see, this world is no longer the same—it's a human world where magic exists."

Angewomon didn't fully understand what a world with magic meant, but she still expressed her gratitude. "I see. Thank you."

"Can you see this?"

Moss pointed at a floating screen.

[Name: Moss][Race: Digimon · Ultimate Level · Free Type · Angel Species · Angewomon][Skills: Celestial Arrow, Heaven's Light, Healing Light, Digisoul, Take Over Magic][Evolution Paths: Fallen Evolution][Return Countdown: 19 Days]

Angewomon looked in the direction Moss pointed—toward the dorm window. She was confused about what she was supposed to see and asked, "You mean the window?"

…She couldn't see the interface?

Moss focused her thoughts and opened the details on her Fallen Evolution path. Aside from the previously listed failed evolutions like Sukamon, Numemon, Zombieman Satan Mode, and Myotismon, a new potential evolution had appeared.

LadyDevimon!

Due to Angewomon's consciousness awakening, she had now unlocked the possibility of evolving into LadyDevimon, though the success rate was only 1%.

Evolution was truly a fascinating concept~

Feeling intrigued, Moss said, "Let's introduce ourselves properly. I'm Moss."

Angewomon hesitated for a moment before saying, "I am Angewomon."

…Of course, I already knew that.

Moss chuckled. "From now on, we'll be partners—two minds in one body."

Angewomon wasn't sure how to respond to that.

Her body had already been taken over. Whatever Moss said, she had no choice but to accept it.

Luckily, she was Angewomon—a Digimon whose core essence was kindness. Even if she no longer had control over her body, she didn't feel resentful.

If she had been Myotismon, Devimon, or LadyDevimon, she wouldn't have let this slide so easily, even without control.

Moss asked, "Angewomon, why did you wake up only now?"

Angewomon replied, "I don't know. I just felt like something was calling me, so I tried opening my eyes, and then I woke up."

"Calling you?"

Moss wondered if it was because of Take Over Magic.

She had been in this world for over ten days, yet Angewomon hadn't awakened until now. But as soon as she mastered Take Over Magic, Angewomon woke up.

It might not be a coincidence—maybe Angewomon's soul had responded to the magic's summoning.

Moss shared her theory. "I recently learned a magic called Take Over. It's a magic that connects with souls and allows the user to take on their power. Maybe that's what woke you up."

Angewomon suddenly understood. That explanation made sense.

Moss continued, "In 19 days, we'll return to our original world, and we'll have to face the people who captured you—and even Belphemon."

Return?

Angewomon tensed up.

Moss pressed on, "Angewomon, since you're awake now, let's get stronger together!"

Angewomon replied, "I understand. I will fully support you."

The words sounded a little strange. It was her body, yet she was now in the support role.

But she didn't mind—because she was kind.

"Angewomon, are our senses synchronized?"

After making an inspiring declaration about growing stronger, Moss suddenly changed the subject.

The sudden shift in thought startled Angewomon, but she answered honestly, "Yes, sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—we share all five senses."

"In that case…"

Moss smirked and slipped her right hand under her clothes.

"W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Angewomon panicked.

Since their senses were linked, that naturally included physical sensations.
